They remind me of those little Cube World virtual pets from the early 2000s. I think they retailed for $40 for a pack of two, and they were little stick figure men that could interact with each other, play different animations and games… I still have like six of them, they run on batteries. They seem quite a bit more advanced than these little bots.
Someone mentioned these in an EMO group and I fell in love with them immediately. I made my first ever Kickstarter pledge and am now the proud owner of a Lavinder gen 4 that will arrive in November. Even though I don't have the Ortomi yet, I feel like I am getting my money's worth just from being part of the community. I have been so inspired by the creativity of other Ortomi users that I have started to develop an interest in 3D printing and am also thinking about other ways to express myself creatively through the community. I agree that the price is on the expensive side for what you get, especially considering that it's just started taking pre-orders. However, they do have improved build and features including sounds, and will be getting an update in February so that your Ortomi's can communicate with each other. They also do bundle discounts where you save on the more you buy. I'm probably going to do this and keep a couple for myself and give the rest to family and children.
I alteady have emo and pink eilik these do look cute and small i like that they do different colours i may add 1 to my robot collection for fun, they do look like cube men 😂
I think for me Ortomi is too basic as I have the Eilik and that is a perfect Bot for me. I'm going to be getting Emo. What other desktop Bots can you recommend? X

Omg was literally trying to remember what they were called today!! That’s crazy I’d come across your comment, gonna buy some now for my desk 😂
Oh yeah cube worlds were awesome!
My pair of keychain digimons do more than this

Nice bot response
Gen 4 def helps a lot of the cons
Really good review - thank you! Definitely not for me - but it makes me want to build my own :))
Happy Birthday Eric, I was watching another of your videos today when you mentioned it. Found it ironic lol
Thank you so much!! 🥹❤️🙏
looks like it does less than a 90's tamagotchi?
Yep 😢
Definitely disappointing but super cute
The gen4 does slightly more abd in the February update all gen 4s (And i think gen 3s but not sure) will be able to communicate with each other.
@@twistedrealitys742big woops! My 5 year old pair of digimon keychains already play games, and connect together.
I wanted one of these but its 50 pounds for it
I think they could have done more with it and charged £99 and added more features.
Totally agree!
I agree with every thing exept the cons, (IN MY OPINION) the low build quality seems like the "style" but besides that great video👍
Nice unboxing

A 1980s tamagotchi was cheaper and did way more stuff, and many more variations.
This thing dont do nuffin!
They’re cute

Will they make the price lower?😂
Now it costs 119.99 + delivery =(
Is that the new generation one they just dropped? 🤯
For me it’s only $99?
I want to put it in my car
Is this gen3 or gen4?
3
My Ortomi not sleep, why my Ortomi not sleep:(
Considering this product is crowdfunded it's just unacceptable that the build quality and the features are so poor
A lot of those issues have been correcred in the gen 4
Spoiler Alert:
Drop him in a glass of water to unlock the scuba-mask emoji
Can they talk?
No
exo squad?
