And another great episode. The videos and pictures are great. AND the history you provide bring the ghost towns back to life. Thank you for your wonderful history on these ghost towns and other places.
This is my first visit to one of your videos….all I can say is terrific!!! I visited Whitney a couple of times in the mid ‘60’s I seem to recall a mill structure was still there. I will have to look through my old slides. Again….terrific job!!
I went through that area last in 2018? One home occupied (dogs -out-front), 2nd on the right off the highway. Three lady-hikers in the car with me but I'm glad I stopped and chatted with last the owner for a bit. Doofus-lovey dog, and angry-dog got over me in a bit and I am so glad I got to chat withe that guy! Stunning-beauitiful country from John Day up through Sumpter!
Been there a couple times. I nicknamed it the "Whitney Mosquito Breeding Grounds". They swarm you when you stop to take pics in Whitney. I gave about 2 pints. (ok, maybe not, but close)
I love that picture of the old logging trucks. Amazing.
I quite enjoy how crucial post offices were to these settlements. Makes my meandering about in a Grumman LLV feel a bit more significant.

A marsh nearby?
@@deanfirnatine7814 there's a couple of meandering creek that wander through that whole valley and its all somewhat marshy grassland.
Whitney is in the Burnt river valley, not the Powder river where Sumpter is. The railroad came up from Unity.
Just love your channel. Deforestation is still a problem. I miss your little subscribe sharp-shooter. 😆 Thank you.
I love the miner version XD I think they alternate around.
No it’s not.
There are more trees than ever and that is causing lots of massive fires here in Oregon.
Can you find anything on Bridgeport Or?
Wow, Sumpter Oregon, go figure?
Can you pick up the pace a little bit….this is boring as hell
