The problem is that they needed to rearrange so that Lewis could do dishes while Sips serves pizza. They needed to put the pizzas right in front of the counter and swap the dishes and sink to the end of the line so that Lewis could do dishes next to the customers and not in Sip's way
Thats the fault of the stupid layout which they complained about every round but never changed. The dining side layout just doesn't work with 2 people no matter how good they are, its not Lewis' fault, it's both lol. With a small layout change they'd easily beat the whole thing easy.
@@GrassFudge7 I was pulling hairs out seeing how Lewis kept making Mushroom Pizzas when they hadnt finished the one already on the tables, while Sips was swamped by orders and mess.
They really slept on the serving trays, Can clean and serve tables much faster. Even if you don't pick up the tray it makes the counter they're sitting on hold two items. Also Lewis basically built a dish cleaning station in the bottom room, and then never used it... He could have used the trays to quickly collect two tables worth of plates, clean them, and then bring them back to sips two at a time. Also I guess Lewis didn't realize he could move the chair layout around. He could have moved the guy blocking the door so that he was sitting on the side of the table instead.
from what i've noticed the thing that always ends runs is when people start to panic and stop doing things when everyone is doing ... something, then the restaurant just works perfectly but the second someone just starts to stand around doing nothing either because they are looking at someone else or they are just waiting for something, then the entire restaurant starts going to shit you can clearly see it when lewis just stops paying attention to his pizzas and lets them burn because he's looking at sips or cleaning the floor for no reason or when lewis is cleaning the dishes and sips just stops working completely even though there are still dirty plates on the tables and free napkins that could be put on the same tables but instead of doing that he is hyperfocused on delivering the pizzas even though there is still a lot of time left for delivering it was a great attempt tho
I think the layout was the downfall, lewis’s pizza production speed was pretty good but they needed a better way to wash up plates imo. Both played well and this game is still super entertaining to watch
Yeah, after the first day in this video I so wanted them to put a sink in the research desk but they did tables and counters but they really surprised me with how well they did anyway I know im not that good yet. Also they could have moved things around so lewis could have washed from the kitchen and the number of counters for each would have been the same.
Washing the plates was their biggest issue in part 1 and at no point did they change anything about that process. Oh well. It's probably easier to see the biggest problem from a 3rd party perspective.
Swapping the plate rack & the dirty dish rack would've let Lewis wash plates from the kitchen, even if it was just one at a time, but really they needed to unblock the door
Also having some of the tables in a way that could only serve one person can really screw you over, because one person can easily ocuppy table for two, but two can't use the table for one. So you can have people waiting outside for a table even though you have free table. And I think the outside countdown timer is the shortest one (you can at least fully reset the other timers by taking the order, or delivering food).
Agreed. There just wasn't enough room for washing the dishes. Any time Lewis had to go help with them was wasted by him body-blocking any possibility of serving. They could have moved ALL their counters along the top wall and have a table near the kitchen opening. Have the sink/dishes in the top-left corner, where it's nice an open.
I’m so glad you two did this AND made this channel. Without the stress of the main channel it just makes this little series great. Feels like this brings them back to their roots like when I first started watching 10+ years ago 😭
Lol they definitely panicked at the end there Lewis tunnel visioned and made too many pizzas and sips forgot to actually take orders in the last minute
Lewis literally stands and waits by the oven...then runs to the opposite end of the restaurant the second the food is ready...does lewis not know how to cook?
WHAAAAAAAT??!! So I binged this series last night (for a bit, so I could continue today) only to find out this is the last episode?? What a shame, we need more... This is great stuff, you two😁
They really needed to have changed their dish washing set up. Also to have switched up the chair set up so the guy didn’t block the way for Lewis in and out of the kitchen the whole damn time.
The fact Sips basically co-opted half of the kitchen as a pizza preparation station was hell to watch lmao Lewis just making pizzas in the fucking sink then spending half the game on the floor trying to deal with the absolute mess of a restaurant they created and then every time they actually get another counter Sips uses his jedi mind powers on Lewis to force him to put it outside... yikes
I think what really helped with this run is simply not having any side dishes. Pizza worked out well because many of the extras are just "new topping option". It adds a tiny amount of work to the kitchen (chopping the new ingredient) and takes up a tiny amount of extra space, but that's it. Compare that to the cheese board, which adds 3 new ingredients to prep and the platter - it's clear which is tougher to do.
If they had swapped the plates and dirty dish rack then Lewis could've washed plates from inside the kitchen instead of going all the way around and getting in Sips's way and they would've survived the final round. It was still fun to watch though, I hope they keep doing more of this and that cops and robbers game.
In hindsight they should have moved the dirty and clean dish racks on either side of the bottle neck window with a counter between them. That way Lewis could have washed and shelfed them without coming through. But Sips would have needed to move the Pizza he placed on the counter between.
When people play this type of game and don't pay attention to what they're supposed to be doing, it's the most infuriating thing to me. But overall, I think Lewis and Sips did well, made me scream sometimes though Lewis forgetting the pizza in the oven, trashing items he didn't need to trash, running out of the kitchen Sips not washing the dishes, not managing orders efficiently, getting distracted that's what generally makes people lose, is when someone gets distracted if you can't do 'X' something because you have to wait, try to get 'Y' done, don't stand around if you can't serve the right pizza yet, wash the dishes while you wait if someone's waiting outside, clear the tables as fast as possible It's a lot of stuff to do, and I know the panic can build up fast keep up the good work!
Back seating a bit but the dirty dish rack really should have swapped place with empty plate rack. Lewis has no need to plate up the pizza himself so being able to access plates from the kitchen is useless. If he has dirty rack instead he can help with washing the dish without ever leaving the kitchen.
@@-yake- Optimal setup would be dirty rack and clean rack set up right next to the service counter and then squeeze one counter in for pizza. So to serve, Lewis puts out a pizza and Sips must immediately move it to a new counter. Then he can clean the plates in the back sink. Sips shouldn't even have a sink tbh he clearly had way too much
They did a great job to get to the last level, but I blame the loss there on Lewis tunnel-visioning at the end. He focused way too much on making pizzas. Given that he had so many extras, it was clear that production wasn't the issue, it was getting people in and out the door, which Sips could not have possibly handled alone. Still a very entertaining run to watch.
What killed you at the end was the hidden orders. Sips had 2 2 person tables waiting for their orders taken. He would have needed to take those orders earlier and plan out his serving a bit better to know what tables needed what... but he wasn't doing that due to it all getting too hard to keep track of.
Love how things go so wrong once Lewis leaves the kitchen lol
The last day they lost because Lewis wouldn't leave the kitchen tho
@@squegeemcgee2403 yeah because he's bad at prioritizing. The one time sips actually needs him and he stays in the kitchen

I love the thought of your out to get pizza and you hear, yo this guy wants mushroom pizza get it out of the sink.
hahah, that made me snort
They died the way that they lived; with 2 mushroom pizzas in the sink.
33:30 Lewis doing napkins while they're drowning in orders had me dying.
Lewis: I've got a table cloth here makes the whole table order the same thing, this could be handy
Also Lewis: makes it a 1 person table
To be fair, the whole table did order the same thing.
It also shrinks the table size by one, it was a 2 seater previously. Easy mistake to make
@@adamcaldwell5646 I thought he placed it higher as the top.seat was on the other table all of a sudden
Every time Lewis tries to move over to help they almost lose.
Lewis basically setup a washing station in the storage room, and then proceeded to never use it, instead using the sink that stops sips from serving.
And the one time he stays in the kitchen too long they do lose
@@GrassFudge7 lol. Too true. I mean I get the panic this game causes, but sometimes lewis too good guy.

"Do you need a practice run for the tray?" "No I'll figure it out. Tray stand I just dont understand, I'll get rid of it"
They really slept on the serving trays, Can clean and serve tables much faster. Even if you don't pick up the tray it makes the counter they're sitting on hold two items. They didn't sleep on it as much as never figured out how to use it as Sips kept saying. They knew it was a good if you knew how to use it.
Once again the lack of practice runs to figure something out.
I think this was recorded pre launch so the try didn't get loaded while on a counter. But not sure
cant move around the table layout with simple cloth, the 2 people need to face each other.
Seeing Lewis managing the restaurant I am glad Yogscast is still going well :)
from what i've noticed the thing that always ends runs is when people start to panic and stop doing things
when everyone is doing ... something, then the restaurant just works perfectly but the second someone just starts to stand around doing nothing either because they are looking at someone else or they are just waiting for something, then the entire restaurant starts going to shit

You can really tell that Sips is a dad with the calmness he maintains when telling Lewis for the fifteenth time "Don't put plates there" XD
I think the layout was the downfall, lewis’s pizza production speed was pretty good but they needed a better way to wash up plates imo. Both played well and this game is still super entertaining to watch
