Hi Heath , Thanks for stopping by, I used a bucket fermenter like the ones you get from Morgans with a lid and airlock. Perfect for first time home brewers.
mate I am making this identical brew, I bought 100g of citra hops and my first time dry hopping and using hops, do you think 20 grams is enough to get a decent flavour or maybe a bit more? The draught has been in fermenter for 3 days, I will dry hop in 2 days time, leave them in there for 4 days and then bottle. Just not sure how much of these to use and how well they will keep in the fridge after opening. I might use the leftovers on a Coopers pale ale.
Hi @michaelb 1 498, I have done this and found no difference in my beers. I guess there are scientific reasons why some people do this and it's probably a good thing. I, myself have yet to have any issues pitching directly without doing a starter. I feel that these days the quality of dry yeast is probably much better than years past and that is why it's not so important for me these days.
@@SimpleHomeBrew it was in reference to your question weather 5g of yeast was enough to brew 23 liters. Yes if you create a starter no issues, if you bloom it with yeast nutrients more than likely. Just pitching in 5g probably not going to get your maximum attenuation. I personally have catered my yeast and DME combos to Cooper's kits now and have had great success with yeast blooming (15 to 20 minute steep at a start temp of 34⁰ C) and getting very positive results
thanks for taking a look at my video, There is link in the captions to the tasting of this beer. I will share that with you now th-cam.com/video/MJiI34gL4gM/w-d-xo.html Much appreciated.
Hi Adam, that's right I use no rinse sanitizer like Stellasan or Starsan. both are great and don't require rinsing at all. I mention it in some of my videos as the saying goes (don't fear the foam). It is very harmful to us as a concentrate, but, as a dilution of about 1000 - 1 it does not harm you at all.
@@SimpleHomeBrew great I need to get me some, I have a tin of Cooper's IPA extract do you recommend using an enhancer for all Cooper's extracts? Last question I promise
@@sylvar0oneAsk away mate. I am happy to answer as long as I now what the answer is. The enhancer makes for more alcohol and creates a better mouth feel meaning it feels soft and smoother when drinking. I do recommend using it as the extract is only the base flavour. You can add different things to enhance the finished product.
@@SimpleHomeBrew I still rinse mine even though I keep hearing you don’t need to. I just can’t quite get it out of my head that it will affect the taste! Like leaving soap suds in your coffee!
Thanks Mate great advice, I did it a little different, as I fill the fermenter I use the extract tin to rinse as I go. Works better than filling with hot water and keeps the wort from being too hot for pitching the yeast. Cheers
Get another lot of hops and put in 1-2days before you bottle. You will lose a lot of the flavour from the hops putting it in straight away. Look into making hop wash. I just bottled a beer that I tried doing the wash and dry hop on day 5 using total of 65grams galaxy. If it turns out any good I will send you a bottle to try if that is allowed lol. Love the vids
I was going to just leave it as is and then make an identical one a week later to try exactly what you suggest. If you want send me a bottle, not a problem. Send it to (Pierre Verhulsdonk 30 McMahon st Traralgon). This is not my home address. I would be interested in what it tasted like. Cheers Pierre
Simple Home Brew kool see how it goes in couple weeks. The only issue I have is the amount of sediment due to the extra malt and hops that is in the bottles. You have any suggestions on how to help with that?

Good afternoon from the uk here 🇬🇧. Hope your well? Looks great, just about to brew this my self coopers draft with brew enhancer 3. Never used the enhancer before. Did you find the brew enhancer made a difference? How did this brew turn out on colour and taste. I have a kegarator I buit so hopefully be great. Happy brewing pal. 🍺🍻🍺🍻🍺
It come out pretty good. I have only brewed this one once so I have no comparison. What did you use instead of Brew Enhancer 3 I believe that the enhancer compliments the beer by giving it a sweeter and thicker feel to the mouth (mouth feel). Hope you like it. Hey from the UK 👋. This will be my first brew apart from the odd cider here and there. Think ill also add some hops in the mix. I was looking for a tasting video for this brew mate but couldn't find one, did you do one and if so can you post a link please.

Dude can totally relate with having a few and falling asleep. Feels great knowing you made it, while enjoying it! Great vid bud!
Thanks, Mate You are so right. Cheers
have you thought about putting the sugar in before the hot water???? makes it so much easier!
Thanks, I have not. I will next brew.
Love all your videos mate! Keep the videos coming very informative and entertaining to watch 🤩
Thanks mate. I always love seeing that kind of feedback. Cheers Pierre
What kind of fermenter u use it looks legit

Yes, absolutely the more the better. I thought the one I did needed a bit more hops for a bigger hit. I think you should experiment with it.
I like your videos, have you though to bloom your yeast or even create a starter for pitching?
