Horse suddenly was hurt before the derby and being put down. Kinda crazy that I used to guard horses before races to prevent doping and other such issues. It sounds strange. It's an owner issue when you see these injuries.

6 Horses are now Dead... 5 horses have been scratched...Forte has now been scratched. This has turned into a Nightmare. They are down to 18 horses, too much $$$ involved to suspend the race, but this will put another nail in the coffin for horse racing in the US.
They need to take better care of those horses and quit pumping them full of drugs. American race horses die at 3 times the rate of European horses. It's shameful the way they're treated.
One must be judicious in how their bets are proportioned. I have had the greatest success in horse racing when the win is 20%, place is 30%, and show is 50%. For example, My wager is going to be on Tapit Thrice with Luis Saez I would put $2000 on the win, $3000 on the place, and $5000 on the show for a total investment of $10,000. Provided the horse comes in third you are guaranteed not to lose money. If it doesn't come in, I lose 10 grand. Always wager what you can afford to lose. Good luck to all of you. The race starts in 10 minutes.
Wow, that was a clickbait waste of 4 minutes. It is hard to practically ignore 4 dead horses in a week. I like racing but they are asking way to much of 2 and three year olds, bones are not set yet.

Four horsed died racing at Churchill Downs this week and just before the KD. Doping is a problem in the sport, horses are raced too young, andHorse owners care more about winning at all costs than they do about their horses. Horse racing is dangerous for horses and should be banned.

If we look at eons of human development, we can see development from basic survival desires for food, sex, family and shelter-desires we had as cave dwellers-through the egoistic desires that appear when we develop as civilizations: money, honor, control and knowledge. The more the ego grows, the less calm we become. Aggravation, agitation and stress are all states that nature urges us to feel in order to reach the recognition of our human ego as the cause of the turbulence, and by doing so, develop a sincere new desire to rise above the ego. At this juncture, we need a supportive environment where we feel encouragement and confidence in order to rise above the ego. One aspect of such an environment is regular learning and activity aimed at elevating us above the human ego, which shields us against any aggravations that come to unbalance us. In other words, by regularly calibrating ourselves in order to recognize the ego as the source of our imbalance with our surroundings, and to rise above the ego, we would need to strengthen our supportive environment, which would in turn help us through any states we experience faster than if we were left to our own devices.

@letitialockhart1981 it's very possible, I chased a number of people away from horses 🐎. It is a real issue doping.
I would love to watch this event if the horses were the audience and the ladies in hats were racing with hilarious names.
