Nice one! I just passed the 1800 threshold, I did it with using my headphone cable to set the crosshair position.
Another advice that would be handy for this one (it kinda worked for me):
Depending on the direction of the ball (fastball, sinker and curve) you have to target the numbers the following way:
Fastball - middle
Curve - left
sinker - right
That way you can see the ball all the way until hitting it; after that it's just some luck.
