The steel player is good, but if not for the rhythm guitar, it wouldn't have sounded the same even though she hit all the correct licks.

To my ear, the pedal steel part is very close to a memorization of the original jerry garcia part, however it is apparent you feel the right feels when you play as it comes through in the warmth of your tone and touch. Great work.
Yes, it definitely is. However, I am happy for that because it's hard to improve upon perfection (and the original is just about perfect imo) and I was hoping to see someone play the original. I have absolute confidence that she could've played something top-notch that she made up, as she clearly has that level of skill, but I was amazed and thrilled to hear such an accurate rendition of the original 👍

Love this song and your all's version. Jerry Garcia's pedal steel parts are so beautiful! And this song only uses the main two pedals so it's relatively easy to play as steel solos go. Jerry was a banjo and guitar player, saw a pedal steel in a music shop, sat down and was hooked. He only played for 6 years, then he gave it up like Harrison gave up the sitar.
