For all the people mocking in the comments I'll be telling again Our Tulu culture is related to pre Vedic culture like Indus valleey. Daiva are the shakthis who protect tulunadu. There are kutumba daivas and grama daivas . We were introduced to Vedic worship during the kadamba Dynasty rule over tulunadu. Before that we worshipped nature spirits and considered them as supereame. Nagabermer/ bermer was said to be the adi moola daiva or Shakthi who manifested into different forms of daivas . This bermer concept is similar to the prevedic parabramhan concept . We were nature worshippers and included nature in everything. Our daivas like Panjurli ( boar spirit) , Pili chandi ( tiger form) , mayisandaaye ( bull form) , nandigona . Then lekkesiri , and as civilisation started to form slowly new forms of these daivas were worshipped during warfare Jumadi etc. Then we do not have a concept of moksha . After death we include the spirit into our ancestral kutumba with our kutumba daivas. We belive our ancestors are living with us so ancestral worship is a major part. Our great heroic ancestors are worshipped as daivas like 7 Siri and kumara , Koti chennaya , Kalkuda Kallurti, babbu Swami , thannimaniga etc. Then we have muslim origin daivas like Bobbarya , Ali bhoota , etc . We have pardanas ( Tulu folklore) which tells the stories of this daivas. But pardanas have changed according to culture. Before daivas were different roopas of ultimate Bermer / Nagabermer. When Shivism became popular daivas were associated with lord Shiva as lord shivas amshas then in some places it's associated with lord Vishnu . So as new form of worship became popular pardanas were composed accordingly. Pardanas tell lot about evolution of Tulu culture. Daivas are independent spirits people often blindly belive them as ganas or dhootas without researching about Tulu history before 4th century and after that. Just wanted to say every god is ultimate nothing is superior and inferior. Different forms represent different aspects of quality of the divine. That's the beauty of hinduism. This below image is of Moori daivas . Old form of daivaradhane. This has similarity with ancient indus civilization. The clothing of Devi in one of the murli observe that. Daivaradhane is fully connected with nature and natural materials are used for rituals. The rituals are purely regional culture. I don't know to how many people this comment will reach but hope people reading this will atleast put aside what they have been made to learn for some days and start doing research on our Tulu culture and history and how it was later manipulated. Even we are equally responsible for this. If our people had stood strong with our beliefs and culture then this wouldn't have happened. Atleast now it's time to start reaseahing on our actual culture the actual version of pardanas which are still there in some rural areas and best way is to get help from the researchers I mentioned above . Secondly Mr. Thammanna shetty said that "the responsibility of building daivasthana, muga-moorthi etc is given to Vishwakarma community", But Vishwakarma caste people are Vedics right? So how can we say that Vedics have entered during 4th century. Who is "Maankaali daiva"?. Why do we have the "Chend" utsava in some Devasthana and Daivasthana of Tulunadu Ex: Polali, Amrutheshwara temple Vamanjoor, Khandevu?

But they are delinking tulu culture from Sanatan is bigger part of conspiracy to divide tulu people. @@CosmicMusic75 Shivism entered here some 1600 years back Vaishnavism during 7th century time . Bermer was worshipped as supereame then later it was converted into Bermalingeshwara many Ullalthi , ullaya kshetras were changed this can't be ignored and yeah our culture doesn't have connection with Vedic culture it was later linked to puranas by some people. We should know this because our ancestors were introduced to Vedic culture during kadamba Dynasty Mayura Verma's rule. But sanatana is not just Vedic. It includes all regional culture in Bharat. So Tulu culture will always be a Sanathana culture but that doesn't mean that we should link it to Vedic culture puranas we should always remember our ancestors believed regional Shaktis to be independent and all mighty and were introduced to Vedic culture much later. To unite doesn't mean we remove traces of our moola parampare and link it with aghama shastra. Both should be followed parallely only then we can save the essence of both these Sanathana culture.

For all the people mocking in the comments I'll be telling again Our Tulu culture is related to pre Vedic culture like Indus valleey. Daiva are the shakthis who protect tulunadu. There are kutumba daivas and grama daivas . We were introduced to Vedic worship during the kadamba Dynasty rule over tulunadu. Before that we worshipped nature spirits and considered them as supereame. Nagabermer/ bermer was said to be the adi moola daiva or Shakthi who manifested into different forms of daivas . This bermer concept is similar to the prevedic parabramhan concept . We were nature worshippers and included nature in everything. Our daivas like Panjurli ( boar spirit) , Pili chandi ( tiger form) , mayisandaaye ( bull form) , nandigona . Then lekkesiri , and as civilisation started to form slowly new forms of these daivas were worshipped during warfare Jumadi etc. Then we do not have a concept of moksha . After death we include the spirit into our ancestral kutumba with our kutumba daivas. We belive our ancestors are living with us so ancestral worship is a major part. Our great heroic ancestors are worshipped as daivas like 7 Siri and kumara , Koti chennaya , Kalkuda Kallurti, babbu Swami , thannimaniga etc. Then we have muslim origin daivas like Bobbarya , Ali bhoota , etc . We have pardanas ( Tulu folklore) which tells the stories of this daivas. But pardanas have changed according to culture. Before daivas were different roopas of ultimate Bermer / Nagabermer. When Shivism became popular daivas were associated with lord Shiva as lord shivas amshas then in some places it's associated with lord Vishnu . So as new form of worship became popular pardanas were composed accordingly. Pardanas tell lot about evolution of Tulu culture. Daivas are independent spirits people often blindly belive them as ganas or dhootas without researching about Tulu history before 4th century and after that. Just wanted to say every god is ultimate nothing is superior and inferior. Different forms represent different aspects of quality of the divine. That's the beauty of hinduism.
This below image is of Moori daivas . Old form of daivaradhane. This has similarity with ancient indus civilization. The clothing of Devi in one of the murli observe that. Daivaradhane is fully connected with nature and natural materials are used for rituals. The rituals are purely regional culture. It's more of a tantric ( use of meat , Kali/ madhya, etc) .You can confirm this by going through many Research works of people like Indira Hegde , Shrikant Shetty sirs vedio, then Ramakrisha acharya books Janardhan bhat book then best way is to go to shirva archaeology institute they have wonderful professors there they'll tell this with proofs . I don't know to how many people this comment will reach but hope people reading this will atleast put aside what they have been made to learn for some days and start doing research on our Tulu culture and history and how it was later manipulated. Even we are equally responsible for this. If our people had stood strong with our beliefs and culture then this wouldn't have happened. Atleast now it's time to start reaseahing on our actual culture the actual version of pardanas which are still there in some rural areas and best way is to get help from the researchers I mentioned above . Thammana sir is doing a great job by bringing us close to actual form of our culture. Shrikant sir's" Bermer" video will also shed some light on this thank you 🙏.

Our Tulu culture is related to pre Vedic culture like Indus valleey. Prevedic means before Vedic culture entered tulunadu. Daiva are the shakthis who protect tulunadu. There are kutumba daivas and grama daivas . We were introduced to Vedic worship during the kadamba Dynasty rule over tulunadu. Before that we worshipped nature spirits and considered them as supereame. Nagabermer/ bermer was said to be the adi moola daiva or Shakthi who manifested into different forms of daivas . This bermer concept is similar to the prevedic parabramhan concept . We were nature worshippers and included nature in everything. Our daivas like Panjurli ( boar spirit) , Pili chandi ( tiger form) , mayisandaaye ( bull form) , nandigona . Then lekkesiri , and as civilisation started to form slowly new forms of these daivas were worshipped during warfare Jumadi etc. Then we do not have a concept of moksha . After death we include the spirit into our ancestral kutumba with our kutumba daivas. We belive our ancestors are living with us so ancestral worship is a major part. Our great heroic ancestors are worshipped as daivas like 7 Siri and kumara , Koti chennaya , Kalkuda Kallurti, babbu Swami , thannimaniga etc. Then we have muslim origin daivas like Bobbarya , Ali bhoota , etc . We have pardanas ( Tulu folklore) which tells the stories of this daivas. But pardanas have changed according to culture. Before daivas were different roopas of ultimate Bermer / Nagabermer. When Shivism became popular daivas were associated with lord Shiva as lord shivas amshas then in some places it's associated with lord Vishnu . So as new form of worship became popular pardanas were composed accordingly. Pardanas tell lot about evolution of Tulu culture. Daivas are independent spirits people often blindly belive them as ganas or dhootas without researching about Tulu history before 4th century and after that. Just wanted to say every god is ultimate nothing is superior and inferior. Different forms represent different aspects of quality of the divine. That's the beauty of hinduism.
This below image is of Moori daivas . Old form of daivaradhane. This has similarity with ancient indus civilization. The clothing of Devi in one of the murli observe that. Daivaradhane is fully connected with nature and natural materials are used for rituals. The rituals are purely regional culture. It's more of a tantric ( use of meat , Kali/ madhya, etc) .
You can confirm this by going through many Research works of people like Indira Hegde , Shrikant Shetty sirs vedio, then Ramakrisha acharya books Janardhan bhat book then best way is to go to shirva archaeology institute they have wonderful professors there they'll tell this with proofs . @@CosmicMusic75 Shivism entered here some 1600 years back Vaishnavism during 7th century time . Bermer was worshipped as supereame then later it was converted into Bermalingeshwara many Ullalthi , ullaya kshetras were changed this can't be ignored and yeah our culture doesn't have connection with Vedic culture it was later linked to puranas by some people. We should know this because our ancestors were introduced to Vedic culture during kadamba Dynasty Mayura Verma's rule. But sanatana is not just Vedic. It includes all regional culture in Bharat. So Tulu culture will always be a Sanathana culture but that doesn't mean that we should link it to Vedic culture puranas we should always remember our ancestors believed regional Shaktis to be independent and all mighty and were introduced to Vedic culture much later. To unite doesn't mean we remove traces of our moola parampare and link it with aghama shastra. Both should be followed parallely only then we can save the essence of both these Sanathana culture.
