There is no place for capacitive buttons either on the steering wheel or for climate control etc... for atleast the next 10 years! They are a passive safety hazard & unnecessary expensive repair part, where the whole thing has to be taken off or be repaired.
@@mr.wizeguy8995 i have yet to actually drive a car with automatic climate, where you don´t adjust, both my Model Y, my passat B8, our Polo GTI, and all other cars we had had we were hovering around 22-21-20 it just changes. had a EQE for 2 weeks as a tryout car, had the same issue. no cars climate is perfect.

Sadly we don't get SKoda products here in the USA. We could desperately use an inexpensive SUV. At the moment it is typically a Honda CRV or Toyota RAV4, and they are around 35k USD or more.
Skoda has not been a budget VW brand for at least 10 years. Right now I would say VW positions it as more conservative/classic cars. While VW went with touch screens, Skoda still has buttons and knobs etc. They really are not cheaper than VW, just different.

Great to finally see more EVs coming from Skoda. Here's hoping this is cheaper than the Volvo EX30 as the single motor model is a relatively good price for a compact SUEV.
I was looking forward to seeing this, as I wanted a karoq size ,or poss bigger mpv being a gardener, not liking looks inside, too plasticky inside. Think will go with a hybrid instead with more lux feel ,or possibly hold for the Skoda 7. Tak 🌿
I would like to know if this car is equipped with torsion beam or multi link suspension in the rear side ? thank you . Also those who camouflaged the car were very clever: they left the Skoda logo visible on the outside, but hid it from the steering wheel!?
I did not see manual buttons for turning on/off the seat heating, also did not see any temperature control (unless thats one of the sliders under the screen, but then there is no zone control with just one slider). At 1:21 it looks like there might be a sunglasses compartment though?
Seat heating "buttons" are in infotainment visible whole time both lower corner of screen. And temperature setting are also in infotainment which you barely ever need because climate is AUTOMATIC which means set and forget.
If the epiq is supposed to feature the modern solid design language, then I believe what we see here is new face mask. Anything else looks like the current Simply clever design
A screen stuck on the dash looks awful and I find very distracting whilst driving.VW & Skoda should look at other manufacturers too see how they built their screens into the dash.Apart from that I like the car.
@@mihnealazar7039 Well, the center screen an overall layout is visibly very similar to Enyaq and it is very unlikely the performance would be significantly worse than Enyaq has. Despite the camo, the overall proportions and exterior look are very visible and unless one has a specific headlamp fetish (to be honest, Škoda has not had the best record in that aspect), it would be hard to surprise me. Also, I typically drive a car while sitting in it, not looking from outside. I think it will be a very nice small EV.
The children thing is really overblown nowadays, I have 2 kids which I have driven in a Mazda 3 for 5 years. For the past 4 months I've been driving a Model 3. Never had any issues with either car, which, according to everyone, is impossible. The same way it's impossible for you to want an SUV even without having children...
In what way? After going 100% electric for 2 years ago, I'm never going back to noisy, stinking fossil cars. Super cheap, super simple and a super comfortable driving experience.

100% agree that design language translated onto this car would look beautiful
at least it is real buttons on the wheel and a lower row of buttons below the screen. the capacitative buttons on the VW line of wheels are abysmal.

Climate is AUTOMATIC which means you barely EVER need to adjust that. There are some buttons in steering wheel for media.

Looks the same as the Enyaq inside. Same battery size too, so should do much more mileage.
no, the Enyaq is a crossover-suv, the Elroq is a compact SUV. The Enyaq should be slightly more efficient due to slightly better aerodynamics
