Nice work. I built a lot of these Toy-n-Joys models over the years(more than 25 years) I use camouflage fabric to make the army Jeep top. It looks more real.

I watched both of the videos in this series and found myself nodding my head and agreeing to all your thoughts! I have made several of the T&J models myself and thoroughly enjoy them. They can be frustrating at times and yet rewarding when finished. I too have made modifications and they are the most fun. I have built the same train engine/tender car that you built and I think I'm going to build some more cars for it. Thanks for your time in making these videos. Kenny, you know full well how much I enjoy watching your model builds. It has been great seeing this part of your collection and I and I am really looking forward to seeing Part 2. I have said this many times my friend but you are a true craftsman and I enjoy your show so much. If I might suggest I think you need to build a very tall and alarmed case to protect those models from your new granddaughter...lol
LOL. I fear for my many model's safety when she is old enough to crawl around and get into things. I get the feeling I will have to be keeping a bottle of wood glue close by to repair the damaged parts. LOL. Thanks for tuning in Paul. well done on your models .. an interesting video ... i have done 108 (the prime mover) found setting up the grill a bit of a pain and the mudguards (fenders?) caused me all sorts of trouble .. after the third failed go at them i ended up cutting them out of a bigger bit of wood as one piece, instead of three as per the plan ... i did 67 the wheeled loader and like you found the bucket a pain to do .. with it i ended up using toothpicks as dowels to line the pieces up in order to be able to glue them cleanly ... with 115 the boom crane, i also found the rigging the most difficult part ... the boom went reasonably easily for me ... i photocopied the side pieces and glued my pieces one by one into place on the pattern .. i used a pull saw to cut the angles i needed and a block plane to refine them at times .. the tracks went ok, if time consuming, although a later build of another tracked model i ended up with exactly the same trouble with it twisting
Building models like this are great skill builders David. One thing that they definitely test and hone is you patience. Good for you for attempting something 3 times and then, instead of throwing in the towel, devising a way to do it using your own methods. That's the way it's done. I was thinking of buying some plans for a truck, which would not be as well done as yours, but it's worth a shot. After all, it's not the end results that counts, it's the fun you have getting there. Hi I did something very close to that but I used a 1/4 inch mortising bit in my morticer (much quicker than cutting all those holes) grate build thought.You make grate wheels, I could never seem to get them right

Wow!!! Beautiful builds Kenny. So far I did only pattern #65 from toys and joys. The excavator. It took me about 70 hours. Lots of fun. I run into similar scenerio with my tracks being slightly twisted. I enlarged very slightly holes on one side of the track pieces and that allowed me to get them straight. Gonna try to build that jeep JKU one. It looks really cool. Great job buddy

I would love for the channel to grow large enough for it to be my full time job Doug but unfortunately the channel isn't growing as quickly as I would like it to. This is just my hobby. I have a full time job that I work well over 40 hours a week at from Monday to Friday. I have been working every day during the pandemic as I am considered and essential service.
