It's great that you are actually showing everyone how to get to these builds. As these builds aren't great for newer players, or even characters at level 70-80.
I have a guide today to get some of the best builds, but most of them don’t really become great until about mid-game. I mainly do late game/NG+ builds.
Another awesome tutorial! I’ve been crushing my Mage and Assassin builds, thanks in great part to your videos. But….. have yet to create a real Warrior (strength) build. Now I have your guide for it!! Can’t wait to see your full walkthrough video tomorrow, with the WHERE and HOW for everything! Thanks again!!!
Tbh my absolute fav build type in Elden Ring! I’m actually going into DLC with either my strength/faith character or my pure strength build (my current character rn) great video btw!! 🤘🏽
Your Greatsword build is godly. I beat the game using the Moonveil/Uchigatana combo. Poorly otmized stats and abilities (I had no clue). I tried your Dark Moon Greatsword build but it wasn't for me. Too much cast, too much buff prep. This Greatsword + Lion Ashen of War is awesome. And I can wear good looking armor for once. Loving it! I can't wait for your next builds once DLC hits live.
My GS build with Giant Hunt is still smacking on ng+6, and it takes advantage of the reach and peirce damage. It also knocks down many enemies, and is boosted by the spear talisman.
Yo, Matt! Figured I'd give a watch and chime-in. Ruins Greatsword: You know, I wanna like this weapon, but in my experiences with it, it just feels underwhelming. I've got to agree with you that you definitely feel the fall off in deep NG+. Starscourge Greatsword: Honestly, I'm not a huge fan of the hype of it. I've never done a full run with it and just find it feeling a bit lacking, but that's just me personally. Bloodhound's Claws: Now we're talking. Honestly, one of my favorite weapons in the game and find Claws pretty underrated. Love to see it. Star Fists: MY MAN! Honestly, Star Fists are busted and I hope From never nerfs them. They're such fun. PS: They trigger successive hit buffs in one heavy attack because they hit twice. Grave Scythe: Let's go! Honestly, really fun. Also, if you wanted a less committal Weapon Skill, that set-up could also work with Spinning Weapon. Rusted Anchor: Have yet to try it but I am definitely curious to try it and it looks like... "a boatload of fun." Giant-Crusher: Like the Rusted Anchor, I want to give it a run some time. Looks completely nutty in the best way. Greatsword with Lion's Claw: You know, it's old reliable. Gotta respect it though the set-up does bore me at this point. At any rate, fun list, Matt. See you later.
Thanks for the input! And yeah the Star Fists & Iron ball are solid strength builds that are less used. Fist weapons are great but I think the short reach can make it difficult for some players. Spinning weapon is fun, just doesn’t have the range of spinning strikes. They’re both really good though for sure. 🤘
Going through the game as A Str Lionsclaw/Guts Sword build myself atm. Honestly it might be my fav. Build style yet lol. That Sword has not let me down!
Yo Lions claw is underrated. Comes out pretty quick staggers a lot, and if you really want, you can spam the boy usually stun lock em. It's kinda ruthless.
Really appreciate the builds as someone who is just getting into elden ring; Question about the giant crusher setup; I noticed in your top 40 builds video from a month ago you recommended a fire variant of the crusher with fire buffs like the fire scorpion and flame tear, which version will give a higher per bonk hit? Heavy or fire? Did you determine that heavy and full physical was better than the fire variant after all?
Thanks! And totally depends on enemy. Fire is a good damage type for many bosses & offers more AR and it’s easier to buff. But physical damage is more reliable as a whole.
Is blood affinity really not as good on rusted anchor? I don’t know but 101 blood loss build up is pretty good, also some of the talismans don’t make sense in my opinion, like why no axe talisman? And I wouldn’t know but there is a better armor set for that endurance, right?
For some reason I really like guts greatsword against bosses, but as a weapon for a long play through against normal enemies idk I don’t like it as much, maybe cus the lions claw uses so much fp I feel like I can’t use it as much as I want to and it don’t like the regular move set, great against bosses tho
hey man! may I ask why are you using 15 dex for the Lion's Claw Greatsword build? I see lots of people saying it's not needed to put the extra points into dex if you're using the hero class
I was doing dual katana + bleed on 100% but tbh i think i will do strength dual weild Giant Crusher build, stats are same for Dual Giant crusher? And also need to go ng+ for second giant crusher yep?
Hey guys! I am new player and curious to why he uses 2 talisman's that buff when at max hp? Is it because he is a very good player and does not take damage often? should new players steer clear from these?
I’m on NG+7 for these but stay at 150. They do for sure. You can actually switch to quality & occult for the giant crusher at higher levels for more AR.
For buffs like Golden Vow & FGMS (base faith is 15-23). Sometimes for Howl of Shabriri too. Generally you can add 40% or more damage to your build from faith buffs.
I keep it because a lot of strength weapons need 10-15 (depending on weapon). That way I never have to respec for a few points in Dex. Even GUTS needs 12, but if you’re going giant-crusher or colossal (for the most part) you can ignore dexterity. An example btw is bloodhound’s claws. Amazing in heavy, but you’ll need around 15 Dex.
It’s the big greatsword in the game. It’s heavily influenced by GUTS from the anime Berzerk (Miyazaki is a huge fan of the sword). So it’s known by the community as GUTS’ Greatsword.
U dont think its better to give Lion Claw ash to your Giant Crusher Hammer? When u add this Lion Claw Ash its goiiing to S for Strength, is that not better?
It typically has a shorter reach. The advantage of GUTS is the extra reach when using lion’s claw. Giant crusher is best with RKR, and it has its own unique flip on the R2/RT.
@@AverageGamerMatt Thanks for answer, 3 more questions and i know everything 1. I was doing dual katana + bleed on 100% but tbh i think i will do strength dual weild Giant Crusher build, stats are same for Dual Giant crusher? They are not changing? And also need to go ng+ for second giant crusher yep or somebody need to give it to me when they invite me to world? 2. When i did 60, Strength 70 Faith 25, Mind 20 rest is goiing to Endurance when i will play DLC and i will keep up or where rest points go? 3. This Arsenal Charm Talisman is only to not be heavy load and when i reach around 35 Endurance my Talismans lookiing like that Erdtree's Favor +2, Ritual Sword, Axe Talisman,Ritual Shield ? Personally u dont think itis better to give for some of this Green Turtle talisman for stamina? Its very good i think i was using this on my dual katana bleed. What is best Talismans for this Dual Giant Crusher build looks like?
@@Rumb4o dual giant crusher you just need to level endurance, strength & vigor really. Green turtle is good but there’s consumables that do the same thing & stamina tear too. You’ll ideally want the ritual sword, axe, Erdtree’s favor +2 & maybe claw talisman. You’d get a lot of damage out of jumps wielding 2 of those. Just need a lot of endurance, probably 40+ if you want to have medium armor & 51 poise.
@@AverageGamerMatt So the stats looking the same but more endurance with dual +40 ye? Vigor: 60, Strength 70 Faith 25, Mind 20, Rest Endurance, 40 minimum?

Dose the giant hammer one not work on the fire giant
If you mean hitting any non-weak point, physical damage will always do way less for him. You have to hit his ankle, hands, face or eye (weak points).
I'm wondering why using flame grant me strength instead of howl of shabriri for the rkr. You're not going any fire damage so isn't howl better?
Howl is 5% better (FGMS increases physical damage as well by 20%). But howl is also more faith requirements which can be tight at RL 150.

No great shield + one hander guard counter build?
Nah I’m not much of a guard counter type player lol
Is arsenal charm better than the jar 1 for equipment load?
