Thanks for another great video! Just as a heads up, I've been making things like the pole in this video cloth objects and using the "Mix Animation" with pins set to 100. That lets you make something effectively a dumb cloth object that wont deform but can use the connectors. It does add to calculation, but holy shit this is so much nicer than cloth belts it's unreal. I'd also add that I've found the collider behavior can be really strange. So if I have like a hand that needs to interact with cloth, I also make it a pinned cloth object and then the collision behavior seems drastically more stable.
@3DBONFIRE thx for showing that technic, really nice tricks, but when I put the baked cloth animation into my cloth surface to extrude it, my textures start slipping... you have a fix for that?
I love what you do - I have been on the fence about subscribing to your patron - the one thing that is holding me back is the render I’m using is redshift - is this something that really doesn’t matter ?? - thanks
Hi Josh, I get your point. The thing is: In most of my videos I only build basic (but cool looking) shaders in octane and the lighting rules are just universal. So in my opinion, it´s not a huge drawback and I know a lot of my patrons who actually use redshift. But hey: I´m learning Redshift right now, so i guess in the future, there will also be some redshift content on my patreon.
Using RS too, but the point is in the scene setup, any other basic redshift tutorial should be enough for you to replicate the same thing, but you can also be creative and personalise it))
@@3DBONFIRE Wait. Do you have Octane being stable in 2023? Did I miss an update - running to check now. I'm stuck in 26 because Octane and 2023 has been shaky for me.
I am in the process of making the pole will be dragged by the flag, to reduce turbulence and using domain doesn't work, you have no problem, is this why?
Ok, does need cloth tag I found out, to use connector. But I did make my pole/cylinder stiff by enabling soft body and set softness to 0 and on Mix Animation tab, enable “with pins”.
The subscription model for x particles(you need to rent ALL of their plugins as a package even if you dont need anything else than xparticles) makes me sad because i love xparticles but that buisness model is just sh!#. So native xparticles or similar system would be amazing
😔... I think my simulation for the flag was pretty clean by the end but I increased substeps and collision iterations . Also some damping and I played with cloth thickness.
🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨 Cloth tag is not working with cloner as it should, like shown in here. Can someone help me wit it. I also tried to convert plains into poly, but nothing seems to be working. Its C4d R25.
🤣...i mean, yes... there is a huge demand to make client´s powerpoints look fancy. I know "pain" jobs, too. But I think it´s important to chase after the "amazing" jobs, when you saved some money from painful work. You could build an amazing portfolio with cool cloth/softbody/particles stuff and show it to your existing clients and -of course- to new ones, and maybe soon you will get a "abstract cloth sim" job💪
@@3DBONFIRE Yeah for sure. Got to improve and show 'em your skills or you'll be powerpointing forever. Joey Korenman from SchoolOfM talked about ....shit jobs and rainbow jobs.... Sometimes I try to through a rainbow into my shit jobs too

I've been looking for videos on worlds 3d motion for over two months. Thank you.
Nice to know the new way of pinning. Thanks
Yeah its way faster to use
Nice, I always pinned my cloth objects using the belt tag. This is a very nice technique. Thanks for sharing.

Love it.
great video! i really like your choice of colors and the chaotic look! but you somehow managed to say "okay" 20 times in just under 4 minutes! :D
Yeah, the "okey-factor" is absolutely annoying! Thanks, in my latest tutorial I was able to reduce it by maybe...85% 🥴☺

I want to learn more details of this tutorial from modeling to last-render . Do you have full this tutorial on your "Knight" patreon?
I have a tutorial where I break down my scenefile. But its not a complete step by step
😍😍
When I apply the cloth tag my plane don’t fall off or be affected by any force, how can I fix it ¿😢🙏

Great tut. But when I use the connector with a spline it doesn’t have to have a cloth or rope tag, it works. I will try with an object though!

I would love for Maxon to include fluid sim native in C4D without the need for 3rd party plugins
The CEO of maxon actually leaked some particles simulation stuff on twitter, so i guess they will release that in the next releases

friend, how to make the cylinder of the flag stay straight and not bend🤔
i think you need to go into the cloth tag on the pole, and go to "mix animation" and set for example pins to 100%
I made some cloth hair strips with 2023 for a character, and found that there was no way to keep the strips from passing through each other.
