He educates both the dog & the owner, but HE is also always learning.

Tom Davis and his pod casts have litterly changed my life.
I adopted an aggressive, sacred, reactive year and some change terrier a little over 3 weeks ago. When I first got her she was charging, thrashing, snapping and essentially one of the most scared and intimidating animals I have ever met in my life.
I have followed Tom's advice and use of dog training tools that he gives freely on his podcasts and TH-cam videos. Fast forward a short 3 weeks and we can walk outside with no incidents, she's has not started a fight with my other dog in over a week, she has stopped trying to eat my cat and is well on her way to being a fully integrated family/pack member.
Thank you. For all you do for the #nobaddogs community Thank you for the soild advice and Nyla thanks you for a second lease at life.

That owner did well. Trying to get rid of that anxiety when your dog is reactive takes time, but as your confidence builds, it will get better. At first you have to tell yourself to relax and after some time, you just automatically do when things start going well with the obedience. That’s one of many things I have accomplished with the help of these videos.

And you can see it in Tom, the way he moves, the way he turns around it's like a dance. And we don't dance because it's necessary. We dance because it's fun!

These owners are actually good handlers, they just needed some guidance. My dog can be reactive when passing another dog, especially if the other dog is high energy or aggressive. So moving my dog off the trail, asking for a sit, stay and letting the other dog pass has always been what worked for my guy.

  • @TLimabean

I am glad that even though my pup is reactive, he is not reactive in an aggressive way. Originally, I was in the whole force-free camp until I realized it was not working for my dog and was even causing behavioral issues to develop. I really had to open my mind and realize my dog needed a different type of training than I was giving him. Tom's videos have helped me so much! I feel more comfortable using tools that I shied away from originally specifically the prong collar and e-collar. It made me realize that for my dog to truly thrive off-leash, with his reactivity, that he needs things like the e-collar! Thank you so much Tom for helping me feel more comfortable training my dog in a way that is going to give him the best life possible!
P.S. love seeing Lakota being a goofy girl! It reminds me of my goof!

I came to these videos because a dog trainer just told me that the reason for my dog’s behavior is that I don’t have a relationship with my dog and that’s why he now also gives off bad vibes to other dogs. I feel defeated because I can’t find a serious trainer and doing it on my own… well, any kind of progress we make is completely forgotten the next day and we’re back to square one.

I thought that I had good recall with my rescue dog after many months of training proofing him through distractions. We were out on a hike and he must have spotted something in the woods and took off up a mountain getting lost. I lost him for over an hour and it was the scariest thing I’ve ever experienced! Luckily he was sitting by the car when I got back to the parking lot but I thought I was never going to see my dog again. This experience really made me understand how important e-collar training is. Having that safety net is so important to ensure your dogs safety. I would love one of your Tom Davis e-collars to give my dog back that off leash freedom that he once had and loved so much!

I have trained and raised many Boerboels over 20 years along with other breeds. This guy is such a different dog…he is so scared of kids and people. Yet he is confident at the dog park and I’m at a loss as to predict him showing interest to meet a new person and yet suddenly snapping.

I feel like we all have already won!!! Thank you Tom, you have helped me with my half huskie-half Labrador. She gets sketchy with anyone she doesn't recognize. We've had her since she has been 5 weeks. We weren't aware that she was not near weaning yet, then my elderly Staffy freaked out in the car with us all one time, every since Luna has been super nervous and creepy to people. I don't know that she won't bite someone, the unpredictable aspect scares me alot. I could never allow my animals to bully and scare my friends and guests. I do prefer her to stay protective, I'm just needing to improve my skills and her focus on me, then she will pick up on my energy more I hope and she'll recognize the routine. She is very smart and we adore her, so if she were to hurt someone she's doomed. I can't let such an amazing dog suffer because I selfishly thought she was pretty and didn't study her needs first.

There’s a Weimaraner that’s come into the vet clinic I work at a few times with his “mom”. He’s sweet but he is high strung, anxious and does not listen. The “grandma” brought him in one time and I was seriously concerned that something was very wrong with him because when I went into the exam room he was just laying down on the floor and looking out the floor to ceiling window. When I asked the “Grandmother” if she had seen any vomiting, diarrhea and if he was eating and drinking she said he’s fine. I nicely mentioned that he is usually more amped up and trying to go 40 different directions at one time. “Grandma” laughed and said it’s her daughter. The dogs behavior was honest to god, night and day. People don’t realize how many cues their dogs pick up from them.

My GSD has been terrible at pulling. My next door neighbor, who likes to take her for walks. At one point, he told me the dog was hurting his shoulder and he’d have to stop. I wasn’t walking her because she was pulling me over. This was all with a martingale. So I got a simple collar (looks like a buckle collar) with prongs - not the standard martingale type like you use. Only pressure comes when she pulls. No more complaints from my neighbor and I can easily walk her with no pulling. The links are black and disappear in her fur, so no fear of people thinking we are being cruel. The dog is overjoyed to see the collar,, so we are all happy. She has both the neighbor and me walking her.

I have a 100 pound husky-german shepherd that is 23 months. He is so stubborn, I take him on a walk and he drags me from one place to smell to the next place to smell. He took off after a cat. I picked myself up out of the street with road rash on my face and a broken finger.
I have 2 families who will not come over even though he is in the kennel. He barks and acts like he would bite if he could get close. I usually have to have him boarded if family come into town. I paid hundreds to get him trained, but he still drags me all over and I can't control him he is 100 pounds and walking him is not enjoyable at all. I am 69, and will not get rid of him, I need him to be respectful of me and trained so I don't have to fear for my safety, or that of my family. You work so well with dogs, I am in Utah I wish my dog Scout could spend time with you.

Ruby is adorable! I didnt hear owner say 'Leave It' when Ruby would start to fixate. I know I dont see the whole picture either. She looks nervous too (as I know I would be, knowing cameras and other people watching...). The transformation in both of them, is amazing to watch. Good on the owner on not giving up 😊

I am dealing with my worst case of fear aggression in a dog doing a reverse board and train. Your videos have not only helped me but my clients love you. Thank you for everything you do. Paw-Ease

I love seeing not only your skill training dogs but your amazing ability to break down the subtleties of your methods and communicate things in such a clearly understandable way. I'm hoping to get an ecollar for my dog soon. The prong has been a life changer!
Lakota with the leash just begging you to take it is too cute

Great, great video. Anxiety in trying to get a calm dog is difficult. When you're worried about the dog, the dog knows it. Loved the video.

I really like this owner. She seems really self aware, and like she'd be a gem to work with. She doesn't seem anxious to me at all. I have horrible anxiety, depression, and PTSD, and I can see anxiety in a lot of other people...I don't see too much of it in her. She seems really nice, and willing to learn and apply. Not too many owners/people out there like that anymore. I don't see how you can do it. I'm a groomer, and I hate the amount of time I have to deal with owners as it is...I couldn't deal with owners as much as you do. Yikes. But I'm sure you like people more than I do. 🙃❤️

This owner is so good! I wish I could be calm, my dog is so reactive towards dogs, in leash only. She would be doing the same same things!! Off leash she’s so friendly!

My dog is not reactive, but he had serious food guarding/aggression
(I used to be a purely positive camp memeber)
I used Tom's methods to implement obedience and I am at a point where I can get him off any peice of food and get him to come to me....
Planning to get an e-collar in the future to work with him and get him off food that he is extremely attracted to.
Thanks a lot Tom for all this knowledge, love from India.

Loved Ruby, big powerful girl that has lacked structure. The owner has worked hard in the training with Tom and a big change in both their demeanours was noticeable.
