This is rad! The only constructive criticism I may add is that there should be clove hitches or girth hitches tied more often with the paracord. If you lose 1 strand your entire net can go slack this way. I'm gonna upload a video soon where I show what I'm talking about in this comment :)
They could use longer sections of line, but somebody would have to show the guy doing this how to load up a fisherman's needle that is used for making and repairing nets. That lets you keep a good length of line bundled up fairly neat, while still being able to feed it through something like this quickly.
I think you might have answered some of my questions about making the spiral in this video with the perimeter and then the small loops working in towards the center good on you mate
6:22 watching this I couldn’t help but think…. Rather than pull 10ft at a time and having to tie ten 10ft sections to make 100ft wrapped… Wouldn’t it be easier to wrap 100’ ft onto a toggle/spool and then feed/wrap/weave the whole wrapped spool along and unwrap the rope from the spool as you go?… I think that’d go much quicker than pulling the 10’ length of rope thru each wrap/knot/weave and stopping every 10’ to cut another 10’ length and tie a knot (plus a cleaner look without all those overhands)… Let charlie know
charlie and i tried that one time. lets just say, the spool was too big to fit through the holes at a point, and so we had to just unravel it. wasnt fun weaving with a 200 ft climbing rope. :'D
Late to the party, but what is needed is a fisherman's needle that is used for making and repairing nets. May not hold quite a much as a spool, but definitely holds more than 10ft and is designed to fit through fairly narrow gaps. (Generally its width sets the gage of the netting, but most would be smaller than the holes seen in this video.)
assuming 550 paracord: 550lbf, divided by 2 for the bend/knot, minus the tension on the cord. That would give you a rough idea for the strength at an individual point. Then it depends how it's loaded as to how much tension is on an idividual cord.
So this one's just for decoration? Ik you don't want a solid strand for some high up hammock fort type a thing inless you tie each weave off... I'm not an expert I just know knots lmao shibaris a hobby heights aren't but I still want one of these web forts I might be able to conquer um😅😅😬😑
I thought you want anchors every time you touch a “skeleton”, no? If one of those sections get cut the hole section fails instead of a knot knot strand.
You should probably get off the internet, the demand you create by geing here contributes to the need fir server farms, which is full of parts that create toxic e-waste, also rampant energy needs contributing to pollution as well.
Check out our new store! hownot2.store/
This was so tedious. And i was only helping for 4 nets. But i learned a lot, and Charlie is a net genius.
I cant wait to walk the net line

I noticed that also. Even if no one fell through it would take a long time to repair. Looking forward to your video.
I used a chainlink weave and 1200 feet of paracord to make a ten foot purse hammock (big beefy carabiner at each end). Took me about 6 hours.

This was so informative. Thank you for posting all the details. It really makes a difference.

Or you could store it in a tight figure 8 and work from the inside end so it stays tied

How many hours does it take to weave one square?
This is inspiring 👏
Where does the rope come from?
What is the purple stuff made of that's framing it out?
spansets or round slings or some other name depending on the industry.
will try this :) thanks guys
How strong are spacenets?

What is ggby?
My only criticism is I think they need lighter leashes to burn those frayed ends :v
S/o Tree Net Willy

this is cool but looks expensive
How knot to highline hahaha
And eventually the plastic will contaminate the ground below.

hippies
Fair. Charlie definitely fits the description, but the net thing is cool.
