Great job man! Had to replace the rattling dmf on my Ulysse and the job took a lot more than 2 hours. Also, that gearbox is damn heavy, you have some strenght.
It's such a hard work especially with tiny stuffed up complicated place like that , And I would rather replacing the pilot ball bearing too , well done sir ....all respect .
You are the MAN, you rule mate. Greetings from Poland, right now I am working with DS 4. That's massacre. Diffrent engine's equipment. More complicated than C4. I really don't know why PSA make it like that....
The right tool is half the job. Like your choice in tools, especially the mac tool swirvel socket, boy it comes in handy a lot. Best regards a big fan👍
Bruteforce 08 you’re absolutely right. That’s what I always say to a lot of people who says to me they’re gonna tackle some of these repairs. Advice is make sure you have the right tools. Otherwise it’s gonna be a very long night
Hi Kevin! it's a good job. On the other hand, when you wanted to separate a ball joint, you hit the brake disc twice with your hammer. Maybe we should start using the ball joint puller. Thanks a lot mate !
If you tell me at what point in the video did I hit the disc. Reality of me doing the job I have no recollection of that happening. Maybe your knowledge is technical rather than practical. I’m happy with my hammer and my aim MR Abis Ismael. Feel free to use your ball joint puller I’m sure it’s call a splitter tho
I am bad in english i know and you are native english speaker but i think "mate" can also has other meaning. That was i talk about. I had no intention of appearing malicious by making this comment.
Hope you don't throw away the Luk clutch points , get them registered with Repexpert and points mean prizes , all sorts of bits and pieces on there for us boys , another great job well done
mike berry I tried collecting them and registered online but after nearly 6 months I only got an LUK mug..😳😁... so I gave up in the end. Thanks for the feedback
Question for you...doing this everyday what do you do about clutch bolt torque settings?, I know they are usually roughly 20nm on the ones I've done, and to be honest I suppose as long as all bolts are tightened equally then it's probably not going to matter too much? I can always access the spec easily for MGRovers as I've got the data on cd. But when it comes to other cars I struggle to find the spec - like right now I am replacing the clutch on my mums Peugeot and I can't find any torque spec at all.
Hi Alexandru. I still use the alignment tool. Sometimes if the flywheel is a recess one with the friction plate sitting inside of it then that will be fairly aligned in my opinion and experience... maybe a little tweak or eyeballing may be of use but I’ve never had any issues with the recess flywheel
Hey! Respect and greetings from Bulgaria! I saw you are using miluwaykee one key. Do you make your own torque settings or use it as is. I've just bought the same and trying to get used to it .
Hi, we have put in a new clutch kit, followed as many of these videos as we could find, when the car is not running gears select fine, but not when engine is on. It feels like there is pressure in the pedal when not running, it has been bled within an inch of it's life, could you suggest anything, please?
@@WMCS Hello and thank you for your reply. We compared the old plate to the new, side by side prior to the new installation, it appeared the same. I am hoping it's just air still in the system. As far as I have learned, to bleed the system it is needed to be very thorough, yes?
Have you ever got a DMF where you can't get at the fasteners to remove it due to it being that bad it's twisted and the holes dont line up with the fasteners
Yes plenty of times it happens as the centre bearing has completely collapsed. There are 3 options. 1. Try and find at least one bolt that you can get access to and undo that one until it partially lifts up the pressure plate. That will allow you access to the next one.. until the pressure plate eventually spins back. But it’s a slow process 2. Angle cutting discs. You’ll need at least 4 cutting discs. Circularly cut around the centre bearing of the DMF then circularly cut around the outer side of where the bolts are and you can now have full access to the bolts with the partition out of the way. But it’s hardened metal and extreme extreme extreme caution has to be applied as it can snap the cutting disc or grab the angle grinder from your hands. I can’t stress enough how much caution has to be applied. 3. Hammer and chisel. It will take you about an hour ... to hit the outer edge of the DMF top plate to spin it back into position. You may have to take it in turn with someone else as the shoulder muscle will need lots of rest unless you are used to heavy manual labour. But it does eventually spin back up into place. Hope it goes ok. Let us know how you get on
@@WMCS thankyou for the quick reply, i aren't mobile so i think i will just get the plasma cutter out if it turns out this one im doing now has done that
Ryan Kiernan it’s a MAC tool with a price of £100 but it’s got an impact force of up to 150nm. There’s other impact UJ out there for a fraction of the price. But they only withstand about 30-50nm before the centre pin breaks off.
Why haven't you replaced the crankshaft oil seal ? You saw, however, from the start of the work oil leaking under the car. It's not cool for the owner.
Good one! And rain checking (twice?) the progress again (so some friends) but just a bit, I think. Strange position for the intercooler tube, below the engine. Together, it seemed a laberinth of nuts there below. Not to mention the hidden bolt for the gearbox drain... Was it plastic the oil sump cover? Never seen that. Water on the gearbox mounting support, below the battery? Not nice to see it. It seems it needs a hole to drain it. The new crankshaft seal in green was a plus. Did you have it at hand or did it take long to arrive to you? Also it seems that you refined your technique to get the gearbox in position by lifting the engine jack with your leg. The same about letting just part of the subframe down. Impressive! I hope you keep on doing videos this week. Take care and waiting for next video!
Oscar Montero I’m always impressed with your attention to small details. ...the rain has now been replaced by sunshine which is nice but a bit harder to work in the heat I find .... The real time for this repair was roughly 6 hours with filming time about 8hours ... It looks a bit easy in the video but without the correct approach it could have been easily 10hours without filming. The drain plug was what guided me in my approach to do lower the subframe first as it’s completely hidden inside the subframe otherwise ... I always carry spare parts like guide tubes. Rear main oil seal and other parts and only change if customers agree to it. Sometimes customers flat out refuse any extra because they are on a budget .... Thanks for your input as always. Look forward to the next one.

If you’re 100 sure there is no air in the system and the pedal has full resistance then it’s the wrong clutch kit.
