Archer is one of the weakest Servants in the 5th HGW. lol He loses to Saber, Lancer, Rider and Berserker in fair fights. He's roughly evenly matched with Assassin, but could conceivably beat him at a distance to do Assassin's limitations. The only time he could actually beat Saber is in UBW after Caster had removed all of Saber's energy.
@@AlexKlindt you forgot to see the situational aspects of those fights and haven't tought about actually putting them all in the same playing field. Emiya is actually one of the best archers even more so if he has a massive mana source considering all the things Gil can do with GoB. He should be capable of doing the same thing with UBW. Even more so if you can make all sevants the same stat ranking Emiya becomes even more of a monster against those fights. He can also break the NPs he projects to remove the rank down problem all his projections has. If he does all those Broken Phantasms + UBW = alsmots gilgamesh style of GoB spamming of course as long as he has mana source.
What situational aspects am I missing? Artoria is among the strongest Saber class Servants, boasting high stats, powerful skills, multiple noble phantasms and excellent combat ability. If they both have masters of around the same power level, Saber's stats will be higher, and Archer's only real shot of victory will be with a lucky Crane Wing Three Realm. Cu has protection from arrows and their fight in UBW is about as fair as it gets, in fact archer has the superior master and he loses the fight. Medusa, with roughly comparable masters, Archer is petrified by her mystic eyes. The versus Heracles fight in fate route is also a fair fight. He overperforms but ultimately loses. You're confusing versatility with power. Archer is versatile and talented. His powers can also perform surprisingly well due to UBW being able to exploit the way that Noble Phantasms work to good effect.

According to the El-Melloi II manga, there's a different class of Magecraft user, separate from Mages. Mages study Magecraft academically, as a method of reaching the Root, basically the end goal of nearly every Mage in the series. Then there's a second group, called Spellcasters, who view Magecraft just as a tool. The one Spellcaster we see in that series is basically another mercenary, similar to Kiritsugu.

Earendur Von Einzbern Kiritsugu taught Shirou half assed magecraft that brought Shirou dangerously close to death everytime he practiced it. Rin was so surprised at this that she wondered why Shirou wasn't dead yet.
Naaaaahhh. All Emiyas are fated to have horrble luck one way or the other. The summoning system of the einzbern grail war is 100% rates for servants with catalyst increasing the rates for specific characters to usually 95% The Grand Order's summons sucks.(though I was able to get 2 Merlins in one multi so I can't complain)
Other trivia: Come to think of it, if you read at least the summary of Lancelot's original lore in Arthurian Legend he shares exactly the same fate of Kiritsugu from every angle - He became orphaned after the destruction of his supposed to be kingdom including his parents similar to the dead apostle incident, adopted and grew up under Nimue similar to Kiritsugu under Natalya, became knights of the round similar on how emiya represents einsbern in HGW and both outclassed every enemies in their battles in those wars, both became fathers, both have an affair (lancelot to Elaine and Guinevere, Emiya to Iri and Maya), both betrayed most important things for them (lancelot to arthur, emiya to ironically artoria and the holy grail), both been black listed after their betrayal (lancelot to see holy grail with his eyes, and emiya to see his daughter ilya) and lastly both lived the rest of their lives like a hermit until they died. And another thing both have a child who is a predicted savior who both return the holy grail in the afterlife (Galahad - Ilya's role in Heaven's Feel)

He remarks on how Kirei learns a particular type of magic almost to the extent of mastery but then switches to another type without turning back.
Healing magecraft in the fate series is fairly high level alchemy. He could conceivably learn it from the Einzberns after he retires, but he would never get close to the proficiency that his wife has in the art.
Agnimitra Kirei was one of those natural geniuses apparently with a ton of potential since he can use healing too and easily he gets disinterested in what he studied kiritsugu seems to be working mans mage decided to master what he actually needed
It would be cool to get a manga called “Fate/Minus One”, a prequel focusing on the life of Kiritsugu as the infamous Magus Killer. Throughout the series, there may be moments when he slightly doubts what he is doing but reassures himself that it is for the greater good. Somewhere in the second half of the series, Kiritsugu may meet a member of the Einzbern Family, whether they send a messenger to give him the offer for the Grail War or he meets them himself to offer them a deal.
Tavish DeGroot he’s not really the same Emiya sure they are both Kiritsugu but Emiya assassin is basically from and Alternative time/world line, where he never met Iris so he stays cold hearted and calculating.
Adrian Cervantes interesting enough Iris still knows him or at least the dress of the heavens Iri knows him that’s why he has the “personal skill” Affection of the holy grail it makes it so that he can do things that normally are impossible in fate go it allows him to pierce invulnerability if I remember correctly but I’d have to second check

Correction: "mana" in the Nasuverse is the *ambient* magical energy, what mages produce in their bodies is called *od* or life energy, magic circuits combine, circulate and codify mana with od to produce *prana* which is what produces magecraft effects. Also you've been pronuncing "magus" wrong: it is supposed to be pronounced with a *hard g* (like in gruesome etc.)
Why did kiritsugu say that he wont be able to play with illya anymore when he kills the grail/illya ..did he know that the Einzbern family wont let him meet her ? (Waking irisveil makes sense cause now she is dead, but returning illya ? When was she taken in the first place ?) Oh man, I was hoping I would find out what inspired the creation of the character kiritsugu (design specifically.) I found one character I thought resembled him in character and in appearance named Roger Smith from an anime called Big O.
As far as I know the Tomson Contender in of itself is not special ( except for the fact that it was costume made to be able to fire the origin bullets ) and the gun itself has no limitation about only Kiritsugu being able to use it. That limitation falls onto the bullets themselves. Anyone can use the gun with normal bullets but the Origin Bullets only have their special effect when used by Kiritsugu himself.
im thinking about drawing an illustrations of my best time benders. so for now i got DIO, Jotaro, Homura(from madoka), and kiritsugu with his time alter. but for now i can only practice it. and think on how im gonna put them together. if kiritsugu did work on his magic he would have been op af.
He didn’t actually kill them it was an illusion. Basically if he didn’t do that then everyone except him and maybe it would protect illya and bring Iri back (but honestly probably not) and everyone else in the world would be killed.

Because he always seemed to be the kind of person to hide their true selves behind an exterior of selfless altruism. The circumstances surrounding his family and its relationship with the Makiris lends itself to some very interesting theorycrafting. I always preferred to think of Tokiomi’s actions before the war, in allowing Zouken to take in Sakura in accordance with an ages old pact, as being things he was not okay with, which makes me wonder.... Was his wish to reach the root a lie? Was his wish really to destroy the pact and get his daughter back? Unfortunately we will never know for sure, because Tokiomi, unfortunately, was one of the characters that Fate/Zero neglected to explore in depth, but the pieces are there.
Batman is a trillionare. Has a butler and a supercomputer. And shitload of gadgets and weapons. Kiritsugu. Guns and grenades? Origin bullet would be useless here cuz batman is no mage. Probably with his time ability he could aim at his mouth its still unlikely.

Kiritsugu's preference of mod. tech over magecraft is just another instance of his character where working smart and not harder comes into play. It didn't make any sense to put a lot of stock and energy into something that can be accomplished by just...buying it or making it i.e. guns and other military paraphernalia. Him not caring is right. His Magecraft is um...hardcore and sloppy. Utilizing his origin is the only way to use his magecraft and Innate Time Control could be more effective if he decided to actually use the knowledge stored within the Emiya family crest but again that would require a lot of BS that doesn't get him what he needs promptly which is the power to kill mages or at least use the ability in proper combat scenerios without destroying himself.
What about if he waits till the end of the war when shirou was saved to prevent the whole thing from happening or he can use the grail to remove himself as a counter guardian

Correction: "mana" in the Nasuverse is the *ambient* magical energy, what mages produce in their bodies is called *od* or life energy, magic circuits combine, circulate and codify mana with od to produce *prana* which is what produces magecraft effects. Also you've been pronuncing "magus" wrong: it is supposed to be pronounced with a *hard g* (like in gruesome etc.)

I understand that by killing the grail/iri and grail/illya he 'kills' his dream of living with them in a peaceful world ..but he could still live with illya in an unpeaceful world (so what did he mean by 'goodbye Illya' ?)
The Einzbern family didn’t allow Kiritsugu to enter the forest in which the Illyria resides in the castle, therefore he said goodbye, adopted shirou.
I didn't know that Nov 11 was Kiritsugu's birthday. Shit. Now I have to change something major in the last chapter of my Fate fanfiction! He shares a birthday with another major character in that story... Oh well. great video though! very informative and entertaining! I would honestly LOVE to see an anime about Kiritusugu's life as the Magus Killer before the Grail War. I think there's an awesome story there to be told!

As far as I know the Tomson Contender in of itself is not special ( except for the fact that it was costume made to be able to fire the origin bullets ) and the gun itself has no limitation about only Kiritsugu being able to use it. That limitation falls onto the bullets themselves. Anyone can use the gun with normal bullets but the Origin Bullets only have their special effect when used by Kiritsugu himself.

He didn’t actually kill them it was an illusion. Basically if he didn’t do that then everyone except him and maybe it would protect illya and bring Iri back (but honestly probably not) and everyone else in the world would be killed.

Because he always seemed to be the kind of person to hide their true selves behind an exterior of selfless altruism. The circumstances surrounding his family and its relationship with the Makiris lends itself to some very interesting theorycrafting. I always preferred to think of Tokiomi’s actions before the war, in allowing Zouken to take in Sakura in accordance with an ages old pact, as being things he was not okay with, which makes me wonder.... Was his wish to reach the root a lie? Was his wish really to destroy the pact and get his daughter back? Unfortunately we will never know for sure, because Tokiomi, unfortunately, was one of the characters that Fate/Zero neglected to explore in depth, but the pieces are there.

@@nightshrine4257 Kiritsugu would probably use someone that is close to Wayne, or even use civilians as a bait, and without hesitation or tricks(Joker)kill them if Wayne doesn't comply or use himself as bait while someone kills batman from behind or snipe him, Batman would win on paper but he has one weakness that Kiritsugu doesn't have, it's that Kiritsugu would kill anyone or use anyone(even his wife) as long as he get the results that he wanted, as the saying goes "the end will justify the means"

about Emiya family I think like Kirisugu than Shiro
Kiritsugu's preference of mod. tech over magecraft is just another instance of his character where working smart and not harder comes into play. It didn't make any sense to put a lot of stock and energy into something that can be accomplished by just...buying it or making it i.e. guns and other military paraphernalia.
Him not caring is right. His Magecraft is um...hardcore and sloppy. Utilizing his origin is the only way to use his magecraft and Innate Time Control could be more effective if he decided to actually use the knowledge stored within the Emiya family crest but again that would require a lot of BS that doesn't get him what he needs promptly which is the power to kill mages or at least use the ability in proper combat scenerios without destroying himself.
