This is the best video showing HP's overly designed roller replacement, the older printers my five year old could change them out in seconds. So many steps of this end up binding with unseen obstacles its a nightmare to change out these rollers. I now pay for a service person to come out to change consumables, but the demonstration is flawless.
This is probably the best video out there for explaining installation and the pitfalls. One other problem that can happen is if the upper roller isn't put in correctly, then the paper tray lift will start clacking. There's a little white plastic piece that's supposed to hang freely. If it gets bound up, you'll have this problem, and it will be apparent very quickly.
Watched 3 and this is the best. HP video don't talk. Other guy's big gloves get in the way of the video. He really explains it all ! These are really Samsung printers. HP brought them out. These get the famous m608x tray 2 overfilled error. What I am dealing with now. I was told that the rollers can cause this. Also our pickup motor on tray 2 isn't working yet on tray three missing the seperator roller ( since they broke it) it actually lifts the paper.
Lifting the pickup roller as demonstrated gives you a 50/50 chance of installing the roller with the paper height lever on top of the flag. This then means that the printer does not detect that the paper tray is lifted properly and just keeps lifting which causes the clack clack noise that another user mentioned. Also note that the separation rollers (the lower roller) for these models now have a black center on the roller instead of clear, which makes it look different. Do not use the separation roller demonstrated as it can cause jamming or pinching of paper.

Thanks for the video. I’ve got to fit some of these & I was wondering how to do it.

Video well done!

Hey guys, I'm getting a loud rubbing sound coming from that pickup. the other pick up no noise.
Problem is, the lower roller pictured is not the same as on my M608.
