I am a 71 year old and just started turning about 4 year ago and I learn something from you with every video I watch from you. Thanks for teaching me so much. Beautiful bowl 👍
I'm so happy you're enjoying the videos, Kennie, thank you! 😊 I bought my lathe when I was 69, started my channel when I was 70. I've got a few years on you! I'm happy you are here with me, thanks!
Nice work again Phil, and that is acacia for sure. My wife just walked by, looked at the bowl, and said hey that looks familiar like the bowl on the coffee table. So that must have been your inspiration for me from the past.
Beautiful as usual Uncle Phil! Great job love the would love watching you work would. Stay safe and stay dry and stay warm and we'll see you next video😊
I like the cracks along the edge. I saw the cracks when you showed the wood in the beginning of the video and wondered how they would turn out. You were right when the finish is applied it really darkened up. It has an old world patina look. Love the bowl. Thanks for the show. Joel
Beautiful piece Phil. Really looks nice. and it finished beautifully. Thursday nights are always a treat; I look forward to seeing what you are going to turn. Nice save on the bark.
Love that bowl, great job as is your usual fair. I hope you've wormed back up by now. There's nothing quite like shivering, having frozen hands and or feet, working with a freezing cold tool, and trying to think beyond that misery while performing a delicate surgery on a beautiful little widget. The upside to freezing all day, it tends to make a worm spot and the next meal be most appreciated and taste so much better somehow.
Good morning 🌅, Phil, what a cracking job you have done, 😂 , beautiful looking bowl, 🥣, and yes it’s that time of year heavy frost this morning, serious problem with workshop as I’ve not yet insulated my roof, very bad condensation, keep up the great work stay safe, warm and cozy, from France,
Lovely bowl this week Phill. It has such rich color. I’m really glad you were able to save the bark. It’s such a pleasure to spend time with you every week and watch you create the most beautiful pieces.
Very nice. After spending a few hours working on a 12 inch live edge bowl (no bark), it's nice to come in and watch someone else turn a bowl while I warm back up.
Love the bowl, beautiful! 👌💖 It seemed as though light was coming through some of the big cracks, whether extremely thin wood there or actual openings it added to the beauty! Stay warm so you stay well! 😉👍💕
Beautiful. Acacia polishes up so well. I'm halfway through turning an Acacia (Acuminata). bowl. Outside done and turned ready to do the inside. It's as hard as steel and I'm constantly sharpening. The heart wood is the colour of Chocolate and the outer the colour of custard. Yey nice mix. And the shavings smell like Raspberry Jam.
Really nice, Phil. Those cracks add so much. When you turned the crack into a smile, it looked like a gnome. I though I saw some chatoyance before you started turning the bottom. Bill
Thank You PHIL, Thank You ARLAND SANBORN....Looks absolutely 100% perfectly beautiful... Acacia almost looks a bit like Mahogany? (at least to me)... Great finish, Until next time....TM
Lot of character in that bowl Phil, lovely finish you got, hope you got in without being blown off your feet and got warmed up again. All the best from a cool Lincolnshire UK
Beautiful Phil. Just enough contrast... I just cleared a new building spot near the pond . My friend asks me when I'm going to burn the piles. Every day I look at them and different types of wood... I'm gonna cut it up into manageable size and save it! Lol I guess I'm a wood hoarder lol
Love it Phil!!! You ALWAYS do a awsome job at bringing out the natural beauty in the wood. Always am impatiently waiting for your videos on Tjurs. Love all of them!!! Thanks Terry
Always a absolute JOY to tune in each week to the Phil Anderson Show. There is NO better way to spend a relaxing half hour. This is an absolutely beautiful bowl Phil & I love the way you look after the bark, you are really skillful in replacing it. The end result is that you can't see there has been any problem & that is the skill of an Artist. I love the little cracks around the top af the bowl, it looks like you have deliberately created this 'balustrade' effect. Wonderful colour in this piece too & a great Feed n Wax finish. Try & stay warm & healthy mate. Cheers, Don from South Aust.
Great relaxing evening for me, watching you work! Doesn't quite seem fair, but rest assured Phil, you are appreciated! I really like the dark tight heart wood, kind of surprised that the cracks don't penetrate deeper into the center farther. The effect is pretty stunning. Perfect bowl, with a perfect finish, positive proof that it was made by Phil Anderson! Stay safe and warm Phil, thanks for posting, Merry Christmas! Rick
Im so glad that you reattached the bark after it went flying off!!! Thank you so much for that! I absolutely love Live Edge bowls because of your work!!! So beautiful, thank you again!!! I believe the thicker cracks were the side that you did a fresh cut, so maybe the side with the smaller cracks were previously sealed? Just a thought! Hope you are warmer now
I am a 71 year old and just started turning about 4 year ago and I learn something from you with every video I watch from you.
Thanks for teaching me so much.
Beautiful bowl 👍

😊
I love the cracks & the smile.

It looks like it's made of a nice, medium rare roast beef! Dang, now I'm hungry...😜😄

Thanks for showing how the setscrew secures the chuck. Beautiful piece of wood.
Thanks! That's a great detail to point out! 😊
The contrast between dark and lighter wood and then darker bark looks amazing lovely wood turned into a pretty bowl, good job Phil. 😁

I hear you on the freezing, it's not fun but it's worth it for the final result! 😉
Hi Phil. Another lovely live edge piece to add to your collection 🌞

Very nice. After spending a few hours working on a 12 inch live edge bowl (no bark), it's nice to come in and watch someone else turn a bowl while I warm back up.

Yes, light does come through some of the larger cracks, BobbieJean. Thank you! 😊
Its a rich color whatever it is. The cracks do add to the beauty.
Thanks, Christine! 😊
Beautiful. Acacia polishes up so well. I'm halfway through turning an Acacia (Acuminata). bowl. Outside done and turned ready to do the inside. It's as hard as steel and I'm constantly sharpening. Me too, Jim but dark wood is kinda rare. 😊
Really nice, Phil. Those cracks add so much. When you turned the crack into a smile, it looked like a gnome. I though I saw some chatoyance before you started turning the bottom.

I only have the other half, Bum and it doesn't have any bark on it. 😊
Beautiful!!
