Step into the world of motorcycle maintenance with me as I take you on a journey through the intricacies of changing the wheel bearing on my TVS Apache RTR 2004v, a process applicable to the Apache 160 4v as well.
In the opening scenes, I guide you through the first crucial step: removing the front wheel from the bike. As the wheel comes off, we're immediately plunged into the heart of the matter: assessing the condition of the wheel bearing. I emphasize the subtleties of bearing issues, cautioning against mistaking them for handle problems such as vibration or noise. It's a lesson I learned firsthand, as my own bearing troubles initially seemed like handle woes.
With clarity established, we delve deeper. Behind the dust seal lies the key to our maintenance mission: the bearing itself. Removing the seal reveals the pathway to access and address the bearing directly. Armed with the right tools, I demonstrate the meticulous process of bearing removal, ensuring precision and care every step of the way.
But our journey doesn't end with mere mechanics. I weave in essential knowledge about bearing specifications, shedding light on the pitfalls often encountered in garages. Rubber seal bearings, though commonly used, prove unsuitable for motorcycle applications due to their inability to dissipate heat and protect against dust and water. Through clear explanations, we dissect the differences between rubber and metal seals, single and double-sided sealing, empowering viewers to make informed decisions about their motorcycle maintenance.

Metal shield bearings is only for highspeed mechinery they wont stop moisture and dust as rubber sealed bearings, why metal sheild for high speed mechinery becoz it can withstand heat generated by friction,so use rubber seal bearing as manufaturers recomends

handle wobble ho sakta hai, nehi vi ho sakta hai, but bearing kharap hoga to bohut easily pata chal jata hai, bas fork ko pakad ke wheel to hilao, video me jaisa mya kiya, thora vi bearing worn out rahega to pata lag jayega,

@@mr.z8188 bearing needs to be lubricate, double sided sealed bearing would not allow that, but in case of emergency, you can use a double sided bearing, bearing comes with pre lubrication while manufactured, so a new bearing will works fine until the lubrication dries, after then it will start heating up and will damage quickly, and only damage the bearing, other component of your bike will remain safe.

Thank you for the response. If I bought rubber seal should I have to lubricate it with grease once a while after running few kms? Because I've never changed both my front and rear wheel bearing right from I bought the bike. Neither I lubricate it not even once. It ran for more than 80k kms. Now I'm replacing it because the front wheel is getting wobbly.

2z bearing mean double sided sealing, Then you can not use it.
But if old bearing is too much damaged, you can install and use it as emergency, till you find a single sided sealed bearing.

Yes bro it is sealed double sided. I'm not changing for emergency it's for regular use only. Should I return this bearing and change with single side. And also can you explain why?
