Man does your stop pin screws have to be loose to have a decent action on yours? I just got the vg10 version and when I first got it the blade was way off center so I went to check to see if the screws where tight and they where loose on the stop pin ones and when I tighten them up it messes the action up big time, l'm not over tightening them either. I can see a gap like the stop pin isn't the right size length. Just curious if you had the same problems on the k390 version or maybe they fixed the problem?
Try bending the lockbar over a bit further, will increase the detent (which I like) but the increased lockbar tension will also strengthen the lockup allowing you to loosen the pivot up a bit more to get that nice action without getting side to side blade play. That’s kinda my go to on compression locks which I’m having trouble getting good action with good lockup and unlike with a frame or liner lock it won’t hinder the closing action since by its nature you are holding the lockbar off the blade when closing
@ Ok I did that and the stop pin is actually to short to match the standoffs to make everything even it’s like .017 of a inch,so I finally found a super small snap ring and put around the non loc bar side because it doesn’t fit under the lock bar side scale BUT after all that the blade gets perfectly center and has the right amount of tension for no side to side play with good detent. I can’t believe Spyderco would let that issue go on without cq fix. They need to put a floating stop pin that is the right size in them like some of their models. Anyway thanks for the help bro!
What a classic little big knife. If it came in a righteous steel like K390, it's be a must-have.
Thanks for dropping by and checking out this video!
Just announced! Should be out soon
I’ve got one in K390 on preorder with KnifeCenter. The wait is brutal!
Spyderco lost their dang minds with this $180 vg10!special. Lol 😮
I do too but not for 176.00 with a VG10 Blade Steel. You would think Spyderco would have least put s30v blade steel for that price
Or CTS-BD1N
