I've been riding and training horses almost all my life. I would NEVER to presume to adjust the tack on someone else's mount. Bad manners and just plain stupid.
The downside of her actions being that the bridle still didn't get adjusted. So instead of notifying someone, she created a situation where its now overlooked.
That tourist had no right to touch the horse, even if it was to “fix” the bridle, it’s not hers and you don’t touch other peoples’ horses unless you know both the owner/rider and the horse, same goes for feeding horses (I’m a horse owner and the amount of people that ignore the “do not feed” sign on the paddock fence is staggering). The horse was putting the shank of the Weymouth bit in it’s mouth on purpose. It’s chewing on it. It’s probably bored af standing there for an hour… or dreaming about taking a chunk out of a tourist lol

This is getting ridiculous the tourists are completely out of hand now and it is about time people were prevented from getting too close to guard and horse for good. This includes the gatemen and the guards in the tunnel even these poor chaps are molested and I really worry about how close people are allowed to get to them at all, all you need is a nutter with a knife or gun and that is the end of them. I know they are trained soldiers used to being in danger but on your home turf you should have the benefit of full protection at all times.

Yeah, the horse is fine. They sometimes do that with the bit. If the horse was stressed, which I don't think the horse was because they are trained and selected for their temperament, it's from all the tourists milling around. It was presumptive to think the horse needed a tourist to assist. You can see it clearly at 4:23 that the bit is fine. They get bored and hot like everyone else. That horse plays with it's bit all the time. It likes to hook it's lip on the hardware and fiddle with it. The guard is fully aware of this. It would not have "been a courtesy" to try and tell the guard. You are not to distract the Royal Mounted Guard by attempting to speak to them - they will not speak to anyone except under the most extenuating circumstances and you can rest assured it would be a very LOUD talk and they will not answer you if you attempt to explain yourself. Normally a police officer will show up and escort anyone who the guard addresses away from the area. She got real lucky that day that she got away with not only touching the horse's equipment but standing there running her mouth afterward. The officers must have been busy dealing with some other ass and were out of earshot.

No, she should NOT have talked to the guard first. First of all that is a soldier and that soldier is on DUTY. They are not there to chat with know-it-alls. They are not there to chat with anyone. The guards will not talk to you but . . . . they will scream at you if you are stupid. Secondly it is not her place to discuss with the Royal Mounted Guard that she thinks there is a problem with their equipment. Her job is to keep her mouth shut and move along.
The wire attached to the bit is nearly in the horses mouth, the lady was right she doesn't however have the right to touch the horse, poor horse if the guard has to pull back the reins it will hurt the horses mouth. If someone had told her without trying to touch she could have pushed the emergency button to get someone out to fix it, it would only take a minute.

So many comments and complaints about the ignorant woman trying to fix the bit, and yes i agree totally stupid move. however i never see anyone from the kings guard come out to make sure the bit is correct. It's rather obvious from the beginning that the horse is fussing with it's bit on it's right side from the beginning. It's even giving indications to people that it wants something done to it's bridal on that side. I think the poor horse was disappointed at the one woman who looks to come close to accidently shifting the bit when her hand runs over the side of his mouth at the bit. I hope the poor horse got some relief soon after that video cut.
Until something is done about the close proximity of the tourists to the touching of the horse and reins this will continue and continue. There needs to be a point where these pesky tourists do not step over!!

When I used to live in London you were not even allowed to touch the horses... if they touched you fine, but you them no. And she has to walk past the sign that says do not touch the reins ... you do not touch the tack of another person's horse, same reason you do not pack someone else's parachute. if you think you see something wrong you advise them, if they consent then you adjust it... but that is in day to day life, this is a couple of serving members of the armed forces... yes the horse too it is serving as well.

I don't know much about bridles, but I do know that if the guard didn't pay attention for another couple of seconds, she could have loosened it enough to either hurt the horse or let it fall. And with no bridle, there's little way to control a horse, which is dangerous for the horse, the rider, and every poor soul around them.

What an impudent "Know all" she is! The sign beside her, states the fact, not to touch the reins etc., and she speaks English, so must have read it! There will be a tragedy, and only then will these guards and horses be free from all this cruelty!

No, she should NOT have talked to the guard first. First of all that is a soldier and that soldier is on DUTY. They are not there to chat with know-it-alls. They are not there to chat with anyone. The guards will not talk to you but . . . . they will scream at you if you are stupid. Secondly it is not her place to discuss with the Royal Mounted Guard that she thinks there is a problem with their equipment. Her job is to keep her mouth shut and move along.
The wire attached to the bit is nearly in the horses mouth, the lady was right she doesn't however have the right to touch the horse, poor horse if the guard has to pull back the reins it will hurt the horses mouth. If someone had told her without trying to touch she could have pushed the emergency button to get someone out to fix it, it would only take a minute.
What next? A sign that says ‘don’t touch the reins, bit, bridle, saddle, guard, stirrups…’ the wall is not big enough

So many comments and complaints about the ignorant woman trying to fix the bit, and yes i agree totally stupid move. however i never see anyone from the kings guard come out to make sure the bit is correct. It's rather obvious from the beginning that the horse is fussing with it's bit on it's right side from the beginning. It's even giving indications to people that it wants something done to it's bridal on that side. I think the poor horse was disappointed at the one woman who looks to come close to accidently shifting the bit when her hand runs over the side of his mouth at the bit. I hope the poor horse got some relief soon after that video cut.

If you ask, they're usually okay with people touching the horses, just not the reins, bridle etc. Seems like common sense.
Until something is done about the close proximity of the tourists to the touching of the horse and reins this will continue and continue. There needs to be a point where these pesky tourists do not step over!!
Why let tourists touch the horse at all? Paint a square on the ground for them to stand on for a photo. Why use a trained soldier as a photo prop?
She should have spoken to the guard first and explained the issue - not just barged in.

When I used to live in London you were not even allowed to touch the horses... if they touched you fine, but you them no.
And she has to walk past the sign that says do not touch the reins ... you do not touch the tack of another person's horse, same reason you do not pack someone else's parachute. if you think you see something wrong you advise them, if they consent then you adjust it... but that is in day to day life, this is a couple of serving members of the armed forces... yes the horse too it is serving as well.

I don't know much about bridles, but I do know that if the guard didn't pay attention for another couple of seconds, she could have loosened it enough to either hurt the horse or let it fall.
And with no bridle, there's little way to control a horse, which is dangerous for the horse, the rider, and every poor soul around them.
So where the heck were the police? They usually appear when one of the Guards shout - except when they're actually needed it would appear...
