On the official arma 3 discord the Arma 3 devs audiocustoms, Midnight and Dedmen mention that Drewsky edits its videos to show a worst performance that he actually gets because ranting and complaining about games "sells" youtuber's videos a lot more than showing the "Reality". I hope that Operator Drewski gets into the Arma 3 Contact Feedback Discord channel and screenshots this toxic behavior by devs blatantly lying about his content.

This exactly how I do this stuff in every first person shooter i play. Dump a whole 100 round box into 2 dudes.
i first start killlin them with UGL, after a while of looting i do that with RPGs and MAWWS :D
Bohemia Interactive should really do more DLC's like this. They've obviously invested a lot more time into the writing, voice acting and creativy.

Honestly I just hope arma 4 is smoother, because low fps,very awkwardly timed dialogue,glitches,buggy movement/gameplay really takes away from the story/multiplayer

I liked how Bohemia didn't turn it into generic "evil russians" thing. Cause the first thing I thought when I saw spetsnaz mentioned, was - "oh ok, guess I'll be killing waves of highly trained soldiers all alone, like in apex".
And lots of hidden details here and there are also great. The background is like in Hemingway's stories, it's speaking for itself.
So it felt like an rpg for me.
Aaand knowing russian, it was much easier to figure out what to do in the end, lol

Correct me if I'm wrong but here's the story:
NATO and Livonians are having a training exercise when something goes awry and some weird roots pop out of the ground. Then an alien spacecraft shows up to try and remove/extract the roots, which are actually megabombs. The Livonians don't know this though, and attack the spacecraft. It's now up to the Russians and a rag-tag group of Americans to prevent the Livonians from unintentionally ending the world.
This story is WILD.
shooting the root core isnt really world ending, it just makes a 30 megaton explosion

...Broheim, you weren't paying attention. The "root core" in Olom that exploded was dead and cut-off from the rest of the roots due to seismic activity/tectonic plates. Imagine you have a gigantic pile of explosives and you just set a little aside out of the way it blows up. What do you think would happen if it touched off the rest of them? If a dead, SEPARATED, core is almost as powerful as a Tsar Bomba nuke... do you REALLY want to touch off the entire thing?

I keep admiring the quality of the DLC. Those russians spoke without any english accent. It seems like they've hired actual russian voice actors for that scene. The words were picked very carefully and it's generally pleasant to listen. Great job. Thanks for sharing this dlc with us man

gotta admit, the quality in the voice acting, dialogue and sound design is extremely well done. I wish whoever made this DLC would make a full length game with a similar premise because it's pretty god damn well done.
This seemed more like a passion project then a regular DLC, they had originally intended for aliens to be in the BASE game for Arma 3 but decided against it. This is something they have wanted to do for a while and it shows.
As somebody who speak Polish I am pleased by this DLC.

I'm belarusian and can understand both polish and russian well, russian VOs were really good, they felt alive and said little bit more than in subtitles. maybe BI got a russian-speaker on their writing team.

Wow, I bet Bohemia could also launch their next DLC also available as Powerpoint slides.
Framerate is then no problem on any machine (you can get a good frame rate by holding PgDn), it's much easier to just skip the long grinding missions and Drewski could edit the videos easier.
I had fairly good FPS when playing it, its probably because he is recording it. Recording games can tank FPS. I did have some frame losses at some points, but my FPS was mostly stable.

it still not clear the political situation of Russian Federation in ARMA 3 timeline, it seems like 'the west' is in tension with CSAT, and it seems like Russian itself is kind of neutral and not part of CSAT member, so the opfor is still refer to CSAT faction rather than Russian
@@IlhamDefraN Nah throughout this campaign theres articles around the maps and conversations from NATO soldiers at the beginning about Russia joining CSAT, and that is essentially why the "electron" exercise is taking place. So in the campaign Russia has full CSAT membership from the beginning.
@@PriorityLethal it doesn't Russia is only cooperating with em about selling technological pieces like helicopters tanks and stuff but not joining because it's afraid of loosing sovereignty to China. So it acts as neutral meanwhile being proxy ally of CSAT because it's too powerful to become china's dog and to weak to make China it's own dog.
they really do know how to make an atmosphere, despite the usual arma issues
little tip: you dont need to be under the alien to communicate, just enough where them pulses are... and its always a second frequency (not that main one) with a pattern. also that misson which you "hated"... play less agressive and more tactical (command livonians into the north/whatever as HQ, deceive, hack the UGV's... its not classic ArmA gameplay!

I gotta say man, the mission you thought was so bad, it's on you man, i personally had no problem with it, as well as the making contact with the alien drones, you didn't pay attention at the start, you need to wait for it to stop pulsing until you can advance.
So most of your gripes are just out of laziness i guess, as for the frames, well that's arma indeed.
Love your vids man but this rustled my jimmies if you catch my drift.
rc501st this. He kept walking straight up to the aliens and getting stunned instead of keeping his distance even though the game tells you you have to keep your distance. I found this mission a fairly enjoyable stealth mission imo.

The part where you're listening to a single broadcast talking about the Aliens and working to get back in contact with them, and then there's a massive burst of noise across all frequencies at the end. That gave me chills. That's some great storytelling.
So in Anomalous Phenomena there are actually a lot of hidden easter eggs. I did notice the hitboxes in a lot of the terrain objects (trees, rocks, shrubs) were way too large and I would get stuck a lot. I won't spoil any for you, but just go around the map and focus on the points of interest. Also follow that map note if you haven't already. I think it would be worth it to put together a video on all the small details in AP.
If they remade this into another game = 10/10. They should really make more cool games like this!

The ending is pretty anticlimactic, but the DLC is still pretty cool all in all.
That was the best use of the credits scene I've ever seen. First time I ever stayed through the rolling credits

Fking loved it mate, this is the first time I was so eager to watch an Arma 3 video, the scripting and environmental sounds was excellent. It is a shame about the FPS and typical Arma bugs, but the story was so good it made up for it.
So that just leaves me to say a massive Thank You for uploading these awesome videos, I really enjoyed every minute of it.👍👍

The first two acts were my favourite too. Drewski there's a lot more to find in the woods! Its worth going back and looking for more intel at each point of interest.
The best of it is that we enjoyed a great part of this campaign and that's enough :), great serie man!
I loved the contact campaign, the hardest part for me was the last mission where we defended the core preventing ARMAgeddon.... lol. I kept haveing to do it over again because they kept blowing up the C4, so I kept rushing to the C4, killing everyone near it and disarming it. I was able to complete the campaign with it actually firing any shots and killing anyone till the last mission. I just kept using the spectrum device to find out where all the enemy patrols where and diverted them. Well, I did fire a few, shot this one guerrilla fighters and then shot a bunch of looters, but I never engaged the LDF. The guerilla fighter i killed seemed to be bugged, I found him in this building that had a bunch of weapons, ammo, rockets, and corpses of dead looters. He was standing near some stairs in the building with a sawed off shotgun, and kept trying to aim at me but put his gun down, then aimed, then gun down, and it was looped like that till I shot him. I got a nice marksmen rifle from that building too.
You are just doing the mission wrong, you aren't supposed to go up to the roots, you are supposed to use the tool to divert squads and then use the drones.

I hate the little tiny detail they overlooked but it completely killed the immersion for me: There was no sound delay when the alien mothership warped out, the zap could be heard on the player at the same time. The ship had to be at least several hundred meters in the air and probably a klick away from the player position... me sad.
Ehhhhh, you have to consider that maybe it's possible for sound to travel faster than that of an explosion. Sound can travel at 300 meters a second.

@@hellcatdave1 i don't know what your talking about. Speed of sound is attected by the matter where it's traveling. In the air it travels abot 300m per second, but light travels several times aroubd the earth in a single second. At the distance between the player and the mothership at the time of the jump, the light would hit the player at an instant, but the sound of the jump itself should reach the player several seconds later

@@professionalschizo Sure that may be true, but I still liked how they portrayed the aliens as these mysterious entities. It reminds me of the JAM from the Yukikaze series. Although I was kind of hoping their would be a little more to the ending with the aliens than just them yeeting from Earth.
I loved that the aliens reamined suoer mysterious and that we never got to see one in flesh (or succesfully communicate meaningfully). Or maybe the boomers was an actual alien? The scientists tossed with the idea that they might be 100 synthetic.
Anyway, them baling out without a larger show was a little dissapointing.

Seriously, breaking off the cliche was one of the best parts of this whole DLC. I just wish that instead of playing as the common US soldier you played as the LDF, it wouldve made for a very interesting perspective of the events that happen in the story
No shit, I have the same dream sequence like the one rud had in 2017 for several days, then wake up sweat on my whole back, it's like traveling back to the moment of the beginning of time. this sequence in the game gives me chill.
