It's like when riding a M/C ride what you brung !! Who cares if it is a Harley or not your out riding in Mother Natures Museum. But, you do meet the nicest people on a Honda ;) says the Harley Rider, lol.
If anyone enjoyed power tour it was you guys and it was refreshing to see someone truly enjoy it without the first complaint and was amazed with everything that they came across and you could tell that it wasn't a act or overly hyped skits, no one could fake how much you guys truly enjoyed entire trip, I enjoyed watching you guys enjoy everything
Love your attitude. If more people had your view the world would be a better place. Mind your business and do what you want. Leave others do their own thing and enjoy each other. Kudos to you guys.
Between you Danielle, and the Vise Grip folks, I got to live vicariously through you guys, and enjoyed to the point where I am gonna jump into the fray next year.
I'm with BW and Kim on this one, Dan! We would have loved to have gone on the tour, but "life" had other plans for us! Thank you for sharing your adventure! Enjoy! Be safe! Bro Harry
Great positive video Dan. And I'm glad you met Flying Sparks Garage, Vice Grip Garage, Dave Newbern, Mustang 429 and the many other Power Tour participants. You and Dani looked like you were having a good time!
Dan I would like to congratulate you on taking the 57 "Black Widow" from left for dead to being on the power tour driving it a 1000 miles In the unbearable heat .Great job. Congratulations Dani for making the trip with Dan thru the hot weather. See you guys next year @HRPT.
The experience you two had and the memories and what you took from the whole trip, is the sole point of hot rod power tour. Anybody complaining or being negative has either never truly gotten the experience or understands the concept of power tour. I thoroughly enjoyed each video from you and all the other channels I watch and can't wait to do the long haul in 2024.
This just became my favorite of all your videos, because it accurately sums up not only your Power Tour experience, but also the overall outlook both of you have on life in general! I'm 60 and traveled all over the world for the Army, so I figured I'm done traveling, just gave my 1964.5 Mustang convertible to my son and his children to enjoy, but now your positive energy has got me looking for something that I can Power Tour in the future with. You both always put a smile on so many peoples' faces with your upbeat outlook. Thank you so much for that.
This was my 1st time and I’ll do it again. I spent over $1500 in gas at 8mpg and it was worth every penny! It was ungodly hot, but I chalked it up to part of the experience. The cars, people, and adventure were absolutely wonderful.
Randy your chevelle is beautiful glad to see you and monkey wrench mike driving on power tour. It doesn’t matter what you drive as long as you get out there and do it. Glad you were able to go just like our Canadian friends from DD speed shop.
Just recently in the past few days came across your channel and enjoyed how you and Mike enjoyed your adventure, nice seeing you here on DD speed shop, I am so glad it was such a great experience for Dan and Danny.
You guys looked great out there man … apart from the heat it looked like you had a blast. Thank you for taking us along for the ride. It doesn’t matter what your driving as long as you get out and do it. Big shout out to you from Mexico my friend….
I wasn't there, just had the good fortune of experiencing it through your (and others) videos. Thanks BTW for doing all the extra work to bring us along.
Absolutely terrific attitude. I have lived on both sides of the line for a lot of years and find that car people are one of the greatest communities you’ll ever find
Getting your car stolen and renting a camery doesn't make you bad person, it makes you a legend. The people you got too meet along the way was worth it alone in my mind. What a great trip you two were able to share together!
I really like the homemade seat coolers made from t-Shirts and tubing. So cool to see something like yours do the Power Tour, as in obtainable by people without a six figure income.
Years ago a Hotrod group of us were headed to an event about 250 miles away when one of our buddies car became disabled about 20 miles away from our destination and had to be trailered the rest of the way to the event, where we would repair it instead of on the side of the interstate. As we were unloading the car off the trailer some guys at the event came walking up and started mouthing off about the trailer Queen that had arrived, them not even knowing the circumstances. Point is there are smart asses around every corner that think they are so important that their thoughts and opinions really matter in this world so we just have to ignore them and and consider the source! I have found in my 68 years that there is a lot of jealousy in people that just can’t stand others having things that they can’t have or won’t have because of them being too damned lazy or stupid to obtain them. I THOUGHT YOU DID GREAT AND AM HAPPY YOU WERE ABLE TO OVERCOME ANY ADVERSITY AND HAVE A GREAT TIME IN THE PROCESS!! YA HOSER!! 😆👍😎
When I went I didn't care if they were trailered or not... Different people have different budgets. I met some who disliked the people who sent their cars to a shop to get done as apposed to wrenching on it themselves... But honestly if money were no issue... I see no problem with that especially if you are building a one off car. I talked to a guy there who had an old Dodge Magnum (sedan) and shoehorned a crate Viper engine under the hood. And this is not long after the Viper even came out. I think the engine alone at the time was something like $30k!
The whole deal is you had a good time! Most of the comments were from people sitting in their air conditioned house. If I wasn’t so old I wouldn’t mind doing it. Deric from VGG. Drove the backroads , and had a great time, so kudos to you ,and Dani!!!!
Great remarks - you are a credit to Canada and all Hot Rodders everywhere. I've been Hot Rodding for 63 years (I'm 78) and your comments made my day. Thanks!
Thanks for taken us along I enjoyed every minute threw you all. It’s supposed to be about fun and you two looked like it was a blast 💥. The smiles on your faces said it all. ✌️😎👋
Robert Taylor Glad that you had a safe trip and enjoyed it. You can't please everyone. Thanks for the content and your positive comments. Always look forward to your videos.
you guys ended up in a group of most of the You Tubers I watch... VGG, flying sparks, etc and it was so cool to see you in each other's videos and finally being able to hang out in person!! I found you through VGG like 2 years ago and so glad I did! I hope to take my son on a power tour one day it looks like an absolute blast! thanks for taking us along!
Well said my friend!!!! I knew I respected you and your build for a reason……it’s the word itself…. “Reasonable”!! Glad you had a good time, and can’t wait for you’re next projects 😎👍
So I drove up to ATL, just for the day. I decided on my drive (4hrs each way), I was going to be more interested in the people then the cars. Meeting you and the other TH-camrs I met was far and away the best part of the trip and had me smiling for days after. All of you guys were just so down to earth, so appreciative of the support, it was truly fantastic… yes it was hot… yes charging $7.50 for a bottle of water in that heat was near criminal… but i had such a good time talking with he people, about their cars, their trip and experience… thats what makes power tour awesome… it’s the people.
I agree a lot of us get used to the states being so lush and good. Always nice to have the Canadian perspective on it. I live in the western part of North Carolina and that's exactly why I have a hot rod, adventure motorcycle, and a 4x4. The topography and roads are a 4 season wonderland only improved by good company. The South is one big welcome mat. I think a lot of people's social skills are atrophied from 2 years of weirdness, so next time will be even better.
Thanks for reminding me/us it’s so much about perspective and how cool things really are. Cool is what you make it. Thanks for bringing us along and I’m sure the video upcoming will be great as alway!
Glad to have you down in the states having fun. Nice that you appreciate how beautiful it is here. Ignore any nay-sayers or neg comments. Looked like you had a blast.
I’m from Australia and drove from San Francisco all the way up into Canada and back to LA in the middle of winter in a RV and loved it,one of my best memories is how unbelievably beautiful, nice, friendly, helpful the people were in 🇨🇦 CANADA.
Dan, thanks for keeping it positive and being mindful of the little joys in life. It’s a good reminder to enjoy the adventure of the journey. Well said. Keep doing your thing!
Dan and dannie. I am so so so happy for you both to prove to yourselves you can drag something out of the dirt and build a car and drive it over a thousand miles. It is truely experiences that you wil never regret. hell ya Dan as say i am so happy for you both to get to go on such a adventure. keep the hood shining and the rubber on the road karrie and rochele
Thanks to you guys, VGG and some others I felt like I was there. Thanks for taking us along. Power tour is definitely on my bucket list. Be safe on your way home.
100% agree Dan. We saw a lot of upset folks complaining about the heat, price of fuel, the wait to get in at Nashville, etc. We decided before the trip started we were gonna have fun by being prepared and setting a budget. Understanding you only have control how you react to every situation and not whether it will happen is key. Most folks decide if they are gonna have a good time before they leave. Hope to see you guys next year, we are already planning our second HRPT now that we know what it’s all about! Key to success is keeping the navigator in line😄🏁🔧🤟
Well said and agree 100%. It was not easy, fans quit on the way to Hoover Alabama, vapor lock after leaving Atlanta Motor Speedway. But in the end, fixed the problems, kept it moving and made those memories. Doesn't matter how you did it but you did it(what vehicle not an issue/old or new). I too want to do it again next year. Will be better prepared and plan in advance a little better. You two are the best!
Very well said Dan.....There are always keyboard warriors whose life seems all about bitching online. You are a true hot rodder . And yes...Do it your way...There is no way to do it right or wrong. :)
well spoken sir! Me and my wife will be attending it this year 2023. driving my 2000 silverado with built 5.3 and no so great to look at paint job. but its my right now hot rod. people like you make it nice to do things like this cruise. thank you.
Glad you enjoyed the trip. Two of my brothers and me did a 5000 mile 2 week road trip in 1980 in a 63 pontiac. Some of my best memories. You forget all the bad stuff. Next years car should have air conditioning though.
What a great positive video! Some people just don't have the means or ability to have a hot rod, but that shouldn't exclude them if they want to do it. I loved watching yours and others videos during the tour. It was almost like being there!
Thanks Dan for saying what needed to be said. I was fortunate enough to do 2018 & 2019 in my 55 and loved every minute of it, but one of my favorite memories was riding in my buddies 2016 Challenger doing laps at Atlantic. Point being as you said enjoy the moment and time you spend with friends both old and new ones you meet along the way. Again thanks for speaking up.
Very well said. You are 100% right. Your hot rod may not be someone else's hot rod... The key is enjoyment of the car and the hobby. Looking forward to the upcoming videos from the tour.
Wasn't there either, but every thing you mentioned is spot on true! Your perspective up beat and positive. I dig your stuff, and hope to see you on our first Power Tour next year. 1/2 Garage Style, 1.0 !!!
Heyy ddspeedshop. So glad you two had a blast with the power tour. The understaffed issue is really a problem right now. There are tons of jobs but they don’t want to work. So glad we Americans showed you two good hospitality and kindness. Be blessed and stay safe
They won't work because they're on Biden's taxpayer funded 'payroll' as long as they get their room, board, utilities, and spending money from the government, they WON'T work. during Trump angry guys standing around convenience stores and corners ended - those same guys were smiling and going to or from work when they were at convenience store, or up the street from the corner then at the bus stop.
Whiners will always whine. Your positive attitude is why you had a good time. It's also the reason you didn't meet any negative people; the attitude you put out comes back to you. Adventures (getting lost, car troubles) is what help make a memorable trip. Thanks.
You should make more videos . PT management should consult with you on future tours . You are a great commentator . We are the 57 3 door front wheel drive rusto mod that rode north from auburn Alabama to the Georgia welcome center . You are absolutely correct in my opinion , its always , for life , " run what you brung." Grapes of wrath
Glad you enjoyed yourself Dan. Power tour is definitely on my bucket list man! We're always going to have haters no matter where we go. That's so cool that y'all went an it made enough of a good impact that your hooked as you said. Lol Better than saying... I'll never do that again! Keep the content coming. Enjoy your channel. Keep on Motoring brother!!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
You are so correct on so many accounts. Fuel was 4.00 lots of none classic, we find out what our classics are made of. So much help because we are all car guys. It's ALL about the people you meet. Well said Dan!
You said it exactly how I feel. If you are proud of your ride, drive it! Someone has to carry on our hobby. It was nice meeting the 2 of you in Nashville. We were the couple who brought our chairs over to the cooling fan near your car in the garage area. Hope to see you next year!
Great outlook on it. Along with your "plan b"-ers there were also people who took damages to their cars (myself included but nowhere near as bad as others... Hornet) and it didn't let it stop them, they got it drivable and finished it out. The trip is all in what you make of it - if you pick apart every bad thing, it's going to be miserable, if go there to have fun and make the best of even the bad situations you'll have a blast. Was awesome to meet you (though briefly), glad you guys made it down and back home safe.
Good attitude Dan, you are a true motorhead. You proved that you don't need a 100k car to go to these events and have a good time. Thanks for all you do for the hobby.
You got the right attitude there, my friend. It's ALL about the journey, the destinations are secondary. You guys looked like you were having a great time getting where you were going, and that is what matters.. So, uh..when's the wedding? Now that Dani got her engagement cool shirt/seat thingy.. 😂
Hoping that next years is in the west as I'd love to take the Mustang to it. Loved keeping up with you and Dani on social media, despite the heat you two looked like you had a hell of a great time.
👍Really enjoyed all of the footage. Look forward to seeing more. Glad to have ya in the US🇺🇸👍. Kinda funny to see ya in a jacket while “we’re” still suffering down in KY! Blessings to y’all ✌️
Glad you and Dannie had a great time on the Power Tour. Thank you for taking us along! Hoping I'll be able to do that with my Chevy in the future. Last year we drove out to the Tri-Five Nationals in Bowling Green Kentucky. They had three days of Drag Racing, Car Shows and Swap Meets! It was a blast!! This year it's on Aug 11-13th.
Dan, you make excellent points! Do what you want and to hell with what anyone says!!! ( truth be known, I said hell, not you.) If you and Danni had a blast then THAT'S what matters!! Danni and you both looked like you were enjoying yourselves!! I hope you enjoyed your visit to the states!!! Oh, Danni; If I would have been in the '57 with you, I would have needed FOUR fans!!! ( I tend to overheat a bit, being hot-headed!!! Hehehe..)
You are so Right.. on the excellent points you made. I've seen people bad mouth other's and to find out that they are jealous of you. You and Danni are doing what you enjoy doing , so continue doing what makes you 2 happy. I've had a saying for many years now, The Good Man upstairs has put people here on earth just to aggravate the rest of us, so we have to learn to over look them and forget about them. Love your videos and your determination and Love for the tri5s .Glad you 2 enjoyed yourselves and Good Luck in the future and keep those videos coming.
@@daleslusser7868 thank you...I've told Dan more times then I can remember, to keep doing what he's doing! Life is tough enough, and a guy AND his gal have GOT to do what they enjoy!!!!
Found your channel recently, after watching your simple approach to paint and body work it’s got me motivated to get my 1957 gmc going. Planning on 2023 PT. The beauty of PT and the Drag and Drive stuff is the mix of vehicles, so nice to see everything.
We’re experiencing and strange time in our country right now. It is being taught here to hate are own country. 🤷🏼♂️ I dislike what I see happening but love my country and love the fact that events like power tour is happening and hopefully will continue. I hope everyone will see and hear it coming from you guys from out of the country and realize it as well. Next year will be my first power tour and we’re coming regardless of what we drive. If something happens to my car I will simply load tools and some supplies in my truck and be a support vehicle for others. Glad you guys came and looking forward to meeting you sometime.
Did the Goodguys road tour in 2019 from California to Texas with my Son n law. Driving the Goodguys pickup and car trailer to rescue the breakdowns along the way! Met some wonderful people. Once in a lifetime experience..I'm sure the Power Tour was also ! Thanks for sharing it with us !
Thanks for sharing, you guys are a blessing to watch. I was very impressed with your thoughts as you shared the Power Tour trip. You hit it on the head and explanation was heart felt and insightful.
Hi Dan. Great comments. Great attitude. If someone never had a road trip without a few problems they didn't have a real road trip. As you say, overcome them and the trip is all the more memorable. Come on back to the US again next year. You guys added lots of good vibes and sunshine to the tour and no one else had a ride like yours!
Well said! Yes it was tough, but very rewarding in the end. Met some great folks along the way, learned a few things and drank some cold beer in the evening. Driving a 55 year old car 2,300 miles is a blast!
Hey, Dan, greetings from Philly, thanks for taking us along with you! It was your good cheer that made your video's fun to watch. I'm glad you got to hook up with all your friends and it felt like I was there with you all. I'm so happy the '57 drove well without a hitch. It's a testament to your skills and talent. It looks like the LS engine is the way to go these days for performance and reliability. May want to look into an overdrive transmission for those gas-saving long trips. That would make for an interesting video. Anyway, I would of joined you down there if it weren't for the fact that I didn't win the DD Speedshop '57 Giveaway! But that's ok, I forgive you. So, thanks again and take care! Say hi to Dani for me!
Spot on! Naturally there will be people who don't understand the whole idea behind power tour. Just gotta ignore them. Been on power tour once when it started in Boston, what an amazing experience. To this day still hoping to get back into long distance traveling in a vehicle put together for that purpose. Got the vehicle, but life is screwing with the schedule. I miss my 40.
"Putting miles on an old hot rod is just a good time"...words to live by Dan, love your outlook and keep doing what you do!
It's like when riding a M/C ride what you brung !!
Who cares if it is a Harley or not your out riding in Mother Natures Museum.
But, you do meet the nicest people on a Honda ;) says the Harley Rider, lol.
Sell me that car!

Extremely well said Dan. Things like this you have to take in the whole picture, not just the bits & pieces.
Great positive video Dan. And I'm glad you met Flying Sparks Garage, Vice Grip Garage, Dave Newbern, Mustang 429 and the many other Power Tour participants. You and Dani looked like you were having a good time!
Much respect!!!! "If it keeps the hobby alive I am all for it" well said.....

99% live in their mom’s basement and can’t afford a peanut butter sandwich 🥪
well spoken sir! Me and my wife will be attending it this year 2023. driving my 2000 silverado with built 5.3 and no so great to look at paint job. but its my right now hot rod. people like you make it nice to do things like this cruise. thank you.
Dan, you are the man buddy! Your positivity and observations are awesome! Keep up the love brother!
👍Dan, Danelle, Glad you Enjoyed your trip through the US of A and the tour. You two deserved a great vacation !!
Thanks ✌
Thanks Dan for saying what needed to be said. I was fortunate enough to do 2018 & 2019 in my 55 and loved every minute of it, but one of my favorite memories was riding in my buddies 2016 Challenger doing laps at Atlantic. Point being as you said enjoy the moment and time you spend with friends both old and new ones you meet along the way. Again thanks for speaking up.
It's all about the fellowship and common interest. You nailed the entire premise. Glad you didn't have any problems. Love your channel.
"Lions are not concerned with the Opinions of Lambs." on FB & Twitter lol
Very well said. You are 100% right. Your hot rod may not be someone else's hot rod... The key is enjoyment of the car and the hobby. Looking forward to the upcoming videos from the tour.
Wasn't there either, but every thing you mentioned is spot on true! Your perspective up beat and positive. I dig your stuff, and hope to see you on our first Power Tour next year. 1/2 Garage Style, 1.0 !!!
I'm glad you plan on doing Power Tour again Dan! I haven't gone yet, but hoping to next year. It'd be really cool to meet you guys!
We loved following you guys on the tour. Also glad you enjoyed the hot weather and friendly folks from down south. Hope you do it again.
Awesome Dan! Always positive and friendly!
I enjoyed riding along with y'all. You probably saw more of America than most Americans. You now know what we love about it!
I wish I could have been there. Maybe next year my "Hotrod" will be roadworthy. So glad you two had a good time!
My son and I are building one just for next years tour.
Whiners will always whine. Your positive attitude is why you had a good time. It's also the reason you didn't meet any negative people; the attitude you put out comes back to you. Adventures (getting lost, car troubles) is what help make a memorable trip. Thanks.
Great job with the video's, for sure have me wanting to plan for next year. Thank you so much! Love watching!!!
Anytime I see a '57 Chevy, I instantly get happy. Yours has me smiling from ear to ear.
Sounds like you had a Blast! I was glad to see you hook up with Emily, David and Cotton , then
later Derek .
You should make more videos . PT management should consult with you on future tours . You are a great commentator . We are the 57 3 door front wheel drive rusto mod that rode north from auburn Alabama to the Georgia welcome center . You are absolutely correct in my opinion , its always , for life ,
" run what you brung."
Grapes of wrath
Such a great time , Being positive ✨️
you both are awesome.
You said it exactly how I feel. If you are proud of your ride, drive it! Someone has to carry on our hobby. It was nice meeting the 2 of you in Nashville. We were the couple who brought our chairs over to the cooling fan near your car in the garage area. Hope to see you next year!
Well said Dan, car people are awesome, and everyone loves an old car, stock, hot rod, rat rod,😊 doesn't matter.
Dan your positivity is uplifting and what you said about the memories being made at the worst times is so true
😂
Great to hear you guys had a great time! If you would please include if you had to do any roadside repair.
Hoping that next years is in the west as I'd love to take the Mustang to it. Loved keeping up with you and Dani on social media, despite the heat you two looked like you had a hell of a great time.
I will take my el camino if it ever is running at the right time and the tour is fairly close to KC area again. Last time I had a spun bearing.
I would 100% agree with everything you said. It was a pleasure meeting you guys and hanging out. Hope to do it again next year!
I would drive a minivan if it gave me an opportunity to do this kind of stuff
I admire you positive attitude! Keep doing what you are doing. You hit the nail on the head about what hot rodding is, in my opinion.
Well said. I had brake downs and got it fixed in a parking lot. 2600 miles so much fun. Hope to see you next year.
Great attitude to have Dan, it is what you make it and like you said, those struggles will just make for some great memories on down the line..
I totally agree with you! Im the fella that was riding the old honda z50. Love what yall do keep it up.
Well said! Yes it was tough, but very rewarding in the end. Met some great folks along the way, learned a few things and drank some cold beer in the evening. Driving a 55 year old car 2,300 miles is a blast!
Love your attitude and totally agree with everything you said! I'm very pleased you enjoyed your experience in the USA. I hope you come back soon.
Love the 57 ! Glad you guys got to go & have a great p.tour ! That would be so much fun. !
Great follow up on the tour. You hit the nail on the head (nailhead). Vacations are to enjoy and you guys did it.
