And one lineup was disbanded when Dave got hurt. Everyone else choose to leave on their own. Now, we can chock that up to many things, like touring schedule, or a player doesn't feel creatively free after a few years, but Dave hasn't fired anyone but Ellefson since the late 90's. The band sounds alot tighter since 2015. Shawn's robotic drumming was ruining the energy back then. Every drum parts get simplified and tempo was slower. They should release official live album with the current line up and with a long setlist like this one!
I had the same thoughts and to be honest I didn't understand why Dave let Shawn in the band for a decade, even the most minuscule of drum fills got simplified like what the hell bro.
@@metalisandman There's an interview with Jeff Waters from many years ago which he mentioned Dave actually asked him to join in 2004 but he seems to implied that Megadeth management advised him to get an unknown musicians instead of established musician cause unknown musicians means lower paycheck. David also mentioned in some interviews (while still the band) that he needs to agree with much lower paycheck upon his return. I believe that the fact he said this in public cause Dave resentment towards him. I agree that its frustrating to hear Shawn simplifying everything. I can understand skipping triplet on Holy wars, its not exactly an easy song but skipping double bass fill on songs like Trust & She wolf? really ? He didnt even play the double bass part on Washington's next in concert.
