Nice video! My local dealer is recommending the Short Shaft instead of Extra Short Shaft for my 15.5 inch transom height. They mentioned the additional length would be helpful in choppy water conditions there would be more chance of the prop coming further out of the water and then unit will begin to lose performance since one blade is no longer catching all of the water it needs to in order to move the boat forward --especially when encountering waves from other boats or wind blown chop. Did you have this experience with Extra Short Shaft unit?

    Does this take on water?

So under normal circumstances, it does not. Any water that comes inside is drained through the drain holes in the sides. It is a self draining cockpit.

Sir how many hours the battery last if we go 4 knots ? Do it ha solar charging point while trolling?

You can expect about 4-5 hours at 4 knots, depending on conditions. You can have 180w of solar input to the battery through Epropulsion’s Solar Charge Adapter.

What's better this or a Gheenoe?

It depends. I’ve used both and if you are near shore and not needing to make long runs and you don’t want to worry about oyster bars damaging your boat, go with the Skanu. If you want to plane and make faster longer runs, go with the Gheenoe. From experience the Gheenoe can be a little more fragile when you hit stuff or in rough conditions. I once cracked a Gheenoe 10 miles out at Flamingo and had to stay on plane with the plug out so the water coming in equaled the water going out all the way back to the ramp 😬.

@@skybluadventures4649 are those Skanu foam filled can they sink?

@@koolone3791 They are not foam filled, thus, my guess is yes, it would sink if you got water in the hull. I added multiple pieces of 2" foam in the hull. The good news is, you can get alot of foam in it, as you have access to the hull.
