Just see some of Anders Thomas Jensen's movies with him. It is like they went out of their way to make him as ugly as possible. It should cure you of your condition, while also experiencing some truly great Danish dark comedies.
One of my favourite actors, your representation of Hannibal was just brilliant. Not to mention your many other fantastic roles. Don't ever stop being yourself my friend.
Being a big James Bond fan his portrayal of Le Chiffre in Casino Royale is one of my favorite villains in the series. I liked his tv show Hannibal as well.
Really good actor. Solid performer. Most of his roles I like. Hannibal Lecter stands out to me in particular. I felt he played a more refined, a better iterated version of Hannibal Lecter than Antony Hopkins, and that's difficult to say because AH is such a good actor and his role as HL was spectacular. One difference that come to mind is their take on rudeness. The later was never rude, AH HL was from time to time rude which in hindsight is a little unbecoming.
What about the Hunt? Surely pivotal. I love his presence on screen - and for me, he was the best Bond villain ever. Not the usual meglamaniacal "destroy the world" type. Still the best Bond film (though I heven't seen Craig's last. Yet!
I thought his performance in "Valhalla Rising" was incredible. He doesn't have a single word of dialogue in the entire film, but the performance is chilling and very human.
Honestly him not having seen the Bond movies probably made him Performance even better in Casino Royal cause if he had, that could have made him try to impersonate past villains from the Bond movies, which would have been a little boring. Instead he really was able to give it his own spin on it.
I first watched him in The Hunt. Brilliant actor. My fave character of his is still Black Kaiser from Polar. Ahh give this guy another assassin role please.
I get why Pusher is included here as it was his first movie but his performance in Pusher 2 for me is even better. He carries the movie on his sad shoulders.
Mads's character from POLAR is what I liked the most until now. I want to see Mr. Mikkelsen in more of protagonistic & antiheroic characters, instead of antagonistic ones. The ingenious pain in his eyes make him a spectacularly tormented protagonist and an outstanding antihero who does evil things to evil people, but for the good of the good people.
I recommend The Salvation, and, if you're up for watching with subtitles, also Flickering Lights (go in without reading anything about the plot!), Adam's Apples, Flame and Citron, The Hunt, En kort en lang, Another Round, The Green Butchers, and A Royal Affair. 😊
