    As musician I really appreciate that the game focuses more on the rhythm aspect than technical skill. I really love rhythm games but I really was never proficient at them and can only play mostly slightly above average, Rhythm Doctor is a really nice change of pace.

      I agree with you, most rhythm games nowadays require some level of skill with columns and rows, but this is just about memory and rhythm, than just looking at some arrows falling down

    If you didn't know, this game is actually perfectly musically accurate, swing rhythm is precisely delaying second beat to the 3rd beat in a triplet rhythm. So when I pseudo-played it along to the video, I ghost-tap 1 2 then press button on the 3rd beat on a triplet rhythm. Hope this helps! :D

    • @nram3930
      @nram3930 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I mean, that's not really the whole story because true swing rhythm is tempo dependent.
      Slower (down) tempos inch closer to a 16th note feel and faster (up) tempo turn to basically even 8s.
      Even mid tempo is not supposed to be EXACTLY triplets, but its what electric performance default to.

    21:03 - As someone who has suffered chronic attacks of real SVT (supraventricular tachycardia), I can attest that the level of the same name in this game properly reflects how it actually feels. Heart's pounding and shaking one's whole body palpably, at 140-180 BPM, and then it stops and goes back to normal rhythm, which at this point feels like the snail's pace reflected in RD's mechanic. It's so very well done! This level's also a pretty sweet homage to _Super Hexagon_ both in its visuals and in the Chipzel styling of the melody.
    The rhythms of the Stevensons are my favorite part of the game, and were actually the _easiest_ sort of beat for me to handle, though I can't say I've gone at it on hard mode yet.

It really helped me beat that final boss. Found this out while watching an Adam Neely video while taking a break since the boss was so hard.

      I just tapped on my table like I was doing a 160bpm (we roughly estimated that the song was that time signature) for 6 beats (so if I start on my middle finger, it ends on my index) and then tap

      The best way to do it i found was to tap out a 1-2-3-tap1-2-3-tap. (80 bpm between dashes, 160 bpm between 4 and 1)
      It actually plays that in the song itself

    Just some quick things I noticed during the stream
    a. The PA collab was for ADOFAI. One of the PA songs was put there, there was also a bundle (i think, i forget the details)
    b. The timings are so strict because you're using the hard button (for some reason), If you want it to be easier, go to settings > accesibility, then there should be an option to change the timing to normal

  • @Zephyeran
    @Zephyeran 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I'm not too far in, but I will point out the massive respect I have for how difficult slower rhythm games can be, ones that force you to wait for inputs.
    You get so used to faster paced endurance fests that stepping back to games that make you slow down and count out beats and press like this can genuinely be a bit rough to swap back to, which only makes the challenge that much more satisfying in my mind.
    Seeing myself struggle on something that some would call easy, when I know I can do better and know why I'm struggling, only makes it all the better when I finally get my brain into the right gear.
    You see the same sort of struggle for some folks going from qwerty to another keyboard layout and back, the qwerty muscle memory being fuzzed out some from lack of use.
    It fascinates me and only pushes me to do better, and in turn, I feel a lot of respect when I see her struggle the same way I might, even though I know she's far better than I am, hah.
