Definitely something I don't usually do here on the channel, but being a life-long transformers fan I felt it would be fun to check out, and make this one time exception. This is not a comparison video with LEGO products by any means!

The fact it can actually auto-transform like in the series, it just goes to show how awesome it is.
Props to Hasbro for being willing to collaborate with other companies like Robosen and Lego. I hope we get more stuff like this with 2 companies working together

@@Gzilla313 He-Man is a property of Mattel; not Hasbro. Plus, Mattel is the owner of Mega Bloks and they already do produce He-Man themed construction sets.

Okay I was NOT expecting to watch Optimus Prime do mountain climbers this morning.
Great review Tiago. It's always great to see someone react to the Robosen Optimus Prime. It has been a couple of years ago that Robosen first announced their transforming robot. As a joke, they made it in the familiar red and blue colorscheme. That must have brought it to Hasbro's attention. BTW I like your own Lego version
This is awesome. Thank you for a great review. I had just finished the lego optimus prime a day ago with my 6 yr old son, who did almost 95% of the building.
Awesome review. I feel this slightly smaller, less expensive though equally functional variation will appeal to a lot more lifelong Transformers fans than the original release. It's definitely an impressive feat of engineering and playability, but personally I prefer a Transformer that displays well, and I have no fear of toppling over. That and Lego Optimus Prime is much more within my budget, and has the feature of building it before displaying it.

It's very reminiscent to me of the Alpha Mini Robot. Having worked with one in education, it's pretty obvious that Robosen is using the same firmware to program the Optimus Prime.
If you're excited about this, I definitely recommend checking out the Alpha Mini robot! By using block-based programming, it also allows you to fully program and move the robot yourself. It's a more expensive than this, as it's main use is for teaching kids how to program.
WOW at first I thought it was the lego set that was motorized and modified to be able to transform but I should've looked better !

This Optimus is second robot toy I am actually impressed by. First is original Furby from 90.

This is probably the greatest free review gift you probably ever get. It looks so cool. But for a 1000 pounds it’s expensive
I own the optimus prime robot and I'm really happy with it. It is a living object that can be taken out from time to time to show to children and adults. the larger version cost me 1000 euro in Belgium

It's so sad to see many Indonesian people still easily driven by a bias content creator. No common sense used, just follow along with whatever shitty remark made by their lovely content creator. This toys primary feature is its ability to transform, and not many toys are able to do something like that, making it an impressive one. so making the transformation part of the thumbail might be the first thing that comes to mind to any content creator. Most youtube thumbnails are basically following the same pattern: add whatever thing they're talking about to the thumbnail, then add the photo of the creator with the most stunning expression (mostly shocked face). See what i'm talking about? What made you say it's plagiarism? It just follows the same pattern as most thumbnails on TH-cam.
Gw orang Indonesia juga, makanya prihatin aja kalo ngeliat masih ada warganet yang gampang banget dihasut kayak gini. Cuma gara2 content creator favoritnya ngomong apa gitu, langsung aja percaya dan ditelen mentah2 tanpa pikir panjang.
I love it! It would be so great if this was possible with LEGO, but there will be some challenges.

They do! But it only fits the Flagship model, this is the Elite version a smaller and more compact one. I wonder if they'll do a trailer to go with this as well!

This toy is super impressive but it's not something I'll pick up myself. I prefer to transform my robots myself so the normal Transformers stuff from Hasbro and Takara Tomy (Generations/Studio Series and Masterpiece) is my jam.
It's undeniable that Robosen Optimus Prime is beyond cool though.

Wow! This was sooo dang cool. Much rather pay the price for this than the Lego one because there is soooo much more you can do with it.
It's a shame though that you can't display him in robot mode. If you turn him off all the motors loose power and he'll just ragdoll to the floor.

Hey, Tiago, what do you think are the chances Lego will ever do some detailed sailing ships like USS Constitution or HMS Victory? I know they don't do military stuff, but these ships are just works of art and at this scale there wouldn't be any weapons involved. I would love to have something like that on my shelf.

These are upwards of $1000. There’s no way these are for kids. The cheap plastic transforming ones are for them.
It'd be real cool if Alexa could do this.
But that'd basically be a new age Soundwave.
The only issue is that it's not Lego :). Actually I was thinking previously someone could make it in lego with motors. Wish I had the patience :). The current set is already great though, there should be more of these.
