@@NickRawcliffe Couldn't you just dig iron scrap piles to get the bones? I know the stagbreaker trick works for finding silver, but it might work for iron too.

@@kevincaasi926 You use stagbreaker on the ground and if there's iron or silver veins in the aoe range it shows up as damage numbers/"too hard" allowing you to find ore without having to dig for it/use the wishbone.

With over a 1000 hours in the game myself, I can say with some experience that this was no easy feat... well done and, switching fire arrows to reserve arrows to conserve them.... pro move

you completely skipped over beating plains with bronze gear bruh
You could have just dug under the crypts and got into them that way if you wanted a more immersive experience. I personally clip because it's faster but have done the other method as well when I didn't want to bring fine wood for a chair. Honestly, it would have been faster to race a brass pick, then dig into a crypt, then make an iron pickaxe, then make a stagbreaker, then scout a silver vein and enclose yourself around it with a fire so enemies dont see you, With a silver weapon of your choice you can easily spank yagluth and moder. The hardest part would have also been taken care of if you got into a crypt.

Very nice! One thing that occurred to me is you can use the yag fight to grind out weapons levels
"crypt clipping is too cheaty" proceeds to completely cheese both moder and yagluth

The connection I get when visiting with friends in your server is great, we want to start our own, but wanted to make sure it was the same provider as you to ensure a good connection.

This is so great. I did this myself some months ago and DIED searching for these bones, there were like 12 in all the map and I searched like 80% of it! And now I find this in my YT recommendations. Congratz man! Good job!
I actually farmed iron by killing Oozers, made an iron pickaxe and strip mined a quarter of a mountain to find two silver veins. Yagluth and Bonemass were a piece of cake with the Frostner (even just tanked through bonemass fight, only dodging his attacks). Also nice to have a cape for the mountains. Might have needed more time than you, but totally worth it since you spend most of the time in swamps anyways looking for the bones. So I just did it at night to find Oozers as well and get the iron.

In my first world, I tried to see how far I could get without killing bosses and using the items available from the intended progression, but I only made it up to the iron age (with the chair clip) before I gave that up and started a new world to do a normal run.

I think I mined a witherd bone in the swamp but using the wishbone to find acrap pile it came frome not positive tho
Yeh you know whats weird. When I made this video we tested it several times and didn't find withered bone from scrap piles underground ever. However nowadays it's definitely possible. It could of just been bugged at the time or something but idk what happened honestly.

How did you get the 5 totems to summon yagluth? I personally thought that would be the most difficult part. Did you just sprint in and grab them?

Very cool and very impressive. I like the invention of the term "AI manipulation" to justify the techniques used that isn't taking advantage of glitches, like shooting arrows through roofs and defeating idling bosses.

I can't seem to get my troll to damage the tin veins. Does it have to be the ones with the log in hand? The one that throws rocks doesn't seem to be able to get it done
Yup, gotta be the one with the log.
@@NickRawcliffe actually, I found out by accident it can be the one without the log...you just have to stand right on the tin vein and they have to ground slam it directly.
Got my bronze pickaxe just now. Plan to gear up for the swamp and I DO plan to cheat to get in the sunken crypts with a chair, but otherwise plan to play it straight. Using a stagbreaker to find silver, for instance.

I've come from the future to tell you that ANY troll, with or without a log, can break the metal deposits. Unarmed trolls' regular grab attacks won't reach from on top of the deposit. But a grab from a lower height (ex: next to the deposit, downhill) can damage . Rock throws and two-handed smashes also damage deposits.
How did you find the last boss quickly?
I just got lucky.

The only thing this really proved isn't that you can beat them in reverse, but that you can beat them in reverse if you cheese everything really bad.
A fascinating idea and great fun to watch!
How might you top even this? Maybe, now, you should try the same but, say, only hopping on one leg...(your character I mean - but you could then try it whilst you also are?)? Or you can only kill bosses by throwing fruit at them?

That was my thought as well. And I had an instinctive reaction when I heard a Fuling laugh while he was fighting Yagluth.
Yeh fair point. You can see it in the playlist I linked. It wasn't really a challenge for me though. Just kinda yolo run into a village and run out. But I appreciate your point that I could of included that. I'll bare that in mind for future videos.

Just for future reference, the bonemass fight is significantly easier if you use a blunt weapon like a club. He is weak to blunt damsge and resistant to slash and very resistant to pierce, so bows and swords are doodoo vs him

You could have also prospect with stagbreaker in the swamp to look for the muddy piles underground to find charred bones
I'm surprised you didn't make a mace or hammer to deal with Bonemass, maybe even the frost hammer, since he takes extra damage from it since he's constantly wet.
to be fair you could just tame 2 star wolf and do most of it liek that

The bosses dosent acctually know you are there, they are by code just programed to walk towards you unless they agro on somthing else, this is so they will eventually get a agro on you when they obtain line of sight. This is what speedrunners have been exploiting as they make the bosses unable to get line of sight, ergo the bosses will just center above you as they cant get further towards you, than directly on top of the terrain/structure above you
I feel like ai manipulation is still kinda cheating but after like 300h spent in this game i cant blame you because except for cheese strats you really dont have much of a choice so honestly mad props for achieving this :D👍
So clipping through the crypt is considered too cheesy but what you did to yagluth isn’t. I understand he’s pretty much impossible to beat head on with Bronze Age gear but that method makes it impossible to lose.

Wow, that's nuts. I've got a few hundred hours, and I still haven't beaten The Elder yet... I get much too distracted after building ONE base in the meadows, and then it's like I have to explore every part of every area around me... This is usually what happens with me when I play most open-world games - I'm impressed with how dedicated you are!

@@dr.schlopp4089 my brother and I run a world together, I highly recommend carefully sneaking into the mountains early game for some wolves. Makes quick work of most everything if you just let them passively breed and multiply, super helpful for exploring Black Forest and such

I lead a server of 3 friends into some loopholes straight into bronze like u did skipped the first boss until we had full iron armor n some weapons
Surviving the Gobbos with just bronze armour must be tough. Those little shits hit like trucks, not to mention the flying bugs.

Isn't using stagbreaker to find muddy piles in the swamp another way to try and get withered bones?
Best tip for this or a regular playthrough always get a bee hive right before fighting a boss you'll thank me
