Nice video! South Bend is my hometown born and raised. South Bend is a good medium city. South Bend is great because it's on the boarder of Michigan and less then 2 hrs from Chicago.
I was born in South Bend. Lived there until I was ten, when we moved to New Jersey. Back then, downtown was bustling. South Shore trains still came all the way downtown, Michigan St. went straight through, and Union Station was still a train depot.
thanks for sharing, my family and I are moving to South Bend next month, my youngest lives there and we can't wait to get away from Calif. with its ridiculous rents, freeways that are parking lots and the same weather over and over. I love the 4 seasons, and I'm sure we will enjoy South Bend.
If you have already made her decision to move to Southbend congratulations and I wish you best of luck Southbend does have some good areas but if you haven't made your decision about Southbend yet I will suggest you watch my other videos of other places I've done videos on to get an idea of some of the other type of communities that are here in Indiana good luck to you and your family and welcome to Indiana
@@andrewslife1979 my youngest daughter and her husband and son live there in a nice area, so my the rest of us are following her so we could all be together and I am for sure going to watch your videos. Leaving the Los Angeles area suits me fine, we at one point all lived in the St Louis area. I love the midwest, the four seasons etc. I actually grew up in Brooklyn, NY - so we've been here and there.Thank you for your reply and the good luck wishes! I'll let you know how we make out by mid November I believe. Hooray for snow! lol
Great video on South Bend, I’ve been to both fort wane and south bend, and in my opinion south bend has the bigger downtown, but they are both nice and fort wane is also doing a lot of new development, they both have new and redeveloped parks as well, also a person from fort wane once told me he too thought south bend had the bigger downtown, after i told him that I’ve been to both cities and thought south bends was bigger, but they are both nice.. Keep up the good work and always keep the videos coming...👍🙌🏼👏🏽👊👊👌🏾
Nice Video, I used to live in South Bend, left in 2014 to go to Albany, NY, then left that place again my job transferred to Detroit June 3rd, 2015, and been here ever since, bought a house and been somewhat happy, wish I was back in South Bend, Indiana, I miss Martin's on South Bend Hwy, my old house was 516 Napoleon, I first moved to Indiana 1998, by state line of Michigan, Beechwood st. then at the end of 1999 I moved to the Apartments on Trader Street, then I bought my house on Napoleon 2001, I made so many friends, my life was worth living, the many women I dated, most name Jennifer, I swear I dated like 12 different Jenn's. the early years me and friends would party hardy, it all went away around 2009.
I actually live here! Im glad to see somebody pointing out the nice sides of this place, everywhere i find these videos its always been negative stuff. My favorite place here in South Bend is University Park Mall. Its a great place, people are quite kind there (from what i've experienced) and it makes a great place to hangout with friends, family etc. You guys should TOTALLY visit sometime!
It looks like "costa azul" is the best place in Maneiro. You know every downtown in every place is good(markets, cinema, stores.....) . You said here, hauses are cheaper, but, now 2023, i don't think so.. bye and less sugar, please. It's a decent place. Listen the song sugar by marron 5.
2:59, you don't see that every day! BTW, I'm from SB. Thanks for sharing. Good to see how SB is doing. Maybe next time you could tell us which streets your on.
I agree, South Bend IS a cool place to live - except for the winters. That's why I'm posting this from my motorhome in Montgomery Alabama. It's Jan 2, 2022. 😊
Downtown is way nicer than when I was growing up there. SB used to be a dump like Gary, maybe not as bad but still really bad. The city has improved the downtown area greatly! Still some rough neighborhoods around the downtown. Pretty much most of it except the Eastside n most the north the side. Even parts of the Eastside is a little rough. Crime rate is actually really high in South Bend tho. They cleaned it up but its still the same stuff going on. The 90's was horrible for murders tho
Yes, for Indiana, Fort Wayne and South Bend are going to be considered bigger cities or larger areas. I live in a much larger state now. But they are both pretty nice TBH. Around 200,000 population near Lake Michigian. Most of Indiana is going to be rural. So, a lot of people live on farms or in neighborhoods surrounding farms. There's stuff to do, its not that bad.
Blessed morning Andrew!. I ❤ Indiana. Please, may You listen these songs: " tacones rojos" by: Sebastián Yatra/Jhon legend and "sugar" by: marrom 5; this one, to remember yourself (less sugar in your life). But, You are so sweet.💪⛑️👍.
I meant houses!. Thank You for not cleacking me here!. Feel free to delete all My comments below in every video where they are😁🎉🎉🎉. No problem about that. Thank You so much!. Bye 👾👍. You Will do it!. The videos are getting better!. The Best luck for You Big huge!. It's Over!.
Well there's good in bad in every city people shouldn't judge a book by its cover it means alot your honest opinion it seems you weigh the good with the bad great work.
Nice video. Maybe you could do a video about South Bends professional baseball stadium. Note: Ft Wayne proper population 276,286;South Bend proper 102,136. I live in the Ft. Wayne market and based on this video of the two downtown's I would have to say their of similar size
Remember when comparing populations Ft Wayne annexed lots of land to add to that population in the 90s where SB didn’t I bet if you looked at the metropolitan population in and around the city it would be very similar
Good evening andrew, I am looking at your video for South Bend and really like what you are doing. My name is Vita Hurley and my organization is women entrepreneurs matter. I would like to invite you to our event on June 11th at 307 South Chapin Street. South bend. Our theme is it takes a Village to build a family to build a community. Can you inbox me I can send you a flyer. I would love for you to come and see some more wonderful things happening in South Bend indiana. Keep up the Great works!
I’ve been here 5 years. If u have options, don’t move here. Although improving, jobs, and mindset are heavily skewed towards warehouse, light manufacturing etc. Very uncultured and rough. It’s like a breath of fresh air when I visit surrounding states. Parts of downtown, Mishawaka and all of granger is good. You go just out of SB and u will see maga hats, qtrumplicans and confederate flags. i.e worst of humanity.

Whole West side is pretty much ghetto. Gangs and high crime. East side is nice.

Thank you for this video, Andrew. Do you have any recommendation on the safe apartments in south bend near public transpo?
Where are the people walking on the sidewalks…any sidewalk cafes or open coffee shops to hang out in? Perhaps the north side where the university is?
The reason why you don't see a lot of foot traffic is because I typically do my videos over the weekend
Sunday morning its like this
Im from there 53 years

Looks dull. No vibe happening.
Also bear in mind that when I recorded this video it was on a weekend
Umm it doesn't look so good
And yet, it looks much better than it did when I lived there (1999-2005).
