Amazing story. Amazing video!! What's the status as of August 2023? I guess it's much more sealed off now ? - with the future plans of the reopening in mind..
I am fascinated by the S-Bahn and railways in Berlin and it’s history and lines and the parts of it that are abandoned, much of which is untouched and largely unimpeded even after decades of development. The Siemensbahn from the Spree to Gartenfeld is apparently protected as a historical monument and there are even mutterings of it being reinstated to serve the new Siemens research campus in Siemensstadt, which would be really interesting but only if they retain or replace all the steel bridgework which is so iconic. The buildings alone deserve preservation, Gartenfeld is a really good example of German 1920s architecture style.
Well done documentary, nice how you follow the tracks when arriving at a station so it feels like it's an S-Bahn! Wow though, that seems like quite a bit of work to clean up, repair and renew in order to take it back into service; guess that's why it will take a decade (well that and politics, planning etc :)
Wow, this is really well made ! Excellent video of this gem of Berlin abandonment.
Amazing video 🤩👌🏼

Thanks Mark. I fully agree!
@@AbandonedBerlinFilms you might try talking to TH-cam user @Kingl3r as he has done videos of other abandoned road and rail infrastructure in Berlin

How many stations are abandoned at this line?
Siemensbahn in planed to be reopened with S-Bahn service from 2029. First works on the old infrastructure already have began.
Can you easily enter there or it is a big fence and guards?
It's very easy to enter.
@@AbandonedBerlinFilms vielen dank,I'll go there in the spring
