I love using the scratchy side of the pick. I use the Blue Herdim picks (like The Edge from U2). It gives you just a little extra bite when you want a part to stick out.

Can you go over your settings for “Even So Come”?

I love these tips!! I have fallen into the trap of thinking everything sounds great standing in front of my amp only to wonder why it sounds muddy in FOH. ...and the tone tips for the “chuga chuga” parts were very helpful too!!

The Herdim picks that the Edge uses work so great for this kinda stuff. I play with the red herdim (.87mm) pick sideways all the time because it makes the guitar sound "ballsy" when I need it too and shimmery for lighter stuff. You can find the picks at Stringsandbeyond.

What brand and size pick is that?

Chasing Tone Dunlop 1.0 ....it’s got the grip on it. Can’t remember exactly what they’re called. I like that it has the scrape option but also it helps me hold onto the pick in a live scenario :)
