- Navajo Historian, Wally Brown, teaches about Dinétah! Today's teaching like most others runs contrary to what mainstream anthropologists say about the Diné.
The Diné were made up of many different people who, according to traditional oral stories about clan origination, came from far away to be among the Diné. The became Diné.
There were others who lived in the same geographic area, but never became Diné.
This is contrary to what anthropologists teach. Anthropologists paint a picture that the Diné were never a large tribe, and never had anything original. But instead stole from other tribes. This is not the case. If you are Diné be proud. Our ancestors were among a group of people with strong leadership. A group of people who were seeking improvement and always looking for a better way.

Anyone familiar on whether or not there were any large permanent native settlements in North America prior to colonisation? I am aware that there were several such large cities in central and South America, but am unaware thus far of any similar sites in North America.

@Rok man, there were many, many very large cities in North America prior before European arrived. Look into the mound complexes of the Mississippi river valley, Zuni Pueblo, Mesa Verde, etc. Many other sites are ruins that haven't been explored but the oral history talk about great cities in the past.
Pueblo peoples were (almost all) east of the Rio Grande. I am most interested in the northern pueblos…..

about? Is what he is referring to happened before or after 1492? He is not very clear to me.
The specifics are left intentionally vague. Those outside are not privy to details of many teachings.

Before, 1492...stories from 2 generation back said the that Navajo people came back to the land 100 life times ago, each life time being considered 104 years each.
That they were here, at went back and forth to Asia multiple times.

Diné is such a tonal language, where length and tone as well as nasal tones matter so much, I wouldn't rely on an app to learn it. The way you pronounce things really matters and a lot of consonants don't even equate with English that it helps to have someone listen and instruct you.
It is a good starting place but the pronunciation is difficult. A good practice is listen to what ever you can in Diné while you are learning.

All my life I have felt a connection to Native Americans. Over the last year I've had many past life memories come into my awareness. My maiden name is Katie Irene Tarbell. I have memories of being the first "white man" chief. And I have traced my lineage back to the Tarbells of New York and further back to Canada. Just having the memories is such an honor to me!

Wow, Mia you clearly gave a lot of anger issues you need to resolve. Anger is not a good representative of Native Americans and does not honor them in any way.
Look up the Mohawk tribe in NY...their history states it being started by 2 white chiefs. The 2 Chiefs were adopted by the Mohawks as boys. The Mohawks showed those white boys kindness and taught them their ways. The boys grew up and protected the tribes and moved them to NY...where they still remain today. History states that the boys had Tarbell family in government in NY at the time. Because of that, they were able to ensure safety for their people at the reservation. It's actually really interesting.
I have traced my geniology to those 2 boys. That is a FACT. You can look it up. It is literally written in the Mohawk history....literally right there on their website. Easy to find. Even though I am a white woman in America, I am honored to trace my history to 2 men that not only were chosen to be honored members of the Mohawk tribe, but they are also the reason there is a Mohawk reservation in America. I am not giving "Americans" credit at all for the reservation. They didn't work for it and don't deserve it.
I am honoring the truth. A Mohawk tribe adopted 2 American boys and raised them as their own children. They showed the boys love and chose them to be chiefs when they grew up. Do you really think they would have just chosen some regular white man to be chief? No, to think that, you are not giving them any credit or respect. The boys were raised as Mohawks. They weren't discriminated like you just tried to do to me.
At that time, the Mohawks taught the Americans who knew of the "Tarbell boys" who had been kidnapped so much about loving without color. The boys never returned to their American lives. They never wanted to.
I have never done anything as great as those Chiefs. But I am so thankful that the Mohawks taught them Unconditional love and it made a change in the world. I am honored to trace my history to that.

@spooky life Right...my grandma inherited over 10,000 acres of land that was stolen from my family because of lack of knowledge. When grandma / grandpaw died it went to my father, uncle's, and aunts. They didn't understand the value of owning land nor property.
I wanted to be an anthropologist, I can see myself after this life meeting all sorts of beings from all over the universe. That'll be fun. But here in 3D, I have a curiosity about all the different ways humans come up with to be human, and different paths to god. But it seems anthropologists have already ruined anthropology! I can't call myself an anthropologist and earn the trust of other cultures. I don't know what to do!
Just follow your path from a place of righteous heart and leave the judgment up to them - trust that they will judge correctly and give the opportunity to do so. However if you study others from a mindset of supremacy you will only end up feeding the same sick and tired energy, and it will be judged as such. Good luck friend :)
I've thought this as well. What people consider "Star Seeds" or "Extra terrestrial beings" are actually interdimensional beings that have descendants and physical manifestations of each different group of beings. That is why there are so many different beliefs and practices all over the world and many of them do have many of the same beliefs! I am Diné and my 4 clans coincide with different types of beings as well.
