Lisa Gardner…so great! Love that you spotlighted her book! She is definitely one of the OG’s of thrillers. Red Dragon is, to me, creepier than Silence of The Lambs. I would read this first if you can, though I didn’t and loved it equally as well. Wish I could like Jennifer McMahon, but I just don’t like the books I’ve read so far. I keep trying though! The Girl in the Ice I’ve had forever but never read. I will be looking forward to your review. Another great video!
I just wanted to say you're really cranking out the videos as of late. You've never been sporadic but as of late your content output has been huge. My wife and I are slowly playing catch up. Loving having so much to watch from you
Dark Things I Adore was so interesting, and dark and messed up lol. A lot of art talk, which I normally love but it was quite a good chunk of the book so sometimes it slowed it down. But I loved it. I hope you love it too.
Hi Audrey, I’m the viewer who told you about The Chalet. Guess what? There’s a 5th book that fits that theme (murder mystery set in the Alps, written by a female writer, published in 2020). It’s called Death Goes On Skis by Nancy Spain. Virago published it in 2020 but it was originally published in 1949. I’m reading it right now
Thanks for the rec! I'm going to read it....swear!!!! I've been mixing mood reading up a storm with trying to tackle some ARCs and new releases I'm excited about. We've been having oddly non-wintery weather which I'm not mad about....but I really haven't been in the mood for all the snowy reads. Blue skies & sunshine & 50 degrees are messing with me! haha!
So glad to see The 10th Justice and the Lisa Gardner book, I love both of those authors and discovered Brian Metzler during my reading lawyer books stage. And who doesn’t love DD Warren!!!!
I'm reading The Cabinet of Dr. Leng by Preston and Child. I'm curious as to why you never feature any of their books. They are among my favorite authors!
Hi! I've never read anything from Preston & Child. It's not an intentional move to not include them but just haven't read their books so I'm not familiar with their work. Hope you enjoyed the book!
I highly recommend reading Find Her by Lisa Gardner first then read the rest in order. You learn so much about Flora and she is such and amazing character. I love that she was continued in other books
Always a pleasure watching your videos. I read “Mary Jane” back in 2021 and totally LOVED it. The Secrets she Keep. engaging read by Robotham. Some books you mentioned here and am dying to read after long time collecting dust on my shelves; Night Film A Man Called Ove The Silence Of the Lambs What Lies Between Us Some books I’m kicking myself that I didn’t buy yet: Cackle Girl on Ice Glad that I’m taking inventory of my books with the help of your videos. Keep it coming. 👍
Hi Audrey, glad to see Michael Robotham on the list and that you have enjoyed his writing. Can I recommend you add Suspect to your list if you can find it and havent already read it. It's the first book in the detective series by Michael. I believe there's 8 books so it's a decent rabbit hole.
That is a rabbit hole!!! Okay I found Suspect at my library so added it to my wish list! I read The Secrets She Keeps and enjoyed it so yes...need to read more of him!
I may be way behind (usually am lol), have you talked about Riley Sagers new book that's coming out this summer (I believe)? Oooh Red Dragon is really good!
I loved The 10th Justice as did my daughter! I have many other of his thrillers on my TBR... need to move one of his up soon, very soon.😉 If you've never read Mindf*ck, by S.T Abby, I recommend, a chunky one, but such a quick read! Serial killer hooks up with FBI, literally.
I think I need to be back in the right mood. I liked it but wanted something faster. This was definitely when I was DNFing books that were too slow burn in the moment!
Read Malice. And then get Newcomer (#2 in the Kaga series) and then A Death in Tokyo (#3) just came out December 2022. Such great mysteries, highly recommend reading all 3 right now!
Hi Audrey! Love hearing about all your books. Here is the update: You sold me on beginning Sloppy Firsts, have it on Audible. Just received The Last Parrish for Christmas, Buddy Read? I promise I will read All The Missing Girls this year, as well. I am going through my shelves and book cart to put more of my books "in view". Hoping you are doing well!
I'm so happy you got Sloppy Firsts. You have to let me know what you think! And I need to get back in. I realize I'm so late to the party here but keep me posted about Mrs. Parrish and we can make a plan!
@@ChapterandConverse I certainly will! I would love to buddy read Mrs Parrish w you (and another fan on your page) Oh, I consider you a fellow Bostonian (w all the love you give us, and a new acquired friend!
I love your sweater! Both style and color. I’ll talk about that bc your books are overwhelming me. Lol 😂 there is just not enough time to read all the fantastic books out there.
My books overwhelm me too! It's a lot. So the sweater - lots of people asked about it which makes me think I need to wear it more 🤣. The sweater is from Able Clothing - it's the Harriet slouchy. It's on sale now and then would also check out these Instagrammers who always have sale codes which you can usually apply on top - What Kate Finds; Style Thief Fashion; Dressing Dawn; A Journey I Deserve. Not sponsored - just a big fan of Able and their mission to empower and support women 💕
Oh, “The Last Mrs. Parrish” was absolutely a delicious read. I’m not a re-read guy, yet this one is tempting to break the rule. Also, I feel I should re-read “The Kind Worth Killing” soon before the release of the new one “The Kind Worth Saving” I’m a huge Peter Swanson fan.
Another great video, Audrey. Regarding the Hannibal Lecter books, I would definitely recommend reading "Red Dragon" first. The background in that story made "Silence of the Lambs" even more enjoyable, IMO. And for me, "Red Dragon" may have been my favorite of the two. It's been quite a few years and I should probably revisit Harris' diabolical character. Thanks for mentioning John Marrs. His name has been coming up quite a bit over the last few years. Would "What Lies Between Us" be a good place to start? And lastly, thank you for mentioning "The Butcher and the Wren" (Urquhart) on one of your recent videos. I started it last night and it looks like it's going to be "deliciously creepy". Happy Sunday to you....
Pango, you said? Do you have a Pango shop?! Do share, please!! I’m eyeing Gatsby for a challenge I’m doing if it should appear there. I’m trying to support creators I listen to/watch. That cart was full of great potential. Gretchen sounded really intriguing to me!
Thank you so much! And great minds on having the same books! A few people asked about the sweater - who knew this would be a hit? Haha! It's from Able Clothing - the Harriet slouchy. It's actually on sale now. You should also check out these Instagrammers who always have sale codes which you can usually apply on top - What Kate Finds; Style Thief Fashion; Dressing Dawn; A Journey I Deserve. Hi! I got it from Michael's. I think a link here might block the comment but it's the Lexington rolling cart. I know people who have the IKEA one and love it and also carts from Target. I was looking for pretty colors so went with Michaels.
OK so I've been picking up Kay scarpetta books, but haven't read any lol do I have to start with the first one and read through or can I read in any order? I'm dying just to try one lol
My evil influence strikes again 🖤 Okay....so I come from this two ways - I've said in a video that if someone wanted to dip in that I would say you could skip the first few and start with Cruel and Unusual (Book 4). I feel like a lot of the relationship dynamics start to take off and the darkness of this book sets a good tone for her writing/for the series. I LOVED Postmortem (Book 1) but was a little less wowed by 2 & 3. You get some core understanding of the characters but I think PC also does a solid job of giving enough backstory to orient you in a new book. So....maybe try Book 4. Does that help 🙃
Rewatching videos…I’m currently reading friend request. I’m half way through it…and bored. I plan to finish it but it’s not one that is making me eager to pick it back up
Ummmmm that HBO show was so creepy. It's a true crime documentary of the actual crime and I realized how little I knew about it. There are interviews with the parents/families of the girls who committed the crime and we get some video in the courtrooms. It's so epically disturbing and heartbreaking. I'd recommend it but wow it was dark. I should have expected it - I was gripped to the story.
Thanks for this - I should probably just unhaul it and if I ever want to read it can just get it from the library. So many other books I'm more interested in reading!
Red Dragon ia a must read!
A 1,000 hour Audrey book video?! Who is down? 🙋🏼♀️🙋🏼♀️🙋🏼♀️
Absolutely !!!

I'm reading The Cabinet of Dr. Leng by Preston and Child. I'm curious as to why you never feature any of their books. They are among my favorite authors!
Linda, I love this series too! The only booktuber I remember talking about their books is "storm reads".

I have Chasing the Boogeyman in my "borrowed from the library" stack, which is what I use my cart for 📚 😁
I think I need to be back in the right mood. I liked it but wanted something faster. This was definitely when I was DNFing books that were too slow burn in the moment!
I have a lot more books on my tbr now! Waiting on what's on my last cart video for more recommendations!
I filmed it so just TBD when it goes up....it's another dumpster fire of books 🤣
Read Malice. And then get Newcomer (#2 in the Kaga series) and then A Death in Tokyo (#3) just came out December 2022. Such great mysteries, highly recommend reading all 3 right now!
Thanks for the order - I was intrigued by the story of Death in Tokyo! Love finding new writers!
I finished Death in Tokyo last week. It was fantastic! Loved it!
Ofc there is a book resting on top.. there are 16 on top of mine right now!
I'm such a mess 🤣 The book pile game is strong here!
I’ve also been thinking of rereading The Last Mrs. Parrish! Currently reading The House in the Pines.
I just received The Last Mrs Parrish - Buddy Read? LOL
Yes! Would love to!
You two will have to let me know what you think and if you love it let me know....I have another book I'd recommend!
