How are you getting that level of sound please I tried this using a clip mic and it barely registers any levels even with gain applied? I'm using MPC Beats and an M-Audion USB audio interface, do I need to feed the mic output through an amp first or something?
Hi there! I've bought this mic from your tutorial, but i hear my fingers tapping more then the instrument sound, can you please send me how to set it in Studio 5, with all the reverb fx! Thanks!
Hey, thanks for watching! Did your drum come with mallets? I haven't tried using this mic with just tapping, but it probably is something that can be fixed with some EQ. Unfortunately I'm not familiar with Studio 5 so I can't give exact settings, but for this video I used an EQ cutting most everything but the mid range, a compressor hitting it pretty hard, and delay and reverb through Neural DSP's Plini plugin.
Thanks for your video, I am looking for ways to record my steel tongue drum as well
Glad you liked! Thanks for watching
