  • When everything goes well and smooth the Koi Hobby is of course a very relaxing experience.
    But probably every hobbyist will once hit the situation that things are just not going that well. One of these situations can be that something is occurring or going wrong with one or multiple of your Koi.
    In this video we will show the process of cleaning a wound and the treatment of a wound in order to make it heal quickly again.
    This Nogami Kohaku has a small injury on the sides that we will carefully treat. We will show and explain each step we take in order to treat this wound properly.
    We will show how Koi wound treatments are performed, how you can check your koi for parasites under your microscope, how we seal a wound on Koi and much more.

    Excellent video on treating wounds, I wouldn’t have realised that you can go so far under damaged scales.
    I’ve always cleaned more superficial on the outside.

      Thanks, I hope it will help hobbyists! And yes you can go gently in between the scales. Sometimes you can see some irritated stuff is coming out as well

    I love watching these types of videos, I always find them very interesting.
    #14th to give the video a 👍! 😊
    Thank you very much for sharing Sir, I really appreciate it.
    What do you think about Gin Rin Showa, do you like them or do you prefer normal scales on a Showa?
    Have a nice day and stay safe.

      Hi there, thank you a lot for your comment. Glad to hear you enjoy the content!
      Personally I prefer to have normal scaled Showa instead of ginrin scales on them. Although Ginrin Showa can be really great as well, I've seen some really interesting ones in Japan... Maybe something I can share later in a video!
      Stay safe and have a great Christmas!

      @@Aboutkoi My pleasure Sir.
      Thank you very much for sharing your opinion, I really appreciate it.
      I personally am not too sure about Ginrin Showa, I have seen some that I think are quite nice, but I still think Showa are more beautiful with non shiny scales.
      Some Doitsu Showa can be really nice also.
      I agree, a video on those would be nice.
      Thank you, stay safe.

    Does it matter if the propolis contains alcohol or not?

    Hello dear I was have the same problem in my koi pond and i have lost some of my best fish.it is a bacterial infection and unfortunately there is no proper medicine for it... But if you can improve the water quality and temperature and use (baytrill).
    Last year I have struggled a lot but now it's quite Good thanks...

    • @Aboutkoi
      @Aboutkoi  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That really is too bad to hear. I'm happy to hear you at least saved most of them and were able to get rid of the bacterial infection. I'm sure this Nogami Kohaku also will get over it. It already seems to look a lot better today! Thanks for your comment. Stay safe and a Merry Christmas to you!

    Why not sedate first and then scrape? Thank you. Helpful video.

    • @MrGullu77
      @MrGullu77 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Because at duration of sedation you must stay with the koi and observe her condition...hope you will understand.happy hobby.

    • @Aboutkoi
      @Aboutkoi  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The comment that Karan gul gave indeed is true. You want to monitor the condition of the Koi. Also it can be very difficult to spot certain parasites after you used sedation.
