Hi James, the windows were mounted on 150 x 100mm timbers fastened to the wall plate at the bottom and the very large wooden purlin at the top using galavnised steel plates.

Anyone any idea how to cat proof one of these? I want to keep the windows open but can't figure out how to make it safe for the cat not to jump off, or without impeedimg the window to open fully without nets etc getting in the way

terrible, you should have placed a flat roof and a large glassdoor/french balcony. More light, more continuous space.
