The theme for the solos dance breaks are greek gods to set up Dionysus. They also danced to remixes of their songs.
V - Apollo (sun) song: No More Dream
Jin - Athena (war, trojan horse) song: Danger
Jimin - Artemis (hunter, moon) song: I Need U
Suga - Hephaesthus (fire) song: Fire
Jungkook - Poseidon (water) song: Save Me
J-hope - Zeus (thunder) song: Fake Love
RM - Dionysus (wine) song: Dionysus)
This was one of their most awesome award show performance to date. Think it was said that they spent over 3 million dollars for everything! They were also practicing for this while on a world tour so imagine how much work was put into it! The whole Dionysus stage featured the guys as different greek gods, with Namjoon being Dionysus with his thyrsus (the staff). Dionysus was the god of wine, fertility, debauchery and theatre. And the song touches on them getting "drunk" on their art. Some parts were pre-taped beforehand like the live horses, JK's dance in the water and Namjoon's Persona stage. There's actually a Bangtan Bomb showing all of this...and all the awards they received...they won all 4 major Daesangs that night! Their 2019 MAMA performance was also excellent...who am I kidding ALL their MMA and MAMA performances are top tier and a really fun watch!! 💜💜💜

Since you have a lot of questions about "where did they go" and "how did the that get in there?" i'll go ahead and burst your bubble 😂 awards show performances have parts that are live and parts that are pre-taped! Some of the solo dance routines, the intermission with all the extras (horses included) and IIRC Mikrokosmos (the one in the spinning stage) are all pre-taped. This gave the guys a breather and time for costume change between stages. Part of the last song (where Yoongi raps) uses both camera tricks and pre-taped shots. When you're an audience there though, they perform those parts live, but what you see as an audience member isn't the same as what is broadcast!

Jimin and RM were live due to where they were on the stage; the others did the same performance for the live audience but in the black suits you see at the end (no water for JK’s dance obviously). RM also performed Persona live for the audience at the beginning, but you see the taped performance with the special effects on the broadcast. An epic performance all around! You can see j-hope’s dancing much better in the practice video - it was too dark and a bit too far away to really appreciate what he was doing.
Only BTS would make an award show into a BTS concert😉you'll get to the lyrics, but remember BTS songs have lots of ooohs and aaahs

Hey! Something helpful to know about Kpop award shows: Just like BTS concerts, Featured award show stages are a mix of pre-recorded stage performances (shot without an audience but "live" on the venue stage the day before) and live stage numbers. On TV, the entire set appears to be live, but the audience is watching parts on a giant screen that covers the stage. Here is how this one went.
First song is pre-recorded, as well as the very first shot of the second song's stage set. Then the screen rises (not shown on TV) like a curtain to reveal the members in the same setting on the live stage.
Second and third songs performed live on stage
Fourth song pre-recorded at the venue and shown on the big screen to the audience
The dance features are a mix of live and pre-recorded
Most of the finale song's opening "Overture" is pre-recorded with some minor live bits here and there. The final scene of the pre-recording shows the members together again on the stage's final set. Like earlier, the audience (not us) sees the screen rise to reveal the members live on stage in the same positions as they begin the final number.
A good way to know what's live is that you can see the audience. No audience shots = pre-recorded. When it all comes together it's a mind blowing and spectacular performance! Basically makes any show in the US look like a backyard talent show.

This is fr one of the best award performances I've ever seen, the props, the energy, their live vocals, their stage presence.. It's SO good. Bangtan never disappoints when it comes to live performances. They can perform like this or they can be literally sitting just singing and still manage to captivate you and do better than a lot of artists. BTS is really special. 💜🤌🏻
Their concerts are up and down like that and they have a lot of fun with ARMY as well and do solo songs and sub unit songs their concerts are a real mix they are insane.

After RM's persona, they went to Boy in Luv (yes an older song) to Boy with Luv! They represent 7 gods and lights are added as each member appear. Oh since you said you will be reacting in detail, all the music and songs used in the background are BTS songs

Ok i watched your reaction. Lol a horse is not a element comment was funny jess. But realk talk, i always cry when i hear Mikrokosmos as being ARMY i know how hard they struggled, how hard i've struggled to get where I am at, and BTS has proven dont give up and persistance. Boy in luv has a Warren G Music video version that reactors and ARMY has forgotten but its when they first came out. MMA 2019 was BTS saying we are the best step your game up and then covid hit. Jimin contemporary dance is so touching. I didnt think contemporary was considered "dance" until i saw this performance and i realized i was being closed minded. The entire MMA performance was Michael Jackson level of greatness and excellence. Dare i say better than MJ but BTS would say MJ is the king. I can honestly say BTS ARE PERFORMERS & PERFECTIONIST. they raise the bar every single time. I am ginuinely happy and honored to have witness BTS, i would never have done so if it wasnt for the American Music Awards 2018. Jess keep the reactions coming ❤😘

There is a performance with subtitles but not by Bangtan tv. You can look it up. I agree it is one of the best performances by any artist. But their concerts are awesome too. 💜
Just to answer your question about Jungkook not falling… quantity matters. If there was just a thin layer of moisture it would be quite slippery, probably not slippery enough for him to fall since he was wearing shoes but there would have been a chance. With that amount of water though? It would be almost no different to dancing on dry land.

that last performance of dionysus, shit was a lot for my eyes with all the lights but they did kill it. bts always go out during awards shows and concerts. Mikrokosmos was I believe prerecorded, so they had a break. Wish you could of watched MMA 2020. That one was also amazing but only that yoongi wasn’t there bc he had shoulder surgery. 💜

There are behind the scene's of them all dancing and moving the chairs and wheeled tables around and their individual dances.
The individual dances, each member represents a Greek god. Jimin is Artemis, the moon. Yoongi is Hephaestus god of fire and smelting metal. Jin was ? associated with the Trojan war. Jungkook was the god of the sea, Poseidon. Jhope Zeus, and RM as Dionysus god of wine and partying.
I just love RM's understatement "are you ready to be hyped up?" 😀😀😀😀

Yeah this part after horn is about greek mithology from characters the members play (gods) to the consetaltion that lights make when they show with members, to last song that is literally about god of arts, wine, party, music, theatr and fertility Dionysus... and this god is character that RM represents but also in his part he walka and he took Dionysus staff and started "party" - song (called thyrsus, thery actually talk about it in lyrics).
Dionysus song on this show is remixed with song "N.O." - this part with dance break and technolike music.
The song is big metafor they sing about parting and drinking but in reality it is all about music. Fun song.

I mean it is award show, it is time to show off, (especially if you are "Artist of the year"), but actually they started this trend for big stages for award show, so they have to keep up with it , bc after they started going bigger and bigger, rest groups had to keep up, so they had to also go bigger every year, and this one was like wow, normalny max time is around 15 minutes for big names 7-10 average, they got this much time bc a lot of artist didn't attend this award show but also they put a lot of money for it and what TV producer would say no... (if I remember coreclly YG or SM bands boycotted it)...
But as maybe fun fact bc like you said it almost like BTS concert some award shows now don't alow lightsticks for shows so it wouldn't be so obvious that it is most one fandom that goes.
The blow up tigers are actually from concert tour, bc they were opening concerts with Dionysus and tigers were part of scene.
They practiced for half a year for this award show and around 2 milions go into it.
Hmm all the choreo for Dionysus they knew before bc it was original choreo for this song, all tables movesband dancers, etc, so they only neeeded to learn dance break, and the solo stages. The same with backup dancers. And yes of course everyone learn first basic choreo, but when they learn steps they start to practice with backup so all is perfect in the end.

Hi, if you're going to watch Mikrokosmos again, the live SY in SEOUL is the best one. It doesn't have subs for the song itself, but it's the best live version imo. You can watch it after knowing the lyrics, it hits hard.

There concerts are not like awards shows, mainly because their concerts are usually tours in the US or different countries so it would be very difficult to transport all the requirements they need but the award shows in Korea are more lavish because they don’t need to transport everything around. Their concerts do have extra extra large scenes for visual effects and videos and their are some practical props but not to this scale.

There are places/grouos if people that actually believe that there is more then 4 elements, next to water, earth, air and fire, some say there is also soul but some say there is also metal (in China if I remember they have 5 element - metal, or somewhere else in Asia)

I suggest you better watch the 2019 BTS Christmas performance were they made it into a mini BTS Concert.
Can we give a shout out to the other Dancers who also moved the equipment around and to the Camera person who keep the camera on different members so we didn't see parts of the stage being altered eg the table things that were on wheels and the chairs.

they are representing the 7 Greek gods of greek Mythology. Each member is one light that forms a crown from greek mythology the crown that Dynosis flung into the Heaven's when he married the love of his life it was her crown. It's the 7 stars that makes up the Constellation Corona Borealis in the Northern Hemisphere of our night sky. However it's not easy to see with the naked eye as 3 of the star's are very faint.

in korea having a kpop award show and having a 30 or 40 mins performance, its very normal and common, they need to perform their 3 or 5 songs . having a big venue in award show is very normal and common too. theirs like 10 or more kpop groups and having their many fandoms in the audience
