This is Australia's Bee Gees song that went to number one as they sailed back to England in 66 to make it big. Barry heard there was going to be a Concert to help the Victims of Australia's worst ever peace time disaster and he flew "home" to help out! Just listen to the crowd join in and sing the song and that song if 43 years old. We gave him the Honor of Headlining the Concert as he is our Biggest International artist ever!
The Gibbs were born in England & moved to Brisbane Australia when the boys were young. They got on Brisbane tv at like age 9 & their first hit was #1 when they were going back to England to get more known. Barry still says they're British & Aussies
The Bee Gees were born in Isle of Man but their family moved to Australia when Barry, Robin and Maurice had their first start of entertainment. So both of your were right.
I've heard him say that they both were his home, but actually he's lived in the U S for years now and he is a citizen. I think he will settle in Tennessee when they finished with the house that burned down. ( Johnny Cash's home.) I hope he does and starts writng some good country songs. He has a good sound for country singing.
Most of the gibb family still live in Australia and after the death of Maurice both Barry and Robin. Both made mention of their intention to move back to australia to be with their close family. Barry Gibb has always thought of himself as being Australian. He has often spoke about his best childhood memories being in Australia. This concert was a benefit for the Black saturday bush fires. Why would he rush over to be part of this benefit, if he didn't care about where he grew up?
In ten years the first comment on here will be 21 years old and mine will be 10,makes you think doesnt it that time is slipping endlessly on and while now in 2020 we have the corona virus dominating everything we do,what we will it be in ten years and who'll read this then
