Charlie X reminds me of (your so-called loving god) the god of the bible. "Bow down and worship me and give me attention or I will destroy you along with casting you into hades."
Don't bother quoting scripture to me. I am a former christian who walked away from the christian lie 15 years ago. In otherwords. Already been there and done that and do not want to do that again. Returning to christianity would be like going back to an abusive spouse.

Yeoman Rand played Grace Lee Whitney was sexually assaulted in real life by a Studio Executive---3] Whitney appeared in eight of the first fifteen episodes, after which she was released from contract. She had claimed that, while still under contract, she was sexually assaulted by an executive associated with the series.[4] Later, in a public interview, she stated that Leonard Nimoy had been her main source of support during that time. She went into more details about the assault in her book The Longest Trek, but refused to name the executive, saying in the book, "This is my story, not his."[1]

Yes, the attempted rape scene in The Enemy Within was, unfortunately, a premonition of what was to come for her in real life, which makes this all the more disturbing.

What studios got away with then vs political correctness now astounds me even in light of Purintanical Film Codes then. Comic Books were subject to a censorship code from 1950s to 1980s.

@@raytylicki9001 Yeah, there is a misconception that Hollywood was innocent back then just because of the production code. If anything, they got away with a lot more than they do now.

I enjoyed watching this episode. I understood Charlie's frustration for failing to befriend a woman he wanted because I had experienced this situation. I never had love with a woman until I was 39 years old. 😱
Teenage boy Charlie is an Incel. He had been alone on the planet and cared for by the guardian. He gave him power. Once aboard the Enterprises, he was not accustomed to the social environment, especially women. Charlie tried hard to befriend the woman he wanted. He got upset after the woman rejected him. That led to the destruction of everything. He felt frustrated, and a guardian finally took him away. Holy Incel power, Batman! 😲

All of Whitney's scenes were shot during the summer of 1966. She was 36 and a Hollywood veteran. She was informed on September 1st that her character was being eliminated, but she was under contract for one more episode. So, she came in to work, hung over, to shoot that final scene, she said. She was so devastated, she tried to kill herself with alcohol. Roddenberry admitted decades later that he made a mistake by firing her. She ended up working as a receptionist to pay the bills.

The Black Mirror Trek parody, USS Callister, refers back to the face blanking scene - and it's even more chilling. Meanwhile, Trek refers back to Twilight Zone's A Good Life (which someone here mentioned). IMO Charlie is one of the nastiest characters in the original series.
