From my tests on the training room I think each of the CSS multi-hits deals roughly 1/5 of the damage from the original axe attack, including both raw and elemental. This means that if all 5 of them connect you are essentialy delivering double attacks. Still it works quite well with elemental damage, just not as crazy as one might think at first glance.
This hunter knows how to play CB, soooo many times where they DIDN'T use their guard point counter immediately despite having a good target for the counter hit. This is hard to master, since if you wait too long you lose the opportunity AND if you don't wait long enough you get knocked out of the attack by a follow-up hit that COULD have been blocked by simply waiting another .2 seconds. That kind of restraint is a lot harder to learn than any of weapons attack combos! 😄👍
It's actually even better than in World There jumping from too high would cancel the animation, now you can jump from pretty much wherever and keep drinking
I'm watching this for some confidence. Since for some reason in every Teo hunt, my fellow hunters often run face first into explosions rather than away from it. He wasn't this much of a pain in the ass when I was farming him for the bow in GU.

It's just a matter of time. Keep playing and using the chargeblade until you get use to the controls and mechanics. It's also a matter of knowing the monsters. I started of the same way in world but, the more I got use to it, the more consistent I was getting
Practice man, CB is all about knowing the telegraphed attacks and kind of lining yourself and your windup animations up to meet in the middle. Rise seems to be a lot faster as well. In World, you are buying an engagement ring for your vial storage to SAED. It's about sticking with the weapon, cause it's one of those that pay off in the long run but make you feel like hot trash when you are learning. It's worth it though. 260 hours World CB main.
I just learned how to pull back from a super amped into a regular amped discharge. I usually just do that unless the monster is down. It helps me I hope it helps you.
3:45 i think it might have been a better option to launch rakna to mount teostra and wall bang it into the lava spout for good damage and refresh the down time for teostra
I think that’s with the extended guard point switch skill because normally the guard point is at the end of axe to sword, the switch skill changes that.
At 4:47 you do a regular element discharge that you normally only do if your shield isn't charged. How do you do that? I've been in the training room trying to replicate this with every possible button combo I know and it doesn't happen.
you have to hold the left joystick backward just before you land the super amped element discharge, to be more accurate you have to hold the joystick the opposite way of where your character is facing, for example if your character is facing right you hold the joystick left. Let me know if this make sense

I know the Jurya charge blade is trash as an elemental, but do we think the impacts with element are better than elemental phials in rise? I.e rathalos and mitzu.. Are elemental phials worth at all? i.e rakna and thunder?
I use the rathalos charge blade because of the element exploit and go for spinning axe skill. For the rakna cb, I use it when I'll be using phials to deal damage. I do think elemental phials increase damage with elemental attack skills and impact increases damage with the artillery skill. Not sure about the last sentence 😅.
3:40 this whole bit is just so weird to me. It used to be that non elder dragons besides deviljho and rajang cleared the hell out when an elder dragon is in the area. Also, it somehow set teostra on fire? How is teo not immune to fireblight?
for the small time frame I think that is the best option, but it ruins your constant aggression, so for speedrunning it's usually better to go for overall damage per minute than damage per second.

From what I understand chainsaw is just superior because you can focus all the damage in one spot and keep going Discharge uses all your vials and you have to spend time rebuilding after every use
Doing a ASED (Axe super element discharge) has a lot of stun damage in a short time window. So if the opurtunity arise u have to hit it at the head. Otherwise using the chainsaw allows for constant damage, even the phials reload. As i heard if u use a elemental weapon, having mutliple hits is stronger that biger smaler hits. So that can play part in it too i guess.
For stun. That CB has impact phials which has a potential to stun. He only uses AED for stunning, the three ticks on the hit with an AED can stun unlike UED which releases the phials in a cone, so no stun (please correct me if I am wrong 😅).
switching weapons helps sometimes, also elemental advantage helps. but if you want to copy the build exactly they show it for a a split second right at the end.
How can you still use a simple SED instead of UED while your shield is charged up? I tried recreating this heavy stun combo but I always get UEDs when the shield is charged (as told in the notes)
I might be the only one here but Teo's fire effects doesn't look good, IMO MHWorld nailed it. His flame aura sure looks nice, the lingering fire thingy looks too extra in a bad way.
Watching this makes me realize I need a lot more practice with the Charge Blade, Awesome hunt.

Uh is it possible in Rise to go straight to guard mode from axe mode like in 1:51?
Yeah it is! but then after the guard point you are back in sword mode

With shield charged: axe mode: X+A > L Stick Back+X
As said by the person above. I practiced it in the training room to get a feel for it. Muscle memory will do the rest. Lol

You use the elemental discharge before your amp gauge is full
During SAED input hold the left stick in the opposite direction during the animation.
