When you know the basics of how to play poker you will be ready to develop your personal strategy and take your game to the next level.
Pssssst…. You can play poker with friends and family by downloading the free EasyPoker app (also created by us) 👇

HOW TO PLAY POKER
Poker is a game in which players are dealt a hand of cards (you might know this from Kakegurui, the Rounders movie or Red dead redemption 2), and then bet on whether your hand is the best. There are 10 basic combinations of 5-card poker hands you need to know in order to play poker. This is the order from lowest to the highest combo:
1. High card
2. One pair
3. Two pairs of cards
4. Three of a kind
5. Straight - which is five cards, in sequential order
6. Flush - 5 cards of the same suit in any order
7. Full House - a pair and a three of a kind
8. Four of a kind
9. Straight Flush - which is five cards, in sequential order, of the same suit
10. Royal Flush - a straight containing a 10, jack, queen, king and ace.
Keep in mind that if two players have the same hand, the player with the higher cards wins. Here’s a full guide on poker hands ranking: easy.poker/poker-hands/
GET STARTED WITH HOLDEM POKER
Here’s #howto play poker. The most common style of poker is Texas Hold’em in which every player is dealt two cards. While each variation of poker has its own rule set, they are basically the same when it comes to the setup. You see your own cards but keep them a secret from the other players. Players then decide whether to take part in the round or fold their cards. To keep the game going, we have the two roles of small- and big blind. These two players are forced to bet a minimum amount - often small. In this case, 10 and 20.
When it’s your turn, you can choose to either fold, call or bet. Folding means you give up your cards and sit this round out. Calling means you want to participate in this round and put down the required amount to match the other players. Raising means you not only match the other players amount, but raise the cost of further participation in the round.
When all bets are placed, the chips are gathered in what we call the ‘pot’ - the aggregated price for winning the round.
THE FLOP
Three cards are then drawn and placed on the table for everyone to see.
This is called the ‘flop’. The cards on the table are called ‘community cards’ and they are important, as your ultimate combination of cards is the best possible 5 card combination of both the cards in your hand and the cards on the table.
Players then decide whether or not they wish to take further part in this round, with the biggest bet defining the cost of further participation.
TURN & RIVER
Another card is drawn from the deck and placed for everyone to see.
This is called the ‘turn’.
Players fold, call or bet again before a fifth and final community card is drawn from the deck. The ‘river’. The round is almost over, and players make their final bets.
At this point, no further action can be made - and players show their cards to see who’s got the better combination of the 2 cards in their hand and the 3 cards on their table.
In this case, both players have pairs, but our pair is higher, and so we win.
The winner collects the chips in the pot and cards are then shuffled and dealt for a new round.
And of course the roles of small- and big blinds change clockwise to the next players. We hope this guide helps you figure out how to play poker.

What is check? Who can check? Can multiple people check?
"Check" means that you will continue to play without making any new bets. However you can't check if someone made a bet in the same round. Multiple people can check in the same round and you can check when it's your turn to act.
You can download our app and use it to play with your friends. It organizes all the rules, so it's easy to use for beginners.
so, an ace card is higher than a king?
Yes :)
I don't understand as I see people playing poker on TV and they always have 5 cards in their hands not 2
Its another variations
There are many different variations of poker. The one you see in old movies and TV shows is called 5 card draw. Beginning in the 70s Texas Holdem started to become more popular which is what you see in this video and is the most popular version of poker today.
I like playing Poker with friends and family, although we dont do the SB and BB

@@deli7328 Okay. Well, I think it's good because you know there is always SOMETHING to play for in every round. But if it works for you without blinds, then that's of course great 😉
@@EasyPoker Yes, but we always do ante though, everyone in the table places a minimum bet of $1-5 (depending the decision the whole table makes) before the round starts

I still have questions, What the hell do the combinations at the start have to do with the game? What do your cards have to do with the Community Cards? And how do the bets work
Hi there! I'd love to answer every question you might have :) shoot me an email at Ulrik@easy.poker and we can chat back and forth :)
Hi Hands_0n, the hand that's dealt at the beginning is what makes the whole difference. Poker is about getting the best 5 card combination when you combine both the community cards and your hand. All players have the same community cards, but they have different hidden hands. Does it make sense?
I know how to play poker like you told me in this video, I then mean Texas hold’em. But did you know that there is a poker (Chicago) where you don’t bet and have 5 in your hand. It works the same as with the pairs and flush, just that you need to play with tactics to sin and of course ’Luck🍀’
I actually didn't! But maybe we should include that in the EasyPoker app.
Do you prefer that to Texas hold em? ☺️
@@EasyPoker Nah, not really, all kinds of card games is fun but I don’t choose one over another♥♦♠♣😁
@@davizroyale1803 alright, makes sense!
Thanks anyway, maybe we'll include it in our app ☺️🙏
@@EasyPoker be my guest 😄
Ok, I think I finally understand. So, it's just whoever thinks they have the best cards and if they do, they win. So, it's entirely luck based, no skill required?
Well, if two or more people think they have the better cards, you have to show your cards, and the better hand wins :)
@@EasyPoker I see. Thank you.
Actually there’s skill required.
Yes there very much is. Which is what makes the game so interesting.
The point of poker is not to win. It’s to capitalize on your win to MAKE MONEY
Im dum i guess but id u have 10 and A but if the J is replaced with 10 is it then a pair
If Any number or royalty are the same, its a pair
3:09 do we not have a "flush" ? 10 + A in hand + 4 + K on the table? Or can I only count with one card from the table?
nevermind... 😅
You need 5 cards... not 4 😂
Exactly 😉@@slowmill
I dont understand bv and sb, how do You choose who is going to bb or sb?
Whoever is left to the dealer is small blind and next to the sb is big blind. The dealer rotates clockwise along with the sb and bb. In a casino where they have professional dealers a "dealer button" which is a disc-like object moves around clockwise so each player gets a turn at being the "dealer" even though they aren't dealing the hand themselves. Cards get dealt clockwise starting to the left of the dealer button which is also the sb.
Now I can win against my friends that can bearly play
, not that i can but i can practice
Good luck ;) We believe in you
So how many cards does each person start off and how many cards is the max one can have ?
Every round begins with each player being dealt 2 cards. These are your cards, and for you to use only 😊
After that, 5 cards are laid on the table. First 3 cards, then another and then the last card. All players can use these cards in combination with their own. Between the 2 cards in your hand and the 5 shared cards on the table, the best possible 5 card combination is your hand - whether or not this includes the cards in your hand 😊
Luckily though, the free EasyPoker app takes care of all this - so you just have to play your cards 😉
I hate poker because I can't play poker and I want to learn it so well that I'll always win.
This video will help you ;)
Im a little confused. If someone can answer these questions for me.
Is bet the same as raising the price?
and what does check mean?
You can only raise if someone has previously bet, meaning you make the price higher than the amount they put out.
“Check” means you do not bet. If everyone checks then you get to see the next card for free. You can only check if there has not been a raise prior to your turn.

@@InfernalNull
Sorry! I just didn't really understand if you had an issue. And so I wanted to help 🤖😄
He didnt really explain what a check is
A check is kind of like a 'call', but without anyone having made a bet yet. So, in the beginning of a new round you can either fold, call, check or raise. Checking basically means you do nothing for now, and see what later players will do. You can not, however, check if a player before you has made a bet ☺️
Thanks for watching! Hope you give the app a soon as well 🙏🏼
if you only get two cards then how do you get four of a kind or a flush
Match with the community cards
Could you have gone for a flush in the example round?
A flush is 5 cards of the same kind. Not just color.
In the example, the fifth community card is a club. So we have 4 spades and just one club. Had it been a club, we would have had a flush.
Does that answer your question? 😇
Yes thanks
I am here because of an anime referenced skit by mashed and it's about a combination of the yugioh anime and poker, yet everyone's here cuz of kakegurui lol
I'm here because Ranboo played this game before
Really helpful... But how did the blinds chosen for the 1st round... Is that random...
Can you maybe explain what you mean with the question a bit more? :)
You agree on the amount for the blinds before starting, and the guy after the dealer is always the big blind :)
Thanks alot... So before the game begin each of us will agree that our 1st bet would be a certain amount... And the guy places large n small bet chose to be BB and SB respectively?... 😅...am I correct
Yes, you agree what the big and small blind is before starting the game ☺️

'great game to play with friends'
like i have friends
if im playing casually with my friends, no betting at all; thhen what would be the differences with folding, calling ect
Hey, betting is just a term in poker. You can play casually without any form of “traditional” betting. However you will still need poker chips and bet them against eachother during the game.
Use some coins that aren’t much value
Am I allowed to use my blue-eyes white dragon tho?
“If There Is The Will, Then There Is Hope.”🐉🃏
Can anyone explain community cards better for me I don't understand
Community Cards are the 5 cards lai out on the table for everyone to see and use for their combination. I believe community cards are there to further deepen the game and allow for more hand diversity. Because of community cards, a player cannot be sure to win after being dealt two aces, for instance.
Other versions of poker such as Seven-card stud and Razz don’t have Community Cards, but those that do have become increasingly popular in recent years.
I want to know this game
Haha, then you've come to the right place! This video tells you everything you need to know about how to play poker, and on our channel you'll find more videos about poker strategy ☺️
Feel free to download our free EasyPoker app, to practice playing poker with friends 😉🃏
I like playing cards
Fat deal!!
How do the hands correlate from the flop to your 2 cards
Can you maybe elaborate on this question? 😊
The flop are the 3 first cards of the community cards. By the end of a full round, there will be five community cards. Your final hand will consist of the best 5 card combination of the 2 cards in your hand and the five cards on the table 😊
@@EasyPoker do you have to hypothetically remove 2 cards of the flop to find your hand
Actually, no. You have to (hypothetically) remove 2 cards from that seven card total. But your final hand can also include just one of the cards in your hand. Or none of the two. If there's a flush on the table for instance 😊
Not me watching this so I know what is going on in Kategurui
Was this video helpful? Let us know here 😇✌️
I just bought a poker set today and yes thank you very much this a hard game
I still don't understand at the showdown like who's cards are better and I don't understand the point of the community cards
So, at 0:10 we give you a breakdown of the different hand rankings. Your final hand is the best possible 5 card combination of the 2 carsd in your hand and the 5 on the table. The EasyPoker app automatically finds and shows the winner of a hand, so maybe you can get an idea of how it works by downloading the app and trying a game with some friends 😊
@@EasyPoker thank you now I understand 😁
Awesome! Glad we could help! Enjoy the app 🤠
So it’s mainly about luck? Not skill right?
Luck is a major part, there's no denying that, since the better hand will always win in a showdown.
But, your skills of bluffing and reading your opponent can make them fold their cards, even if they actually have better cards than you 😊
how do you know who the small and big blind is
The small blind is always the first player after (left of) the dealer button. The big blind is the person left of the small blind.
Maybe check out our more in depth explanation on our website ☺️
