on the other hand, these we’re released for no reason, or possibly for just making people feel nostalgic for a feature that just recently got removed.
They are likely going to find a way to incorporate user ads into these accessories. I don't see why they wouldn't.

Okay, this idea may sound too crazy even for a corporation as greedy as roblox, but imagine if those items could be customized in a way that you could add your ads on them, so basically gives you an option to turn your own avatar into a walking ad if you wish.

Roblox has been changing. They are evidently different from how they were in 2018-2022. This is NOT them trying to insult or rub it in the faces of players in the community.
First, mobile players cannot see ads. Whether you believe the stats listed by google, mobile players make up around half of active users on the platform. Anything around that is a substantial amount of the platform not seeing ads at all. This minimizes the effectiveness of user ads for devs and as the platform grows more mobile users, it becomes less and less effective to list ads.
Second, assuming Roblox, as a multi-million dollar company, would intentionally instigate its user base is ridiculous and a laughable take. The corporate company from 2 years ago would’ve just made a dev forum post and left it at that. No, they CHOSE to respectfully part ways with a feature that’s been with the website since it’s early beginnings. They gave 2 free accessories, 1 of which being a retexture of a classic hat series, to honor the send off of user ads.
I think some of you don’t want to believe Roblox is being considerate to its community. It’s easier to see black and white instead of shades of grey. We got 2 big events from Roblox, a company that said they were done with their own events years back. They gave us an egg despite promising there would be no more egg hunts. They improved the following event by shrinking the amount of games.
They are listening, they are trying. Maybe there is a person within the company who saw all the complaints over the years and is genuinely trying to make right to the Roblox community. So how about a little consideration of the attempts to do right instead of desperately reaching for a reason to be offended.

Im starting to think that Roblox News TH-camrs is just whining about everything Roblox does, since they cause most of the drama.
These channels make it out to be a way bigger thing than it should be, its just some hats that ROBLOX released to commemorate user ads, they arent "rubbing it in our faces".
Yeah you have a point here. We tend to look into the negatives and move the positives out of the picture. That's just human psychology but we should still consider the positives that Roblox has.

I sometimes wonder why some Roblox users perceive a homage to a feature like Tixapalooza items as-if it’s deliberately insulting them, and then I realize that Roblox’s largest (and formerly the only) target demographic hasn’t even graduated middle school yet
It honestly bothers me sometimes how worked up some people get over roblox adding/changing/removing features, like yeah some are justifiable, but most are honestly somewhat stupid. I’m gonna be honest I never cared for ads since I always just disabled them, and yeah I guess I’m disappointed over the removal, but I’m not like throwing a fit over it like most of roblox twitter is. Also, especially with the idea that they have some kind of motive over whether or not Roblox is going to use it as like a slap in the face, like why can’t people just be like “oh cool, a homage item!” Instead of “Ohhhh, roblox is sooo greedy taking away all these features and blah blah blah metaverse era is back! Roblox is so over!!! blah blah blah”. I probably sound like I’m yapping but this type of stuff frustrates me.
Also, I should add on that user ads had a good run, and it’s not like every single roblox feature is going to stick around.
the way roblox can actually help, is by creating a section in where there are unpopular games in the site and launcher, in the discovery section to make it more easier for small devs to be discovered by players.

One thing I'd like to point out with the user ad accessories is that the meshes look retro, like I'm sayin' they got a gradient to them from the shadows reflecting and how it doesn't look detailed. I think It's just neat really since Roblox hasn't released an accessory like that in awhile lol

This is one of the best updates ever, because most of the ads are just people begging for followers thinking that they will get verified
2:20 Indeed it does. Although it doesn't mention it at all, Barcodes and QR codes technically redirect people off-platform, which goes against the Community Standard. I found that out awhile ago after Roblox gave me a warning for uploading a Bloxy Cola texture that had a barcode on it.
It makes me wonder if the texture will get moderated or if the Roblox account has a moderation exemption.
But like, one side note: Mobile roblox doesn't have any ads, and most of the community (guessing like 80%) plays on mobile, so it's not like the removal of ads is actually that bad, they were likely serving almost no purpose after all, i guess.

I generally think the removal of ads has something to do with the fact that they added daily highlights/remade the recomemded section, and now they think they can 'choose' games for us themsleves.

Roblox removing user-created ads is a good thing because it means they're less annoying, but it's also a bad thing because it means it's harder to discover games(and other stuff) that are great and worth checking out.

you know, now that I think about it,UGC-based ads could be interesting, essentially promotional items that you could make with a link for the game in the description, allowing you to advertise to players on the avatar shop. however, knowing roblox, it'll probably never do that because it would actually be good lol

The ads never really bothered me during 2021 since I have an adblocker on, but during 2015 when I first joined roblox and during that time, they were annoying as hell and would take up alot of the screen on the computer, so in a way, I'm kinda glad they got removed.
although there were some funny ads I saw while watching Flamingo's older videos, so I might miss them a tiny bit more..

it would be cool if those accessories would display actual user ads when ingame, but that's probably impossible to. But it would be cool if it was possible since then user made ads could live on through those accessories, since these as they are look nothing more like a meme template that's missing the transparent background.

I THINK they might of heard the backlash of removing the user ads, so they made the accessories to calm down the crowd, or it's a memorial/event in the themeing of the old user ads, or they like ads that much, idk. It could be anything honestly.

I had my adblocker disabled on roblox because i liked user made ads. turned it back on as soon as they were gone. Not giving ad revenue to brands if it means no user ads

i have a theory, this theory is that roblox is going to attach what they assume smaller games to these advert items, and while on someones pfp or ingame, you can click on these adverts sending you to the game page on that advert.
Maybe it’s to help people promote their stuff and in the future you can slap an advertisement on it and wear it around 🤷♀️
This will probably tie in to an update released at a later date.

The first time I saw those items I thought that you could put your ads on the item so when ur in game people would see your add on that item on your avatar.
i have a theory; they temporarily removed the current ad system and are putting a new one in place
the on-site ads are gone as far as I can tell, the new ad system is in-game
they could make it so that you could put in a id and advertise a game or smth like that idk and you have to advertise their game to do stuff in their game or something like that. idk

RIP Ads. The items do look sick and i respect roblox memorializing the removal of ads, but still these items are not enought to forget this update. Other than that i think roblox might be removing their corporate self and listenong to the comminity slowly, by bringing events back removing their metaverse title and others, but also not since they keep moving backwards after a good update or change😭.

Im almost 100% sure the items with the roblox logo are for the RIA24 just looking at them and the design the badges have in the new discovered game is easy to know.
