People living on the boats always an attracting scene to many tourists, these small boats are called 'san pan' in chinese, and these poor new territories villagers are no longer existed.
@gggu I think it is Ap Lei Chau as the shelter is located between Ap Lei Chau and Aberdeen. If the travelers was standing in Aberdeen, they must be looking towards Ap Lei Chau. ^^
I was there november of 74 with my grandmother, I'll never forget it! Thanks
@greatguy52 I started taking pictures of them in 1949!
Nice view and nice music
Thanks, wake my memories up.
No, 16mm sound on film cameras were hardly available at the time. I'm adding HK sounds to silent films, though.
I filmed this area in 1974 using a Chinon 8mm sound movie camera, the only sound 8mm handicam available. Love your videos , Michael.
The place is called Aberdeen, an old fishing port.
Thank you very sharing

That cemetery is still there. Now it is high air pollution area.
@0:15 the floating restaurant sat at Aberdeen til June 2023, it was towed away and sunk intentionally at South China Sea ,it's ashamed.
At 2:57 is the site for The Chinese Permenant Cementery.
the villages and fish ponds in SZ (shot from border) are all disappeared, now SZ is a 10million populated big city.
A shame too as it looked very picturesque. Now just another city.
@gggu Sorry, but I have no idea as I did not take this film myself.
Mr Rogge,
Have you recorded any sound at the location of filming?
Best Regards
