Last night I listened to the complete Dvorak New World Symphony and cried like a baby through out. Today I found this excerpt and discovered I still had a lot of tears left.
The whole piece is out of this world. This arrangement is outstanding. It is also one piece that works incredibly well on bagpipes. A single piper for the first verse, then the wall of sound hits hard.
I am Czech, as was Dvořák, so I have known the symphony From the New World and especially the Largo since childhood, my father used to listen to it. And as a member of Dvořák's nation, I must say, if he heard this, he would be proud of you, Mr. Wright.
I'm Canadian of Scottish and Cornish background. Like you I grew up with Symphony From The New World as part of my life. The Largo has always tugged the heart strings.
My father is Czech and growing we would regularly listen to the New World Symphony on Sunday afternoons. My father is now facing the end of his life, and 100% we will be doing this at the funeral.
As an old brassband lady i adored this,i have played trumpet and all the instrument down to the tuba! now i am 66, only play trumpet and althorn, but never stops until the day i die, brass band forever ❤❤
Is there anything more pleasing than listening to a fantastic group of a cappella male voices? Beautiful harmonies that bring emotions of musical joy...
It's New Year's Eve, 2023 and I've come back to say goodbye to the old year. Many years ago, I saw a movie titled "Snake Pit." A female mental institution patient sings this piece accompanied by a pianist, both in a very large common hall...the camera pans around to various other patients exhibiting broken minds and returns to her...tears roll down her checks as she sings...most moving scene I've ever watched. This arrangement is wonderful...performed by a fantastic chorus!
@@1bbshopbrat Oh yes, I know the groups you mentioned. The Vocal Majority’s performance of the hymn “How Great Thou Art” is another one of my favorites. It’s the wide tonal range that makes Zero8 so amazing. Their basses rumble away on low d-flats while the tenors get up into the soprano range at the end. That, and the overall quality of their performance is why I think these guys are so amazing.
I agree, I have shared it with so many friends as I was in a barber shop choir to, such precision in word and musical tone,I also got the New World symphony on you tube to listen to and they are so close to the orchestral rendition it's beautiful.
I've heard many arrangements of this beautiful song and all are outstanding, very well throughout and presented in a way that brings joyful tears to my eyes. Going Home, absolutely!!!
This song was sung in the movie "The Snake Pit"! It was also a theme song - melody only - in the movie "Four Friends" - my favorite movie. Until watching the TCM movie "The Snake Pit," I could never find the name of this beautiful song. It all came together finally!
This was one of my favorite pieces that I've ever gotten to play with an orchestra, and I love so much to see it brought to a chorus. Thanks for sharing!
My beautiful black cat Raven. It's been 3 and a half years since you went home. I miss you so much, girl. Times are hard here right now, but I know one day we'll be together again. I love you, girl 🌹
I listen to a lot of barbershop. I'm in a chorus, but I still usually feel there is letdown when even a great chorus performs a song that was previously performed exceptionally well by a great quartet, such as this one (Vocal Spectrum did it first). This is one of the only times I've changed my opinion. I love this song, this arranger (Wright), and VC, but Zero8 is just outstanding.
Im here after reading Hero History Apocrypha, the part where Karasuma-sense is humming and she's with Hanamoto along with Chikage's body T.T Now I listened to it, it hits me" Going Home". Now this sounds like a Chikage funeral song to me. Chikaagee T.T
Where can I buy this arrangement? This hymn was sung at my Grandmother's funeral, and Dvorak 9 has been a go-to on my "feels" playlist ever since. I would love to get my church choir to perform this.

Bryan Tercel sings this beautifully. I like you cannot listen without emotion…
Bryn Terfel
same here!
I am about 3 bars in and already in tears...such a good version

¡ Fantástica interpretación de esre coro a tan bella melodía...!

The Symphony is great, especially Largo.

This is the most amazing men’s chorus I have ever heard! And what a performance!
Have you not heard of Ambassadors of Harmony, Vocal Majority, Westminster?? Zero 8 is very amazing though. Not sure who my favorite is anymore

This Choir will definitely grab hearts like never before. Thank you for sharing this video with the world and with me. 🙂 (Chase)
Such comfort in those harmonies.
Last 15 seconds pushes an already great rendition into the deep-soul realm and the tears come unbidden.
I feel the same.
Le Cheur fonctionne comme un grand orchestre symphonique , Fabuleux!

And the choir does it so well, you can hear every note of the orchestra in their singing

Amazing!! With my best regards from Brazil, my dear friends...
What a nice rendition. Paul Robeson would approve. ;)
Wicked awesome! Reminds me of the most recent choir that I sang with.
This is the first time I've heard it with voices (I hear it with computer tones when it's being arranged). I think it's one of David's best.
Sandi, are you related to David?
@@alhuxley8795 I'm his wife.
@@wrightsings Thank you very much. Your husband is very talented! Tell him I said so!!!!!!
I really loved his rendition of "Goin Home."
I've heard many arrangements of this beautiful song and all are outstanding, very well throughout and presented in a way that brings joyful tears to my eyes. Going Home, absolutely!!!

Love it 😀
Bravo! From Brazil!
Awesome!
My last name is Dvorak I wish I was related to Antonin! I am Czech but my father never told me if we were related so I don’t really know?
You probably are. Would be good to do the genealogy.
Dvořák is a very common czech surname and considering it's meaning it definitely originated in many places independently.
Maybe you should name your son Antonin
I was Czech and bore the name Dvorak, I would claim him as an ancestor! What an honor it would be!
@@kaziiqbal7257 then maybe his middle name can be Leopold
You're the best in the world 🔥
