If that's how you supposed to attach it to your mountain bike helmet it's not going to work you can't stick out that far for one and that tape sticky tape is not going to hold it still it'll eventually fall off

YES! You could use it with a Head Strap Mount.

The sticky mounts are bad. I put mine in my motorcycle helmet and the next day it detached completely… Never even got on the road with it
