    Great video and very nice cooler! Thanks so much for showing viewers how you made this. Just give us a should if there's ever anything we can do to help!

    Nice build! Those thick panels will make a huge difference. We've been running our CoolBot for almost ten years now in a used commercial style cooler, great product. Happy hunting!!

    Coolbot recommends removing the air filter and cover from the a/c unit. This is supposed to provide better cooling and lower temperatures. I’m starting my project next spring and hope to video the project. Loved this video and happy hunting!

    Great video thanks! Been looking for some ideas on how to build something like this in my pole barn. Nice idea about putting it on skids so you can drag or fork it out if need be.

    good point. I wanted to be able to pull it out of the barn if I want though. also, I don't want to cut a hole in my barn. the nice thing about this project and the Cool bot is that it can be done many, many different ways! thanks for the input!

    how much does the ac unit heat up the barn outside the cooler? I just built a walking cooler in a basement and for a small nanobrewery and the inspector is telling my he believes the ac unit in the cooler wall will make the basement too hot and humid? I realize there will be heat but does it run so often that it heats the barn up or is it sporatic like a regular fridge/freezer?

    no issues at all. i have been amazed at how consistently it maintains the temp in the room. i was able to hang deer for up to 2 weeks at 34 degrees.

      I'm worrying in a cooler for a friend and building my own cool bot! Thanks for your time and for showing how you build it

      Do you know what your humidity was

    • @outdoorlifestyle4221
      @outdoorlifestyle4221  ปีที่แล้ว

      I am not sure. But it was mid summer inside a metal barn so pretty humid

    Why not have your door open out to same some space inside?

    Rigrob. I just used a door I already had. but you are absolutely correct. that would have been better

    Where did you get your flush insulated exterior door from?

    Cool but it probably work much better if the A/C was blowing all the hot air outside of the 90 degree shed? Maibe cut a square on the side facing the both walls or have a fan blowing out and save on electric.

    Great Video!! I have been looking all over to find someone who has done this. Since installing have you had any issues with the coolbot? Any updates or modifications since this video?

    how often does the AC run

  • @outdoorlifestyle4221
    @outdoorlifestyle4221  6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I don't think it would heat up the basement much but, It is hard to tell inside of a 30X40 barn . Just make sure you run the hose to a drain and I would plug in a dehumidifier and you should be good to go!

    I was planning on building a 4x4 cooler just to hang a deer or two. What happens if I use an air conditioning unit without a coolbot? Because the space is so small is it necessary to use a coolbot?

  • @outdoorlifestyle4221
    @outdoorlifestyle4221  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I think you would still need it in order to get the temp down low enough. I like to hang deer between 35 and 40 for several days. Normal a.c. won't get you there.

    There is this wonder invention to cool your meat down before you process and freeze it and will keep things good for a few day.
    Its called a ice chest lol

    I see an issue already.
    Reverse your door to open outside so you can utilize the inside space with shelving or what ever.

    Not sure you needed to drill that hole. Most of those are designed to hold that water, and throw onto condenser coil.

    • @outdoorlifestyle4221
      @outdoorlifestyle4221  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      maybe not. the pan was collecting an excessive amount of water though. it may not be necessary with a different make and model of AC. good point!
