The earliest implied Tyranid that we know of is the apparent space squid that Leman Russ fought during his time on Fenris.

Larissa, the female narrator, left the Institute. The writer, Mark, doesn’t like to talk about it.

This is a long one, so buckle up:
Larissa was the narrator for Templin, but from what I hear she bad-mouthed Marc and got on the wrong side of a supposed Audible scam and drama. On one side, there was Templin, Star Wars Explained, and Eckhartsladder, and on the other was Larissa and the channel Spacedock, who was accused of not keeping Patreon promises to his backers regarding an audio drama he was producing with Larissa as a voice actress. Marc from Templin called him out and Spacedock and I guess Spacedock and Larissa started shit-talking, which made their shared friends support Templin.

Damn, always sad when pillars of the community fracture. They are people though, but unlike with bigger orgs their writers voice, and talent and relationship to the work is often hard to replace. Happened in so many of my youtube communities, it's just frustrating because compared with many others who were canceled for valid reasons their infighting and community squabble seems comparatively slight. I hope she's happy wherever she ended up. I assume maintaining a schedule for that kind of stuff can be overwhelming.

I dunno, the Sisters of Battle seem to mainly exist for reasons that aren't family friendly.
Tyranids being creations of the Old Ones seems a bit far fetched. Aside from a phrase referring to them as the "penance of the old gods", their Shadow in the Warp being a convenient anti-Warp/Chaos tool, there's nothing else to solidly point to that. They could just be their own thing as much as they could be Old One creations/Old Ones themselves.
But if they are, there's one more thing to blame on them along with...well, nearly everything else.
The device that actually ended up calling the Tyranids to the Milky Way galaxy was the Pharos beacon, being used at the time as a second Astronomican when Guilliman was working on Imperium Secundus. Night Lords tried to take it over, but a loyalist Iron Warrior overloaded the device to kill most of them.

Actually, pragmatically... the Tyranids do sound like the kind of alternative the Old Ones would turn to. The Old Ones don't really kill, and think about it... their equivalent of the Space Marines were the Krorks, who due to shenanigans devolved due to their psychic hive mind weakening. The Orks too share a psychic hive mind, in a sense.
Maybe the Tyranids are the bugs to which the Krorks are plants. I can see the Old Ones, being so ancient and powerful, suffering from Emperor syndrome and blowing their creations bigger than life. In fact, my big theory is that the Emperor learned from the last Old One whilst in the Warp after going to Molech.
And that is just the thing, be it the Pharos or anything else, when does anything that Guilliman messes with end well? When doesn't the Lion just stand there, glowering judgingly at the pen pusher Primarch's little "oopsies"? As all Primarchs have a foil, as with Perutabo and Dorn, the Lion and Leman, Guilliman and Lorgar are made for each other.

Is it possible that the tyranids were responsible for the ragdan xenocide?
Just a thought: they were encountered and then completely erased from records during the crusades because of the damage they did and the fact that those tyranids that were found that seemed nased on astartes. They couldve been the first true fleet, but after being eradicated, they waited, for thousands of years, leaving this universe for last because it was sble to fight them off. Just a theory from a warhammer noob.
