I made a makeshift proofing box simply by turning over a clear plastic box with a small lightbulb and a thermometer sensor inside. On the cheap and works perfectly for feeding starters, making levains, and proofing dough.
Yep that works too 💚. Back in the day when I was making one or two loaves I would use the oven light and warm water in my home kitchen, helped take the chill off the dough in this cold weather
Perfect solution. I did the same thing with a seedling mat in a polythene catering box. I put a wire rack on top of the mat and I’m really happy with it. So maybe for the bakers who don’t have a spare oven this might be an idea.
