    I know this vid is 3 years old, but your tank looks almost identical to my 55. I'm running two Penguin 200's on it with the Aqueon LED hoods. I almost got the Marineland hoods like you have, but liked the ability to add a second light with the Aqueon hoods. Tank looks great!

    Congrats on the Demasoni fry. When I tried they just wanted to make war not love so had to get rid of them, that was on a 1 male to 7 female ratio in a 4 foot tank.
    I might try on a 1-9 or 1-10 ratio in a bigger tank at a later date.

    • @inventoryking
      @inventoryking  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      David, thanks. It is likely from an internal parasite in their gut. You can soak food in metroplex and focus with some Garlic and feed it to them. That will introduce the metro to their gut. It may of may not help. This is what I would do.

    So they laid eggs and when they hatched, they swallowed them to protect them? And u made them barf em out? Orrr am i totally wrong here. Also. I have an oscar and jack dempsey cichlid can i add yellow lab to their tank? They are still juveniles. Or should i refrain

    • @inventoryking
      @inventoryking  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I wouldnt add a yellow lab with those fish. African Cichlids are mouth brooders. So they breed and take up the eggs in the mouth to protect them from predators. The eggs then develop in the mothers mouth and when they are ready she will spit them out.

    I've had mbuna for about a year now and I never knew you can massage the females to get the baby's out. I usually just separate her and let her release them on her own.

      Hey Tony, over the years I do it differently now. I use a toothpick to help her mouth open and don’t massage.

    Is it possible for cichlids to live with their fry?

    • @inventoryking
      @inventoryking  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would say no, at the beginning yes, but after no. And I mean yes with the mom. After a little they will eat them.
